We dont play them in game 1 of Omaha, we would  play the 7 seed, which is Goergia/Ole Miss. We would then play the winner of LSU/Arkansas. What a stacked group that is though. Hopefully some upsets happen.

You are right we would play Georgia, brain sharted

You never want to play those west coast teams if it can be avoided....but, we are home....

That used to be true.

These days though the west coast schools seem to be having problems keeping the top players in their region to stay home.

Breaking News: Texas A&M has accepted a bid to the baseball NIT.  The Aggies, defending almost-national champions, have been named the #1 seed in the field and will host SMU in a 3-game series at Olsen Field Friday-Monday.

Winner plays UTEP?

Vandy at 1 is fucking sham

Vandy literally has 4 more losses than us. Fucking dumb

So let me get this straight, Vandy wins a tournament nobody cares about. Lost 4 more games than us and lost more SEC series than us. They also got swept by Arkansas. They are #1 for what reason? Other than to give us the middle finger

U mad, bro?

Pretty fucking terrible tournament balance when one side of Omaha could be LSU, Arkansas, Texas, and Georgia, and the other side could be Vandy, UNC, Oregon State, and Auburn. Gtfo here.

same thing happened in softball.

Chairman of the basketball selection committee’s school is the last team in that tournament

Chairman of the baseball selection committee’s school is the first team out in this tournament

Interesting take by the committee regarding UConn.  They had the 2nd best RPI of the 8 teams vying for last 4 in, last 4 out, yet they held their record against top 100 RPI teams against them.

Does RPI matter or not?

Gata is generally content being in Coastal Carolinas regional.  Which could be a mistake. That is a confident dangerous program who will not have jitters being there.    I can’t imagine we would take them for granted.

If we win the thing we probably get to play Auburn in the super.  I would prefer seeing teams we’ve never played before - at least until Omaha.

UConn took 2/3 from Miami in Coral Gables. It’s baseball and anybody can have an off weekend but that is pretty brutal for UConn (41st RPI) to get left out and Miami (40th) to get in. Especially when Miami lost 6 of their last 7 games

does anyone see a bracket online with RPI beside team?

I'd probably rather have a mid major these days as the #3.  getting a major conf team usually has more pitching depth than a mid major and even more so in NIL era.

they messed up having Texas, LSU, Tenn, Ark all on the same side of the bracket.

Lol, we are at home. Not worried

When we didn't know what they were last time, irvine beat us at home.

Schloss better fucking remind the team about that if we face them here again in a super regional.

This is why conference tourneys suck.

They need to follow the SEC football model and run it like an old 6-team-regional in a domed stadium somewhere:

Take the 6 bottom feeders in the conference and have them fight it out for the SEC's autobid as their prize.

The regular season conference champ is never going to need an autobid anyway.

That game wasn’t at home. It was in Round Rock.

That's a distinction without a difference. ATX metro area.

DFF was unavailable because of the construction remodel.

UC Irvine also beat us in the opening game in Omaha in 2014

We got em back a few days later. Hollingsworth let his nuts hang and Hinojosa hit a fucking bomb. That was a really fun Omaha run.
