Texas A&M leads college football in alcohol revenue, per report

Texas A&M topped the list with $4,740,922 in revenue generated by 277,156 alcohol units sold.

….from a school who laughed at us when we started alcohol…..

Well,  most of us are already close to blacking out when we enter the stadium so buying a few beers ain’t gonna do too much. You uncultured weirdos don’t allow people to tailgate on the grass so that kind of lends itself to drinking more in the stadium.

So they have “reached the point where they require the numbing effects of alcohol.”

Simple arithmetic: $4,740,922 ÷ 277,156 = $17.10 per drink...can...whatever. The  jokes really do write themselves.

Have you ever bought drinks at the club behind the north end zone at DKR? It is just as bad, if not worse.

I haven't been to that club level since LSU 2019, but in the main part of the stadium I've bought plenty of shitty Aggie-esque beers for what, $6?

Maybe the sec is looking out for georgia instead.  That would be an embarrassing loss for them.

Hate to back aggy ever, but they easily could have won that game.  There was either a blatant horse collar or DPI that was missed that was a momentum killer.   I was watching it at an ags house, and remember it was a blatant fucking of them.  Almost considered feeling bad for them for a minute, then decided fuck em.

Win or lose, doesn't matter.  1 game in 16 years?  Come on, that's a seriously fucked up scheduling procedure.

agree.  Funny part is on Txaggy they get really really pissed off about missing that game every year.  Never seen a team shuck every opportunity to play a quality opponent while simultaneously complaining when they don't get an annual roadgrader team on their schedule.   Ah shucks, we didnt get that team that's going to beat us by 35 again!!!1!!   Fucking Snakey at it again!!!!1!!

I don't have the numbers handy, but I'd bet a dollar to a doughnut that our conference strength of schedule flipped with A&M in just one year, and WE PLAYED THE SAME SCHEDULE(S) AS LAST YEAR.

Be careful what you wish for.

Kind of a recruiter/developer guy?

Quote

Holmon Wiggins served as the wide receivers coach and assistant head coach of offense for the University of Alabama football team from 2019 to 2023 under head coach Nick Saban.
He joined Alabama after coaching wide receivers at Virginia Tech (2015–2018) and Memphis (2012–2015), and prior to that, he held coaching roles at Tulsa, Illinois State, and his alma mater, the University of New Mexico.
During his tenure at Alabama, Wiggins played a key role in developing several standout wide receivers, including DeVonta Smith, who won the Heisman Trophy in 2020 while under his guidance.
Smith's historic season included setting SEC records for receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns.
Wiggins also coached other first-round NFL Draft picks such as Jaylen Waddle, Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs III, and Jameson Williams.
In 2021, he was promoted to assistant head coach of offense in addition to his role as wide receivers coach.
Wiggins was recognized as one of the top recruiters in the nation, ranked No. 2 nationally by the 247Sports Composite, and was instrumental in recruiting high-profile prospects like Ryan Williams and Julian Sayin.
He left Alabama in January 2024 to join Texas A&M as co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach under head coach Mike Elko.

Was it his coaching, or the fact that he was dealing with 3-deep 5* guys?  I guess we'll see.

It does tend to make a coach look good when you have the 5*s....and the head coach as well.   Saban always knew having the best recruits made his job a lot easier...

It’s pretty close, though our schedule last year was a little harder than theirs this year.  16, 15, 13, 12, 11, 10, 6, and 1

this year they played 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8, and 5

It’s ridiculous they have only played UGA once, but I think it’s because no one outside the cult gives a single shit about them, just look at the TV numbers.  They have to balance the marquee programs with high viewership games, yet trying to be careful not to overload the schedule and harm the top resumes.

Aggie is lower mid of the conference so by the time they get to making their schedule they just cobble something together.

which is hilarious because A&M was all beating their chest about how Texas didn't bring anything to the Media deal. Whenever this thing gets upped is going to go gangbusters

Miami is going to wreck their shit along the LOS. We owned them on both sides and Miami has a much better OL and while doesn't have the depth we do along the DL, they have dudes that will make the aggy OL look bad. Without the SEC officials to cover for them, aggy will get popped for some holdings.

As much as I endorse this position,  I'm reminded that Mario Cristobal is their coach and Carson Beck is the QB.

I get it. It is the opposite of the irresistible force meets an immovable object.
