Whenever I have a new admin assistant start, the first item covered in the orientation is that I consider ordering Jason’s or Panera for lunch to be a fireable offense.

To me, Panera has always been a "I want something decent to eat at this generic middle american airport, but don't have time to sit down at any of the sit-down places here" place.  My wife, on the other hand, has actually asked to go there, on purpose, while we're running errands on the weekend or somesuch.  But even she was relating that in recent months -- after private equity has inserted itself in Panera's operations -- Panera has gone way downhill.

I've never had a meal there that I actually "enjoyed."  Their best is always "fine."

I'd agree with "fine", but it always was overpriced.

Thought about McAllister’s too but don’t recall if they have breakfast.

I can't think of a better way to start my day than a slightly-below-average pastrami on marbled rye and a better-than-most enormous iced tea.

Whataburger...breakfast tacos/sandwiches, burgers, grilled/fried chicken breast, fried fish sandwich, 3 different salads, deserts.  You can take advantage of the unlimited additions/subtractions to make off menu chicken fajita tacos. since those were discontinued.

Love their Breakfast Burritos with egg & cheese !
