Arch Manning: Doing his best JAG impression to fool scouts

They are, but in neither instance did OU put either team to the sword (and both opponents have also played tight games with the Baylors and Nebraskas of the world).  So they are better wins but not "holy shit wins.

Agree, OU's offense was teetering on disaster multiple times against Auburn, but I suspect  we will find out that Auburn defense isn't half bad and OU has no other real offensive weapons outside of their quarterback.

What exactly are the criteria for those rankings?

Total TDs - pass + rush.  Arch sucking it up at T2.

Edit:  need to check that for accuracy

Yes I did, I read this sentence from Biff:

"I understand Mateer has 2 more "good" wins, so I guess that's why he's getting more hype right now (plus Arch shitting the bed for 2 out of 4 games), but just found it surprising.  "

Not sure why it would be surprising Mateer would be getting more praise for beating those two teams, but it wouldn't be the first thing I don't understand.

And yet you inferred that he was drawing an equivalence between Michigan, Auburn, SJSU, UTEP, and Sam Houston, which he clearly did not.

Actually, I was actually asking for clarification and worded my question poorly, but please continue with the red ass.

I saw us do an interesting wrinkle on defense against UTEP. Simmons lines up on the LT with Moore outside of him. #1 drops back into what appears to be coverage, short zone over the middle, but is really spying the QB. He tackled him for no gain when the pocket collapsed and the QB tried to escape.

We can run similar combinations of this with Simmons, Moore, Spence, and Ant Hill. Who's coming? Good luck, Mateer.

I think that would be a very good way to play him.

Also think keeping him in the pocket and making him work through progressions, make good choices, and accurate throws would work for Texas with their secondary.

His footwork and mechanics are terrible and he often seems to break the pocket in an attempt to get things down to a street ball level.

Surprising that they both have almost the same stats.

Also “good” was in quotations because, while I think those teams are better than anyone we’ve played not named osu, I don’t think they are so good as to be getting OU a top 10 ranking

Johnny Football 2.0

We'll be okay, since 0u doesn't have a Mike Evans playing WR

I suspect we're going to find out that Auburn is shitty like last year and OU would have lost to them if it weren't for the cheating.

It's hilarious that I don't recall Baker Mayfield getting nearly this much shit for way worse on-field behavior.

Arch stared a guy down for about three seconds, and he's a piece of shit.  Baker planted a flag on Ohio State's field, grabbed his nuts at Kansas players, and more, but he's just a fiery competitor.

Get the fuck out of here, national haters.  You're gonna be miserable over the next decade, watch.

Yep the national media has always hated and counted out Texas. It’s great actually id rather have them hating us then giving us rat poison.

baker grabs his dick on the sidelines and they go on about how competitive he is lol

What’s great is how blowU treats its ex players with such hate. What a disgrace

Auburn at least on defense seems good.  Offense not so much.

I scrolled up a little but didn’t see it.

Has it been mentioned the guy that arch flexed on, was flexing on arch on a tackle earlier?

I haven't read the whole thread, but this is the first I've heard of this. Puts it into proper perspective if true.

#6 got a decent hit/tackle on Arch earlier in the game, did that very deliberate step over thing, and stared him down for a beat. It's been clipped and definitely adds big context.

The simple solution to all of this is to eat the laughingly overrated inbred motherfuckers for lunch and then shit them out into the Fair Park 1920’s sewer system and let someone else sort out which is Fletchers and with is Sooner byproduct

I think Gabe Eikart (sp?) or some sooner actually posted it yesterday. I just can’t find it

The fletchers smells better.

Someone embedded it in one of these threads. I saw it somewhere.

It’s also shitty to disrespect a player or program by saying they are too poor to be treated as equals.  If your only problem is that it’s shsu then you disrespect their competitive drive and abilities by insinuating they are pitiable and Texas shouldn’t treat them like a worthy opponent.

Oh, I'm all for it.

Arch seems like the kind of guy to let that shit simmer, in a good way.

Same. It seems there were stories back in the day that Vince basically just did what he wanted because he was loose in control and the team fed off it.  Some dudes are wired like this. If Arch wants to let his nuts hang.  He can dunk on future man for all I care.  Just win baby

You don't think wins over Michigan and Auburn are better than San Jose, UTEP, and Sam?

Michigan is ass and auburns win was stolen by refs. Helmet wins are always better tho

Im still umimpressed by Mateer. What I seen from Michigan is, their defense is ass. and breaking in a true freshman QB with no real talent at WR and TE yet for him.

Auburn is meh. 10 sacks and they only won by a 7 that was given to them by the refs.

Vast majority of those were sacks because the stupid QB held on to the ball for WAY too long.

there is a reason he was chased out of norman, Arnold gettng repeatedly sacked by a defense that understood his tendencies more than any other team is not a surprise

I do think ok is better on offense than last year I just don’t see one man show beating this Texas defense unless yall tell me he’s Vince young or some shit. They still can’t run the ball conventionally. Good luck against our defense one sided. Rival games are crazy tho

1) The Sark push was a friendly thing. They were both laughing if u had the whole clip

2) I dont condone the taunt but earlier in the game #6 did the same thing to Arch after a big hit. Arch was returning the favor. yall even watch the game?

No.

It was on one of those deep dive pay services. I watch too much TV as it is. I’m not going to pay to watch even more.
