There was a time when I wouldn't have an opinion about this comment. But having recently spent 4 hours straight of listening to Taylor Swift music on a road trip played by my offspring tells me you are unfamiliar with The Who's catalog of music. The majority of Swift's songs sound like readings from a teenage diary. I was genuinely surprised at how immature her song writing is, even her recent work.

As a child of WWII generation parents, I find it amusing to hear who runs things in your cars.

Taylor Swift writes lyrics for pre-teens. Pete Townsend was into pre-teens. There's some overlap.

Yeah, it's crazy to be open-minded and want to listen to something before forming an opinion about it. I guess I should limit myself to music that was popular while I was in high school like many posters here appear to do.

Sir, the first three songs on my walk this morning were “A Bar Song”, “Pancho and Lefty”, and “All Along the Watchtower”, none of which were new and playing when I was in high school. How dare you!?!

Townshend.

You are not the only Surly with that thought. But, to be fair, Entwistle and Moon were far better musicians, and Moon was hugely more entertaining, while he lasted... and Tommy was far above anything Swift has shown.

Taylor Swift’s mom went to my high school in Houston. She’s quite a bit older, though.

Swift is the only blonde on my top 5 celebrity crush list. Not usually my type but there’s no denying that level of hot. She can play my huge guitar any time she wants.

Hendrix. Yeah, Dylan wrote it, but there’s only one meaningful version of that song. Poseurs like Dave Matthews Band and U2 can get fucked.

I’m someone who rolls the dice every now and then.

That’s good because if she was quite a bit younger than Taylor that would present a problem.

And now we have proof she's heinous.
