According to Jane Slater, an announcement should happen today.

I'm stunned. I'm pissed. It's Brian Schottenheimer.

Sorry, scratch that. I misread what she tweeted. But I hold the right to use this line later today or this weekend when it happens since Pete Carroll is no longer an option.

So, I guess it's only the Cowboys and Saints that need to fill a head coaching spot, if there are no snags with new coach contracts.

Cowboys have less competition. Not necessarily a bad thing, though they will likely fuck it up. But it may improve their chances of getting a break.

Pretty much the worst possible scenario, unless it comes with a new hot shot offensive coordinator and some talented younger staff members. If Zimmer/Harris are back, that's probably a plus. Game management probably wouldn't be worse, maybe a step up, but an unknown.

I misread her tweet. But there is nothing about this that could be good. This is more of the same to much worse given at least McCarthy knew how to assemble a Super Bowl winning staff. These fuckers will be flying blind. I bet Zimmer retires.

But why?  How many super bowls did Marty win?  How many conference championships?

It’s Jerry Jones, bro.

But McCarthy knew how to fill a Superbowl winning staff in a different era, and had the benefit of top generational prime qb talent, which, arguably, some better coaches could have done even better with. His philosophy was badly out of date by the time he joined the Cowboys, and the same goes for all the old retread assistants he brough with him, despite their efforts to study new trends and renew their vigor.

Zimmer would probably remain on the staff or be kept as a consultant. I could see Al Harris taking over as DC.

Carroll to Raiders... dude is 74 y/o!

Is Gruden not going to get any interest from the Jerry?

Gruden is blackballed from the NFL for his comments about the new-ish L.A. Stadium that was hosting the Superbowl which led to the release of some spicy emails from 10 years prior that someone was saving for a rainy day.

Well he's also a shitty coach

I think Gruden was a very good coach in his time. But the dude spent a decade in the broadcast booth, and when he decided to jump back in, the game had passed him by.

2002 12-4

2003 7-9

2004 5-11

2005 11-5

2006 4-12

2007 9-7

2008 9-7

Literally the definition of not literally being worse each year.  Just some years.

Just fuckin'w with ya, of course.  Chucky is a weirdo.

It was rainy that day, for sure.

***meant to edit my last post, not post again***

I've reached the point of not giving a fuck.  Born '83.  Some of my best childhood memories are Cowboy victories, Superbowls, and Thanksgiving turkey shared with family at tailgates in the Texas Stadium parking lot.

But fuck 'em.  I'm done.  My 14 year old son tapped out after this year and so have I.  I will cheer for them, but I won't give a fuck win or lose.

I liked Gruden's qb interviews and breakdowns. As a head coach, just another aging system guy, like McCarthy, and a lot of others.

I would take Marty’s corpse over Brian

I was gonna say “I’d rather have his dad as he is today” but yes you beat me to it. More lackluster BS from the boys.
