50-34.

We didn't get our 50th win until July 12th last year, at which point we were 50-44.  At no point were we ever 16 games over .500.

That’s because those cowards in Cleveland wouldn’t let us makeup the rain out. Grrrrrr.

please don't get swept in Denver 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Astros beat the Cubs, 2-0, and achieved the following:

- 3rd team in MLB to 50 wins
- MLB-best 19-7 in June
- 10-0 in Valdez's last 10 starts
- 9th shutout of season
- 5-1 on homestand against Phillies/Cubs
- Take 7-game lead in AL West (pending SEA game)

I hate to ever pull for the Rangers, but it would have been nice of them to scratch out a win over Seattle in the 10th or 11th, when they had every chance. Not surprisingly, they were just too limp to do so. Seattle then got 3 T12 to win 6-4. Thanks for nothing, Arlington.

sitting by philly fans - rude, loud and obnoxious. my example was boo'd as he walked out by the entire section

sitting by cub fans - loved talking baseball, asked about the astrodome, talked about this astros run, 2016, how the cubs couldn't keep it going and other ballparks.

I’m guessing there have been very few, if any, 1-0 games at Coors Field

Got me curious. There have only been eleven 1-0 games in the 30 year existence of Coors Field.

I'm surprised there have been so many. I thought at Coors they spotted each team 3 runs upon exchanging lineup cards.

I think that has to be right.

honorable mention to:

Pena and his 4th highest WAR in the majors.

Meyers batting .306 (and .264 behind in the count. Never had a season higher than .220 before this year and that was his rookie year when he only appeared in 49 games. Other years were .164, .183, and .151)

I would also say the bullpen (excluding Abreu and Hader), but as much shit as we give Dana, the man knows how to put together a bullpen of no names.

on the negative side:

Walker giving Abreu a run for his money

And of course doing all of this with Yordan appearing in only 29 games (and never really getting going), no Bregman, no Tucker.

They don’t hand out shit for what you’ve done through 81 games, but Dana has to be in the running for GM of the year to this point.

The pitching is absurd. With as many injuries as we have, the ability to trot out shutdown pitching night after night is ridiculous. 🤘

except for LMJ, the pitching this past week was just damn filthy. with help on the way 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Biggest surprise?

Seriously, who ARE these guys? We lost all these dudes to free agency and injury... and here we fucking are.

Also: Have you seen Abreu's ERA lately? I did not see that coming.

Bullpen is the only reason we are 16 games over. I expected bounce backs from Abreu and Hader, but the lefty cabal we got working has been amazing.

My #2 is Brown becoming an ace even though baseball refuses to recognize it.

Besides the pitching Jake is the biggest surprise IMO

Cam.

Jake this season is just who we hoped he'd be.

I celebrate the fact there are multiple candidates on the positive side.

Christian Walker though.  That'd qualify for a surprise, no?

Jake and Cam are worthy choices, absolutely.  But besides maybe his girlfriend, there are zero people on this planet who thought Jeremy Pena would be a legitimate MVP candidate this year.

taqueria aramdas had faith in him !

You can win a world series with them in fact.

Can't even list all of the times this has happened. A mediocre offense that finds ways to score and two lockdown starters.

The two that come to mind immediately are the '01 D-Backs and (GODAMMIT!) the '19 Nats.

It's like having a lights out defense and serviceable QB in the NFL.

Well, when Altuve isn't playing in the field, the Astros have one of the best defenses in baseball too.

I mean most around here know better by now to fall for Dana's shit but this is how i imagine him in his office when reports come out after the fact when he continually says "oh progressing good" "or coming along nice" etc.
