We had a very boring conversation, in which I blathered on about the upgrades to the playground. Finally, he and his son moved away. My wife walked over to me and said, "Hey, guess what? Robert Dinero is at the playground!" I looked over and of course, that was the man I had been hanging with, haha, without knowing who he was.

He’s always been money.

I hung out with Troy Aikman in his first year in Dallas.

We stood next to each other at the urinals in Campisi’s by SMU.

Once on vacation with my family I got to meet the guy who met Andy Griffith.

Holy shit I didn't realize that was a turd I dropped in the punch bowl.
For the dim-witted among us, I wasn't referring to Grohl's pseudo-feud with his friend Taylor Swift.  I was referring to his image as one of the "good guys" of rock being permanently tarnished by his affair and how he handled it.  It was pretty off-handed, but leave it to surly to go batshit crazy.

Learn to Fly is pretty good.

I heard it was inspired by a threesome their drummer had in Cabo with some married chick and her friend.

He's 81 years old. He's probably lost about 3 inches in stature over the last 50 years.

1) De Niro is old & short.

2) The platform shoes are obviously so that he could be taller than his costar in wide shots.

I once accidentally stepped on Walter Cronkite’s foot at the old Mueller Airport, and another time literally bumped into Ted Kennedy at my school in Mexico.
Both incidents were in the early 1960s.

Saw Ed McMahon walking out of the MGM Grand Las Vegas to his limo 25 years ago. I wasn’t quick enough to rush over and bump into him though.

I once stepped on Ben Affleck's foot and also sat next to Isaac Asimov at the Tower of London. Oh, also, my grandmother was classmates with Minnie Pearl at Belmont.

So, anyway...Johntay Cook.

I stepped on this guy's foot in a club.  My life passed before my eyes, but he was cool about it.  I doubt my teenage 150 lb bad self inflicted much damage.

A couple of years ago, I got invited to cover Troy Aikman, who visited a Domain bar in North Austin to introduce his light beer, EIGHT. I enjoyed talking to him, but the reason he impressed me was because of this: The event was in a private, press area in the back of the bar. After a while, he left us and went over to the public part of the bar and started pouring his beer for fans who had come in hoping to meet him. He spent a good amount of time with them and was incredibly nice in general. Dude is 100% authentic.

If I had to hang out with a bunch of press, I'd go out with the regular folks and start drinkin', too.

Was at a kiosk at the Orlando airport next to Lee Corso checking in 10ish years ago before he started to fade. We talked ball after that in the line to go through the metal detectors for 5-10 minutes. I’ll never forget that.

Heard he signed to play football with Syracuse on his way to Canton.

Went to a high school graduation last night and bumped into a girl that I’ve probably known since we were in kindergarten (she’s now a mostly gray-haired mom to at least one high school graduate).

Her son graduated 👨‍🎓 and is going to Syracuse in the fall to study journalism (sports broadcasting?), so this hits close to home.

I once bumped into Hulk Hogan at LAX.  I was deciding what newspaper to buy at the news stand and grabbed one and turned right into him, said sorry and looked up and saw him.  He didn’t say a thing, this was during his divorce so he probably wasn’t in the best mood.

I am member of a golf club Aikman is a member of in Indian Wells.  It's a club with about 300 members so everyone knows everyone.  Aikman is an extremely nice guy.

Yeah, but have you ever stood next to him at the urinals?

I was standing in line to go through security at LAX years ago, and I hear this voice from behind say "excuse me son." Then a hand on my shoulder as Herm Edwards physically turned me so that he could move past me. He proceeded to do this to everyone in front of me as he nonchalantly cut the entire line to make his way to the front of security.

I like rock and roll and I don't particularly like Taylor Swift's music, but I respect what she does and Dave Grohl is giving embarrassing aging rock star vibes.

Don't lie to us!!! You got a whole playlist of nothing but Swift songs I bet.

Good for him. He brings his game philosophy to TSA checkpoints.

Multiple pages without a pix request for Mrs. Jumping.
This board is slipping.

I bumped into Willie Nelson coming out of the men's room at Alamo Stadium during the San Antonio Riders-Frankfurt Galaxy game on April 1, 1991. A few minutes later, Coach Landry walked down the aisle past my seat.

I bumped into Gary Barnett coming out of the men's room at the St. Louis airport in 2013.

I took a leak at the urinal next to Peter Noone at O'Hare in 1990.

Let me know if I should start a new thread.

It’s crazy how many golf courses are in the Palm Springs area.

One time my brother and I were hanging out at the Gallant Knight(?) in Houston and ended up taking MDMA with Scarface and his girlfriend. Very cool people. That’s all I’ve got.
