I honestly think it's complete negligence that they're even allowing him to play instead of just telling him his CTE is going to absolutely ruin his life.

I agree. After that last one last season, I really feel like the league and the NFLPA should have stepped in and refused to let him back on the field. They should have agreed to pay his salary without it counting to the cap, or the league and union should have paid it, if they actually cared about player safety. Poor guy may not make it to 55.

Not arguing the depth chart, I'm laughing at all the experts that said Quinn wasn't an NFL caliber QB.  We all know who they are.

There were people who were critical of Quinn who had reasonable takes. This isn't any kind of "own" on them because, as you point out, QB3 for the Dolphins is not exactly the peak of the NFL mountain.

But there were people who were unreasonable in their hate for the guy. They claimed he wasn't an NFL QB. Now he is. So those people were wrong and can go fuck themselves.

I know, I'm just fucking around.

Good for him if he makes it.

Absolutely. I just think about Junior Seau and this is where Tua might be at the end. The NLFPA couldn't care less about player safety or health. If he makes it to 55 I'll be shocked.

Dolphins have only cut down to 80. I think Ewers makes the team but take that tweet with a large grain of salt.

Wait.. are you trying to tell me that social media accounts with names like #1 Fin Fan shouldn’t be trusted and shared as legitimate sources?

Wait what's happening here? They made their final cuts and are at 53 now, which includes Ewers?

No, they’ve made some cuts but aren’t down to 53 yet.

Miami could also trade him instead of outright releasing him.

you went absolutely apoplectic when i said that i wouldn’t draft quinn if i were an nfl gm. you said he was a second rounder. T the end of the day quinn nearly did go undrafted, and yet *you* are in here spiking the ball after he…checks notes…barely made the cut for a team desperate for living, breathing qbs? that’s some funny shit.

Well, I guess he has owned everyone by being 3rd string behind a guy scrambled eggs for brains and a draft bust.

he hasn’t even officially made the cut, much less played a down, and the same people who swore for years that he was a future heisman winner and no.1 overall pick have now moved the goal posts to the next county as they continue to celebrate all of quinn’s massive underachievements which would only be truly noteworthy or impressive were they being accomplished by a 0* recruit who played his college ball at mount union. the number of people who are actual quinn ewers “haters” around here is very, very small. quinn ewers zealots however…

can you quote any of these people? cite any references? or are we just going to continue this thing where people like you make these accusations without ever actually citing anything? please quote at least one post where anyone here said that quinn would never make an nfl roster. if you can’t do that, then get off your high horse and quit starting shit with this nameless, faceless anti quinn cabal.

yeah that literally never happened. in fact what i specifically said was that sam would never hold down a starting job in the nfl, that he’d never be one of the 15-20 best active qbs in the world. that’s what i said essentially word for word.

you people literally make up shit that nobody has ever said, and then *you* get all upset about the thing that *you* just made up.

but like i always say: feel free to quote or cite *anything* to back up your asinine, made up, childish, combative accusations.

whenever i call someone out for being wrong i bring the receipts and respond to them directly. if you’re going to call me out, then:

a)say my name

and

b)bring some actual receipts.

you people keep making up shit that’s never happened to further your own fanatical takes, which is why you literally are never able to actually cite or quote anyone saying anything that you’ve accused them of.

so just to recap: you guys spaz out over my opiniones, you take zero accountability when you’re proven wrong, you claim to hate me and my takes and how i derail the threads and make them all about me, but then you insist on calling me out over and over, making it about me, claiming that i was wrong when i said (insert some shit that i’ve literally never said before that you just made up), and then when i actually use receipts and quoted posts to call you out, you once again melt down and beg for me to be banned.

but im the problem poster, right? lol y’all are wild.

Nice try. You started by saying he would never be a success in college, which was  statement you made when he was still a recruit. You then said he would not make it in the NFL nor be drafted. In one respect, you were correct. He has obviously not been a huge success in the NFL, but he has been successful in creating a career in the NFL, which is very difficult.

I am proud of Sam because, like Taaffe, he has overcome a lack of top-end talent with hard work and sheer grit.

I remember all slights against Chap players, because, well, I'm sad and insane.

Now I awaiting to see if @Helobious will change his stated view that Klubnik would never be a college success because he is a system QB, and @closetojumping who also thought Klubnik was limited.

Do you really need someone to find examples of you on this thread saying Ewers isn't an NFL QB? Like unless he produces posts, no one will be sure you said it?

well first of all he’s not an nfl qb yet, but second and more importantly, the argument was never “is quinn ewers going to make the 53-man cut for the team that drafts him”. that was *never* the argument, considering that the people i’ve been arguing with were calling him a first rounder and a heisman candidate. it was whether or not he would actually become a starter in the nfl. when you quote me saying, “i don’t know how you guys can watch quinn ewers and feel like you’re watching an nfl qb”, i wasn’t saying (and i cannot believe im having to explain this) that he would never ever make a 53-man nfl roster (literally nobody here has ever made this argument) but rather that he wouldn’t become a starter and hold down a starting job in the nfl.

you’re either way more dense than i’ve been giving you credit for all these years (which i don’t believe is the case), or you’re making a disingenuous, goal post moving argument, which should be beneath you.

I'm really looking forward to how pants-on-head retarded this thread is going to get around 3:00. Should be quite the show.

Dolphins are in the middle of a practice right now, and Quinn is in attendance. Pretty much all the confirmation I need.

This is not really the thread for it, but Bill Norton still has not been cut by the Rams yet. They'll probably release the remaining cuts right at the deadline, but how cool would it be if Norton made that roster?

You're projecting. I'm not saying shit about Ewers. My view on Ewers trends closer to your views on Ewers. What I am doing is laughing at you telling others how to bring receipts. As if anyone needs to bring receipts to know that you said Ewers sucks over and over. Shit, without a post, we might actually believe you think highly of Ewers. It's absurd. And it's absurd that you're trying to dictate exactly what the argument is on this thread...it's along thread, there's probably been half a dozen different arguments about Ewers's likely end result.

"The argument was never..." Ok, why don't you bring your own rules and show us receipts that the argument was only the one thing you say it was?

I'm not moving any goalposts, fuck, I don't think Ewers is going to do shit in the NFL. But watching lose your shit here is bizarre.

Believe it or not, I respect you and so many of your viewpoints. I like the way you provide stats to back up your points , especially in basketball, where I think you really excel.

But you could be more honest about some of your comments. We can't all be right about everything.

so today is the big day?

I hope he makes the cut, I hope he ends up ahead of wilson by the end of the season. that's good for texas football and I'd be mildly pleased. otherwise I don't give a shit, he's not my family and he's not my client so idgaf.

grown men being so fucking invested in this shit is kinda funny.

lol i’m losing my shit? lmao, have you met me? not a single cuss word, no insults, no all caps, no “water head retard” references, but sure, this is me “losing my shit”. lol okie dokie! and you say you aren’t moving goal posts, lmao.

look, we’ve literally never discussed in this thread whether or not quinn ewers was going to make the 53-man roster of the team that drafted him, so a)why are people spiking the ball today? and b)how exactly you think im supposed to provide the receipts for a conversation that never happened, i really don’t know.

Would you prefer me to replace "losing your shit" with "posting manically?" Would you prefer that?

Please show me taking a position on Quinn Ewers and his abilities in this thread, and then please tell me where I've taken a different position on him, thus moving the goalposts. You demand receipts when people say things about you, well, live up to your own standards here.  Find a single position I've taken, and then show where I've moved onto a different position.

I've never discussed ANY position on Quinn, the roster, etc. So stop addressing me with this shit. But if I were going to bring receipts, well, I'd bring the ones where posters were discussing something OTHER than making the 53 man roster. But hey, who am I to tell you how to do the job of bringing receipts?

I remember a poster back then arguing that Sam would never beat out Buechele and would transfer without ever playing a meaningful down for Texas. Pretty sure it was on Shaggy. Not sure if that was @Derkaor not, but this might be what you're referencing Treaty. If it was Derka, I guess it's true he never said anything about his success in college, just that it would never be at Texas.
