I know he was hurt and didn’t play the first month of the season, but not sure if he was never actually healthy or if he just isn’t good enough for the step up in competition. His qb and offense certainly didn’t do him any favors.

Probably a worthwhile take for some Big12 team in case he comes back healthy and looks like he did two years ago.

He was clearly their best WR over the spring and summer til he injured his knee in fall camp... They are stoked right now since they are sure that satenga returns.. So he along with trell (uva) and Parker gives them a upgraded WR unit from a year ago.. Add in the blocking TE from UF and another blocking TE visiting today (Yale).. They feel this offense is championship ready.

IT with an update on a few guys

Information is all over the place right now. Pull one thread, and an entirely different storyline starts unraveling.

The most discussed storyline in the Texas portal sphere is probably Cam Coleman. It’s close between Coleman, running back, offensive line, and Parker Livingstoune—but Coleman is at the center of most conversations.

Cam Coleman

We’ll start with Coleman. He has visited Texas and Texas A&M thus far. He was scheduled to see Texas Tech on Tuesday but is now expected to visit Wednesday. Given that he’s from Alabama, some are speculating he could see the Crimson Tide today, though I haven’t seen that confirmed.

What I do know is there is growing confidence within his home state that he’s going to play for Auburn’s No. 1 rival. His former offensive coordinator at Auburn, Derek Nix, has already transitioned to Alabama’s wide receivers coach. That certainly helps Alabama.

If the chatter about money not being the deciding factor is true, then Texas Tech may already be on the outside looking in. I still believe money is a very important factor—just maybe not the deciding one, at least between schools viewed as otherwise equal. I’d be surprised if Tech won out, but I wouldn’t be shocked.

Both Texas and Texas A&M appear confident. I can’t fully speak for the A&M side, but I’ve received a couple of notes related to the Aggies—one of which aligns with common sense: they have an aggressive offer in place. Despite the recent Alabama noise, there remains optimism on the Texas side. I believe Texas will be firmly within the range of acceptable offers.

I’ve heard of no firm timeline for a decision. No school holds enough leverage to force the issue. Coleman will decide when he’s ready.

It’s going to be hard to know how this will play out before he signs, but I feel relatively good about what I’m hearing on Texas right now.

Jadan Baugh Replacement Options

Texas has had some conversations with Adam Mohammed (Washington) and Makhi Frazier (Michigan State), but nothing too serious at this point.

Perhaps Texas was waiting for clarity on Jadan Baugh’s intentions before turning up the heat. Or perhaps they have something else up their sleeve. I think the latter is more likely than Texas simply waiting on Baugh before engaging more aggressively with Mohammed and Frazier.

Offensive Line

As we know, Texas isn’t limiting itself to guards in the portal. The goal is to add talent and sort out positions once everyone arrives on campus.

Jacarrius Peak (NC State) is a name to know, but his situation is likely contingent on what happens with Andrew Sprague.

Texas is visiting again today with Sprague and Jake Guernara. It’s significant they’re getting another chance after the Michigan duo met with Kyle Whittingham and Jim Harding. I think it’s most likely they end up at the same school, but I wouldn’t rule out a split.

Other Visits to Monitor

  • Rutgers CB Bo Mascoe is currently at Ohio State.

  • Wisconsin LB Christian Alliegro is also at Ohio State. He’s a big, athletic linebacker, and the Buckeyes have a compelling pitch for both players.

I do think it’s likely Texas will either receive a visit from—or make a visit to—Cade Uluave from Cal.

The staff is also meeting with Edge Jayden Woods. Woods will receive a visit from his new coaches at his old school, with Jon Sumrall expected to be joined by several new Florida staffers. There has been some optimism in that recruitment, but as we all know, that can evaporate quickly in this era.

It's former NBA player Derek Coleman. He is 6'11" and 380 lbs now...right in Flood's wheelhouse.

FWIW - This morning Bobby confirmed what CTJ told us the other day - Texas got the Wyoming OL on campus and decided his actual body didn’t match his listing.

Very different wording of what you say Booby is saying vs what CTJ is saying; Bobby is saying that the measurements of the OL were much larger than the actual player, while CTJ is leaving that pretty critical detail out.

Nope, they still think that he is a championship QB. In fairness, he was able to cobble together a 10 win season, but he gets exposed against good defenses. They are in the same echo chamber as A&M regarding their QB. The stats don't really tell the whole story.

Bummer. A few people on here (feels like about 80 pages ago) were saying he's a good looking player.

Just reviewed the roster again. The OL, and guard/center position in particular, is one of the worst situations I’ve seen in Texas roster history. They can’t even field the position. It’s ridiculous. I can’t believe there aren’t five other OL in play right now, or maybe there are. It’s the worst management of a position I’ve ever seen.

They overrate their WRs every year and this coming year will be no different. Sategna is mid as fuck and he and Livingstone are basically brown and white versions of the same player. The guy from Virginia looks pretty good. They have dogshit at TE and dogshit at RB. Their OL flat out sucks.
