I hope @Ag with kids is happy with this. The justification for giving party identity itself representation among other things is also the justification for putting a partisan outcome ahead of all other things, including democracy itself. When George Washington warned you people about factionalism he knew what he was about. h/t @Anastasis. The burn-it-down plan is working as expected.7 points

Agreed. This is a long term play. Republicans aren’t doing this for Trump. They’re undermining institutions and processes so that those inconveniences won’t be around to stop the next would-be GOP dictator.7 points

This is our concern dude. But even if it doesn’t (and it almost certainly won’t) deligitimizing democracy itself for the losing side and a national party signing on to an effort to ask a state legislature overturn the result of an election is a real bad thing. Hard to unring that bell.7 points

Exactly. This is what Brisket and Hugo and others have been screaming about for years while the content mob, snug in the warmth of their normalcy bias, chuckled at the “hyperbole.” America is fucked, fucked, fucked. There’s no going back for the right. They’ve walked to the crossroads and shook the devil’s hand. Civil war 2 looks more and more likely by the day:6 points

Both teams started the season like pure shit. One team was replacing a fuck ton of players with a 1st year QB. The other team is filled with JRs and SRs with a 4th year starter at QB. One team is improving week by week and looks fucking good rolling through their opponents. The other team is just now learning how to barely win games against sub par opponents looking like shit doing it. ou is going to roll us in the championship game. We were fucking lucky to make that come back against them. Herman is 1/10th the coach Riley is. He is about to be 1-5 against our main rival. Fucking embarrassing. This used to be an actual rivalry, where we were the better team most years. We are ou’s bitch and we’re a fucking game winning field goal from being 0-5 against them under Herman. Fuck Herman. Fire his incompetent ass and pay Urban 10 million. Fucking pay him 15 million, I don’t care. I’m tired of us being a terrible program. We are irrelevant on the national stage and we are irrelevant with all the elite recruits in our own state, on our own city, and with our own fucking legacy players.6 points

The hand motion from Leinart, followed by Brady's verbal wink, followed by the way Urban responded was very interesting.6 points

Why not put the two teams playing in the thread title, if this is intended to be the game thread. Just a thought.6 points

100 years ago you had to be pretty smart to survive in the country. All kinds of ways to starve/die/sicken/waste away if you weren't on your A-game. Now if you need something, you just crank up the bank's pickup truck, tool down a stretch of asphalt that makes an all-day trip into a 15-minute one, and slap down plastic for whatever you feel like packing your gut with. None of the above actually lowers the IQ, mind you-- that job goes to Bro Country.6 points

"B-b-but, your honor, we couldn't prove these affidavits to be false, so ipso ergo facto and thusly, they must be true. We promise we were very thorough, your honor - we removed all of the affidavits that wanted to sell us Viagra, provided a phone number for a Chuck E. Cheese, or appeared to be submitted from seemingly false names like "Mr. Grittysez Gofuckyorself." You must admit, your honor, very thorough. And the affidavits that remain, then, must be loquitur res henceforthly deemed to be truthful."6 points

I mean, it's become pretty crystal clear that 2 things are true: 1) Tom Herman fucking sucks at recruiting and developing oline 2) Tom Herman's offense is built around his QB being his best rusher and taking a complete beating. He hasn't had a 1000 yard rusher at RB as a head coach. He very clearly and demonstrably does not know how to utilize his run game personnel properly. Does Sam miss throws? Absolutely. But lets not act like Jake Smith and Tariq Black haven't dropped some incredibly easy balls this year that would have been big plays. Let's not forget that he's been mostly money in the 4th quarter of these games. Kid plays with heart and doesn't make excuses like his head coach.6 points

I find it odd that some go to such lengths to borderline trash Sam. Incessant bitching about his flaws and disregard for all other QBs exhibiting similar flaws. Yes, some may overlook those flaws to an extent but that's somewhat understandable knowing how hard he plays, how well he represents and cares for the university. Those same people should not find it odd that Longhorn fans come to his defense. Regardless of what some of you dipshits say, his style of play and the QB play this offense dictates will lessen his accuracy. He's not as good as last year or even the year before but oddly enough he had great moments in our two losses. And our WRs were not especially good in either of those games. The defense and special teams were flawed too. The two fumbles were massive. And now we're spending time on how talented our guys around him were/are. LJH so damn good he was undrafted. CJ so damn good he was a later round pick. Duvernay a 3rd rounder. But wow that one potential 1st round pick in Cosmi. So 1 first rounder on offense in Sam's 4 years. That's tremendous. Braun and Shack were so good the NFL didn't give them much respect. But hey we've got a potential draft pick at the other tackle spot but he's playing center. And probably ain't gonna be all conference. Most of the bitchin about the offense should be directed at the staff. Obviously none of our guys are perfect. Probably few on offense are all conference. But none of the parts are playing to their supposed or even proven talent level. But my guess is we look damn good for these last 3 games. As a team. The wildcard is the weather. I'm all for winning.6 points

So I hear sizzling in the kitchen. Come in, and the boy is making a late night sammich. That’s turkey pastrami sizzled in the pan, four slices of bacon, two kinds of cheese, on buttered and griddle toasted bread. Oh, and he added two more slices of cheese after this.6 points

well the primary goal should be to keep this type of crap from ever happening again. of course a dozen people from his 2016 campaign got thrown in jail or otherwise indicted and who knows what type of shady shit he tried this time around. i remember in frost/nixon, sam rockwell's character was all about "giving the american people the trial of richard nixon that they wanted to badly but were robbed of when he resigned". i think there will be that need many have, although in trump's case, i think most of his worst crimes were committed before he became president. in fact, if he hadn't won, he probably would've gotten away with them. that's why he never showed his financials - because he never thought he would have to. but he won, and opened himself up to all sorts of scrutiny. it would be nice if a lot of these "accepted norms" that we just assumed as law were turned into actual law. a president should have to divest his businesses. he/she should have to release 10 years of financials. the emoluments clause should be actually enforceable, even if not punishable. i'm sure there are a bunch more you could throw on the pile. i would like to see a better system in place to prevent high ranking people to be "acting" for so long. i would like to see a structure that disallowed someone in the president's position to basically fire people who are investigating him, and trying to intimidate whistleblowers. and don't even get me started on the obstruction of congress nonsense. we should live in a world where subpoenas mean something. oh well.5 points
