Bennigan's was next level fine dining for most Gen-X once we grew past the Mr. Gatti's buffet. The Monte Cristo and 100 beers from around the world made us feel sophisticated. I am pretty sure most of us have a distorted memory of Bennigan’s being better that it really was.

Of all the plausible explanations for the stuff that a handful of us seem to know that’s been going on since last year this would be the most preferable scenario. You either have a massive smear campaign (all untrue and trust me it is not all untrue) or no one wanted to pull the trigger until playoff hopes were effectively DOA.

people can get mad at me, mad at others, mad at Desmond, mad at the fire coming out of Orange Bloods. This shit has been brewing long before Dianna’s driveby hit piece. These people aren’t just floating loony shit to take down sark so UT cannot have nice things. Don’t like it…fine. But it’s not just Desmond. People know things. Any time someone posts something, y’all immediately discredit them. There is a lot of smoke around this season and acting like Sark has nada to do with it is like an ostrich sticking its head in the sand bc you want to pretend things are A-ok and all will be fixed in the offseason. If remotely any of what I know all year long to be true is in fact all true he’s fucked. And we will be lucky to get out of this without looking like a literal laughingstock’s horse’s ass, also damn the new season of Landman does not disappoint. CDC is protecting his Ath Dept, the brand, and the program.  How he acts now is for us and for a potential new coach.  This is different than the Herman situation as he did not hire Herman.  Regardless of who hired/selected Sark and whether CDC was on board with it fully, he does need to show the next potential coach that he will squash rumors until there is something official for the good of the team, the program and the coach(his employee).

are you still up from the late night party, or getting an early start? surly wants to know

from my perspective, when i started seeing some tidbits after the florida game i thought it was just standard post game venom people were spewing.

i'm seeing bits right now on pretty much every outlet i go to, so me despite not knowing shit about shit, i see enough smoke to believe we're getting a new pope soon

It’s 2025 now. Having a coach that has this kind of stuff going on in his life with his past isn’t as embarrassing as it would have been 20 years ago. It’s only a problem if we continue to put up with it if it continues to affect the program.

That’s why the NFL would be an ideal landing spot for Sark. They have true off-seasons where he could take a few months off to work on his personal issues. If you take a month off as a head coach in CFB, you’re playing catch up the rest of the year and it may set the program back even more than a year, just from that month off.

I'm apathetic with Sark at this point, so whatever happens, I'm fine with it.

But Desmond Howard is not a reporter.  Let's not pretend he has sources. I'd bet that whatever he's hearing stems from the original rumors a few weeks ago. The guy is a clueless idiot.

Yeah, it's one thing if Pete Thamel is reporting it. Desmond is probably regurgitating 2nd or 3rd hand rumors from former UT players. That's why CDC got on there to knock down the rumor.

I think that’s correct.

for the record, I personally knew a few things before the season began. Didn’t feel they were post worthy. Then the season took its many crazy turns and I learned more shit and I am like “wow. There is a direct correlation to what I have heard and what’s happening with our team.” So yeah I did pile on after the Florida loss and that’s just how it is. I am not trying to take sark down. Period. As much as I might want to see if he can make changes and such if he has done these things he has to go. Sorry. Not sorry. I waited to see how the new NFL practices missing Junior day going MIA and ditching the spring game would turn out. Chances are if we had been successful I would have kept what I know that I did not originate or start or created to a handful of friends and family. Period. But when his shit bigly affects our team sorry I am not loyal to a HC no matter how fun the last two years prior to this one have been. Sorry not sorry, 😢 😡

Yes it’s all a conspiracy that ONLY started with Dianna Russini making up some bullshit and everyone is just piling on. Why not? It’s 2025. If we learned nothing from the last decade it’s “choose the reality you want not the reality that is.” Or something.

Also, the "new media" sphere of Twatter, etc. has to be confounding for someone whose job requires "image management" with the press and public.

CDC can't credibly respond to every rumor that pops up on Twatter or Reddit or whatever.  It's an impossible task for starts and would lend credibility when it's not deserved.

I don't think Desmond Howard is particularly credible, but maybe him repeating a rumor that started with another journo, whatsherface, puts it above CDCs threshold.

"Don't be surprised if that Texas job opens up at the end of the season," Howard said on social media. "You guys were shocked when LSU opened up. Imagine how you're going to feel if that job in Austin pops open. I'm not calling or saying anyone's going to get fired, maybe a mutual parting of ways."

Howard, who has never claimed to be a college football insider or a reporter of any kind, is delivering some highly-volatile news seemingly out of nowhere.

Howard made sure to emphasize that Sarkisian leaving Texas wouldn't be the result of a firing, meaning he's simply just following up on the same trail that led to The Athletic's controversial report a few weeks ago.

So all the rest is conjecture or what?

My shortcut for determining if I need to go back and read a thread to catch up and know what’s going on is to count the number of Nicole posts per page.  If it averages more than two, the answer is a hard no.

Yes. 👍🏻 and for the record I don’t want a single bit of it to be true. At all. But my main source has known both Sark and L’Oréal for over a decade. My friend  is not posting here or anywhere. My friend told me. My friend isn’t the originator of stuff. Things are messy, when things are messy more than one person tends to know how messy. I don’t know how all these people seem to know bits and pieces but my source is not the source of other people. I will stake my life on it. And my reputation such as it is or is not.

When you have a member of College Gameday spreading a rumor about your head coach and your rumored decision to part ways with him then you have to knock that down. Desmond implied Texas was ready to move on from Sark at the end of the season. CDC is saying, no...not really. Sure, anything could happen in the next two weeks if we lose out. I'd imagine CDC felt a member of ESPN saying this deserved a response that essentially clowned Desmond for spreading the rumor.

The stuff being talked about hurts more people than just sark and his wife. People don’t want to put it in print. So our best hope is there is some kind of plan where we don’t wind up looking like a horse’s asshole. Don’t have a clue what that is. Rumblings before the season among those with power have become roars according to my BMD and they feel it is related and directly responsible for our games being nearly unwatchable this season. Will he get a chance to make changes? I don’t know. But if he doesn’t. Best believe there is a damned good reason. Because with the success he had the previous two years it would seem automatic even with the failures of this season. If he doesn’t it’s because the powers that be think the off the field shit is connected to the on the field shit and they see no way he can fix it. Jmo. I am trying to connect the dots from what I know and stuff above my paygrade. And guessing at what the people above said paygrade might do.

Well in a perfect world none of this true at all and sark gets a shorter leash to make necessary changes and we rebound and win the MNC. If it’s true I would surmise that the powers that be don’t believe even with all our resources that he can fix it. I mean people would be shocked around the world outside Texas if we just parted ways save for a few who ain’t wanting to put shit in print at this time without facing some severe consequences and hurting a couple of people.

I just feel bad for him and the players. That’s all I’m going to say. If he does indeed leave, I think we need to just take a chance with Jeff Traylor. He knows Texas recruiting and recruited a lot of the dogs on Charlie’s teams. He can identify talent. I’m confident with CDC’s help, he can handle the pressure of this job. But I’m getting ahead of myself…..

Pretty much, but if you scan several message boards, you will find that some of the “so-called” insiders think there “might” be a little smoke……enough to explain the reactions you’re seeing here.  Could be anything though.  Could be other programs trying to affect recruiting and portal targets.  Who knows (other than Nicole of course ; )

Chances are this shit has been gossiped about and people in that world are like “what will the powers at Texas do if Texas doesn’t make the playoffs?” And they all discussed it off the record. Lose to Arkansas and you will see Thamel and others chiming in and probably cryptically unless they want to get people on the record for the shit. I guess?!?
