Sure is naming a lot of stuff after himself.  I hope it's because he's worried about how much longer he's going to to curse us with his presence.

People need to stop saying that.  We should all hope to the very core of our beings that Trump lives out his term for exactly one reason: 2028.

A mentally declining Donald Trump will be little more than his malignant narcissism.  People may explain to him why he can't have a third term and that he has to smooth the transition to a new Republican standard-bearer, . . . but this is Donald Trump we're talking about.  The notion that the Republican Party--much less the United States--could move on without him is more than he can possibly bear.  There is simply no way he can gracefully hand over the Party and his support to someone else.

So starting in 2027, and in ways small and large, he will undermine and diminish whoever is leading the Repubican primary--essentially trying to position himself as the only only possible nominee.  If it comes down to a contest between Cruz and Vance, for instance, he will switch his supposed support at least a dozen times.  Someone will come into the Convention with enough delegates to secure the nomination, but it probably won't happen until late.  And even then, it will be after a bitter primary contest.

And even after someone gets the nomination, Trump will subtly (and not so subtly) undermine the nominee.  Until somewhere around October 10 he'll drop the idea that people ought to write him in.  And a bunch of his idiot supporters will.  It won't be a huge number.  But it will be enough to make a material difference in anything approaching a swing state.

And ultimately, that's what Trump wants.  He wants to be the last Republican president.  Because the notion that the party can exist without him is noxious to his ego.

He hasn't even been president for a year yet. What do you think things are going to be like by 2028?

Counterpoint: it is currently 5:13 pm, and I would experience unspeakable joy if I got the news of his death at 5:14 pm.

Yeah, arrest all those people who haven't even been accused of committing a crime. Meanwhile, the guy currently in charge was convicted of 34 felonies and would have been convicted of about 50 more had he not been, you know, elected President. Fucking upside down world.

Securing peace around the world is a big one, I’m surprised it landed at #3. And also that it wasn’t enough for the Nobel committee.

TIL blowing up boats and arresting people are diplomacy.

Also when the Kennedy center renaming posts were happening, I meant to foretell that the next naval ship off the mine would be renamed to the Trump, but I don’t think I ever made the post and then he went and one upped me with an entire class of unnecessary ships.

so I’ll get out ahead of this and say the new commanders stadium will have to be trump stadium.

Probably just going to give it all to Tim Ballard so he can encourage the kidnapping of children in South America again

I was at Central Market in Southlake today for a few things that can't be found at your regular grocery stores.  It was a madhouse, of course, but what I was astounded by is that on two separate occasions, I overheard your average white NE Tarrant County denizens I live among bitching up down and sideways to their shopping partners about how expensive shit has gotten....at Central Market, in Southlake.

Now most of my average neighbors are still pulling that sweet sweet Trump lever, but if people in Southlake are bitching about how expensive stuff is, good god, what's going on elsewhere.

I really don't think that class of ship should be named after a 34 time convicted felon and twice-impeached child rapist. But that's just me.

I love how in all of the battle scenes, every weapons systems is firing.   Missiles are launching, guns are blasting and lasers are lasering.  Because that would totally happen.

So subtle, it was almost not a humblebrag. Well played SB, well played.

What about Liberation Day? The tariffs are generating so much money for the American people.

What about following through on the campaign promise to finally release the Epstein files and expose those scumbags Clinton and Gates? That’s a major accomplishment.

What about getting Erika Kirk back on the market so JD Vance can get a partner with a more suitable fabric color?

What about getting the economy to record highs and ending the affordability hoax?

Yeah, the need for anything bigger than a DDG is highly questionable.  The Ticonderoga class CG, now obsolescent, was originally considered a DDG and is to be replaced by more Burkes.

Cruiser-class replacements have been canceled twice.

Dude…have you been spying on the drawings of naval battles I did when I was 8? Because that’s EXACTLY how they looked. Tactically sound, I’m 100% confident, because I was surely a genius prodigy.

Why would someone who won the prestigious FIFA Peace Prize want an instrument of war named after themselves? Gandhi never asked the India Navy to name a battleship after him and I think we can all agree that the FIFA Peace Prize is 600% (700%?) more important than anything Gandhi ever did.
