Flying is a pain in the dick as it is...but this seemingly new practice of rear plane dwellers stashing their bags in the front overhead bins has to stop.

Has this always been a thing and I've never noticed?  I've always put my bag above where I'm sitting?

What am I missing....what is the advantage of doing this other than making some poor sap (me) swim upstream when the plane lands, while everyone else is clamoring to get off?

It has always been a thing, but made worse by airlines charging for checked bags, making everyone bring a carryon instead. So you have overhead bins now often getting completely filled up, and the fight for scarcity means grabbing whatever bin space you can get.

Im not talking about the last folks boarding grabbing available space.

I'm talking people that are in the first couple of boarding groups, entering an empty plane and stashing their bags in the front and walking back 30 rows to their seat and 30 empty overheads.

It's especially annoying when we paid extra for EconomyPlus and don't have room for our bags.

Because it's easier to deplane and grab it on your way off when all those people have already gotten off, rather than fighting the cattle in the back to both get out of your row AND grab your bag.

It's selfish behavior.

These are the same people who don’t put away their shopping carts.

Piece of shit corporate Windows laptops packed to the brim with corporate 'security' crapware that hogs most the resources and burn all the battery.

When working from the couch at home I have to prop it on a book or a flat surface for the machine to ventilate or else it overheats (which it does anyway) and dies.

Have you tried first class?  They usually frown on the poors stashing their bags in 1st class.  And you get to stare at the common folk smugly while they're stuck in line to get back to row 34, all the while you know you'll be in the first 10-20 people off the plane.

On a widebody first class has its own boarding door so you never have to see the underclass and they'll never access your stowage.

Trucks in the handicap parking (w/ placard) with a 4+" lift and 37+" tires.

I know 80% of handicap parking is fraudulent, but got damn, they could be a little more discreet.

You've overlooked the very real possibility of a mental handicap.

I usually have blood drawn for lab work a couple of days before my checkup appointments.  I got tired of doing the paperwork twice in a few days and asked if I could just do it when I was there for the checkup.  I was allowed to do that for about a year, then it went back to every time I went into the office.  Dammit.

I still get annoyed when things other than luggage go in the bins.

Flew to NYC last week, and after making it through TSA and to the gate, we're preparing to board, and they recheck all IDs for all passengers against their boarding passes, then rescreen carry on bags as we board.  Like somehow your 30 second nosing through my bag with your wooden dowel is going to reveal something that was missed on the X-Ray tube that someone already scrutinized a mere hour ago.  Flying home, they gave ZERO Fs.

Only reason I can think they gave a damn was the UN was in session in NYC.  I'll hold off on the rest of the thoughts, but anyone wanting to cause harm isn't going to be travelling and recording their movements like that...

Mrs. Doom and I have diametrically opposed opinions on spiders in the house.

I view them as welcome tenants who earn their keep (and the right to peacefully exist) by eating all the other bugs, especially the many insect intruders in our basement (house centipedes fucking suck...) My attitude is that if the spiders are getting plump, then business is good, and proof-positive of the benefit they bring to the household.

Mrs. Doom doesn't agree with any of that - zero tolerance for any bugs, though she's squeamish enough that she doesn't even kill them - they just become my problem to deal with.

So whenever I'm alone and I encounter a spider friend boldly chilling out in plain view, I remind them that if they want to stick around, they need to do a better job at remaining concealed.

But they hardly ever listen, the dumb little assholes. I gave multiple reminders throughout the day yesterday, but Mrs. Doom saw two last night, and so I had to escort them both outside because they just wouldn't follow the terms of our agreement.

It's like how you go from benevolent and concerned when you first notice another driver without their headlights on, so you flash your brights a few times, and then when they don't get the hint, you instead become irate with them for being such goddamn morons. Maybe those cars are being driven by spiders?

On Delta if you’re in first and there’s no room for your shit they’ll hunt a bitch down and check it if nobody speaks up…

That's as good a theory as any, because dear god do those people piss me off.  Flash my lights at them 37 times, and they have no fucking clue what's going on.  If you flash your lights at me fucking ONCE, I'm going to start running through possibilities -- did I forget to turn my lights on?  Am I somehow puttering along in a fast lane?  Is a door ajar, something else wrong with the car?  I do it to people...and nada.  Nothing.  So, yeah, might as well be spiders.
