  1. Wednesday afternoon Buddy went to the vet for the last time. Buddy was a sixteen year old terrier mix who had been in pain since he spent two nights in the animal hospital in January. Only 2nd time I have put a dog down, and this was much worse than the first time. Favorite recent memory of Buddy was the other night, his last night, he went to the dog park, was taken off the leash, roamed around the park for a bit and walked back to the apartment off the leash. Blindness didn't stop him from knowing how to get back home. Admittedly a short walk, still impressive for a dog who couldn't get up with 100% consistency. Also a fond memory is that when my dad came to visit recently Buddy got really close to my dad, sat next to him on the couch and was totally enamored with him. I called my dad to tell him and cried again on the phone with my dad. Buddy was ours since my younger son picked him out in 4th grade. We had 15 years and four months with Buddy. My son will be 27 years old next month. The son came over Tuesday night to say goodbye. Buddy was a good traveler, he went from McKinney to Alaska for three years to Euless and finally San Antonio. He couldn't get up by himself anymore, etc. and was in a lot of pain. No more pain Buddy. Go chase those squirrels in heaven Buddy.

  2. Well, we’re home. Finally. But it’s a ghost town on our street. Just 3 houses occupied. I think we’ve done enough remediation to safely reoccupy, but some of our neighbors are being hyper neurotic. But everyone has to make their own decisions. We feel we’ve done what is needed to safely be home. And it feels great to be here. And the cats and dog are in heaven to be home. They’ve been bounced around a lot and have weathered it. But they’re home. And so are we. But Altadena is forever changed. We shall see what rises from the ashes. Altadena strong.

  4. Yeah guys, it isn't like a Russian agent would try and fracture NATO, weaken US global force deployment, attempt to pit America against itself and its allies, institute economic policies that would destabilize the most powerful economy on earth, repeat Russian propaganda about a war that Russia started, or give Russia everything it wants in a "peace" negotiation to end that war. What's that? That is exactly what a Russian agent would do? Never mind then.

  5. This fucking cuntstain has Americans rooting against their own country in favor of Canada in hockey. I'm one of them. Fucking everything has to be divisive with this fuck. Like renaming a fucking body of water knowing that it just riles people up for no other fucking reason whatsoever. When the nation collapses we'll deserve it, half of the voters wanted this, fuck them, and fuck you if you enjoy this or still think "both sides are the same." Eat shit, for real.

  6. Also, anyone and everyone who has had a dissenting post deleted/removed from Twitter should join together and file a Section 1983 suit against Elon for depriving them of their civil rights. Because the facts make it a pretty damned solid (and important) case. 1. Elon is a powerful, senior employee and officer of the US Government. Trump has admitted so, publicly. Further, Elon's public statements and tweets on the matter make it clear that he is. 2. That powerful, senior officer of the US Government controls a major site for the dissemination and public discussion of topics that include the operation of the US Government, specifically including the functions of that particular officer of the US Government. 3. That powerful, senior officer of the US Government actually USES that site for making statements directly connected to and relevant to his role and actions as a US Government official. 4. That powerful, senior officer of the US Government suppresses/drowns out dissenting speech by a) actively deleting/hiding dissenting posts and comments, b) creating/directing the creation of an algorithm that performs the same function. 5. Government suppression of speech, particularly on matters of public import and interest, is a plain violation of the First Amendment rights of the speakers. TLDR: Because Musk is an officer of the government and does not just use but CONTROLS Twitter in connection with and in furtherance of the performance of his duties as a government official, Twitter is -- for First Amendment purposes -- an arm of the US Government. Thus, it cannot suppress or favor any speech based on its content. Doing so violates the First Amendment, and Elon (in his capacity as the owner and controller of Twitter) should be enjoined from doing so. It is a good lawsuit. It is a VERY good lawsuit. It should be brought posthaste, seeking emergency injunctive relief, because the harm is real, ongoing, and there is no adequate remedy at law if it is allowed to continue.

  7. The United States of America ended when "because it makes the other side mad" became an acceptable reason for enacting policy. It's one thing to have your set of beliefs and a desire to promote them, while knowing and accepting that there will be an opposition force to these ideals that will likely disapprove. But what has happened in America is "lib tears" is the entire justification for many of these actions. Not bettering the country. Not tangible progress for the community. Merely "look how mad it will make the people I disagree with." Actively cheering on stuff purely based on how much it hurts your neighbor is some DARK shit. And it is our new Constitution.

  9. Got a little wordsmith'n to share with ya Aggies. Whooop! Kicking off with a double entendre. Nice! 1 I bet the Chamber of Commerce can't weight wait to get their hands on that slogan, Olin! 2 Extra girth ('nother double entendre there, ol' buddy?) leads to trump card. Not sure you've got a great handle on the various uses of the term girth or what a trump card is. Stop drinking beers with Brauny (but, he's soooo dreamy). 3 In case readers missed it in the headline. Milk that motherfucker! Depending upon which type of girth your referring to, that few pounds can be a pretty big deal. Otherwise....who cares? Olin presses for precision. Investigative reporter stuff. Think of all the words you could have saved by saying approximately or around 180. Useful words, Olin. Useful words. We narrow down which girth is meant. What follows is extensive family size history. Fortunately, Olin ties it all together in the very next paragraph. I see Olin made William's annual editorial staff meeting about constructing the annual rollercoaster: Just a few hurdles to clear, notes our good friend: Start engraving the Heisman! Look at the juggernaut he'll be directing: Rolling. Ball. Of. Butcher. Knives. 1 Inspires fear in somebody, no doubt. 2 Just ask those Bowling Green Seniors! 3 Terrifying. Poor Olin. Come here, pig. Have some lip gloss. I love the way this paragraph just slowly, inevitably deflates. Fully maximize! Makes sense it'd be different. At least to some extent. It was a good decision to delete the ah, fuck at the end. Has Olin forgotten his opening double entendre as he drifted off into fantasy land about the Aggie offense? No. Not our man. Bring it on home, Olin, as only you and the cheesiest mid-century sports writers can do.

  12. The shift in labor power that covid caused basically broke the brain of every billionaire businessman. Their sole focus the last few years has been putting labor back in its place, and in their minds that requires immiserating basically every American with a net worth under like $50 million. The ability to buy up assets on the cheap and further consolidate their power is part and parcel to that. Elon is out front taking all the slings and arrows on this, but they're all aligned on the goal. This is why, if we want a functioning American democracy, when we get through this we have to eliminate billionaires via massively confiscatory taxation (and criminal prosecution for any of them that can conceivably be charged with crimes).
