Not strictly transfer related, but significant roster news

  • This kind of shit from our fanbase wears me out. Sark took over a lost program and since we've been to 2 semis and should have been in the playoffs this year but for a committee that doesn't understan

The comments on X are pretty funny.

Watching how Deboer reloads his roster, assuming he isn’t murdered by an Alabama fan in his sleep, is going to be interesting to watch.

they'll put a for sale sign in his yard and park a U-Haul in front of his house first.

I hope this is one of those deals where he makes it to campus and Sark doesn’t let him leave until the deal is done.

A motivated Coleman, with a real quarterback, would be something to behold.

Not so patiently waiting/hoping for the news that Goosby is coming back next year instead of heading to the NFL.

In 2 seasons he's lost as many games as Saban lost from the 2011 season through the 2016 season.

Of course the inbred goobers in one of the dumbest states in the dumbest country on the planet aren't going to understand Saban retired because even he knew he was cooked once he wasnt able to buy all the top talent cheaply anymore.

They're definitely going to try to kill DeBoer

“The portal is open from Jan. 2 to Jan. 16, while the College Football Playoff is happening. It closes before the national championship game. Players on those two teams can enter the portal from Jan. 20 through Jan. 24.

Players need only to enter the portal during the window. They don’t have to choose their school during that time. However, the school calendar plays a role if players want to participate in spring practice.”

We can sign them right away? UTs calendar seems to suggest they need to sign with us by Jan 20 to be in Spring semester? Other than those players, we might sign players from this portal until when, realistically?

I’m sure there’s a couple hillbillies too impatient to wait for U-haul to open up this morning.

lol how many taunting calls does this guy get?! Awesome film

FWIW, someone on one of the UT boards (can’t find the link) mentioned they think Flood was saved by the high portal needs at OL, which is a bit counter-intuitive. They were concerned that if they replaced him, then getting enough OL out of the portal might have been more difficult, or at least more uncertain.

Unless it comes from Bobby or Gerry it’s trash. The collective IQ of the posters at OTF is about a click or two above room temperature. Even visiting Orangebloods makes someone’s IQ suspect.

Flood is Sark’s emotional support animal. Firing him was just something he couldn’t bring himself to execute. Don’t overthink it.

This kind of thinking never works for anyone... but maybe it will for us.

I'm not proud of this, but visiting there and reading the comments has become something of a guilty pleasure for me. I don't know where those people came from or how they all coalesced there but it's something to behold.

Fun comparison from our POV, here's what a Purdue site is looking at in the Portal

If we don’t get 10 Portal commitments today I’m going to kill myself.

Opposed to the constant updates that we are in pursuit of Cam Coleman?

So Purdue only needs most of their two-deep from the portal. Shouldn't be a problem.

Are we seriously attempting to sign both Brown and Baugh, along with Coleman? I know we're not fucking around but Jesus.

Bobby said earlier today no one sais Coleman would be the only WR taken.

I already forgot that Owens was in the portal. Or even existed

Per a source, Connor Robertson is meeting with Texas about his future today. He walked at senior day but has one year of eligibility remaining. He was very reflective and sentimental after the A&M game, but walking at senior day is not binding. Robertson is a local kid and a big Longhorn, and the source said he’d prefer to stay.

Uhhh do we want Robertson to stay?

Kind of depends on if we think Cruz is ever going to pan out. But a nearly free backup C with experience isn't a bad thing.

Source tells Horns247 Auburn transfer LB Robert Woodyard is setting up a visit to Texas for next week after visiting Kentucky and Missouri this weekend.

I’d take him back as a back up C. If he wants some kind of guarantee to start, he can kick rocks.

As a cheap swing interior OL for depth, yes

Source tells Horns247 Jerrick Gibson expected to visit Purdue on Jan. 3.

We're hearing Connor Stroh looking at Kentucky and Northwestern

Problem is Flood will start him at C until we lose a few games because our OL sucks. I would rather he we go get a real C in the portal that can get a good push up front so we can actually consistently run the ball.
