Inka is correct. We will need folks to help out in the coming weeks. I look forward to meeting him and his buddy in person.

Also, if you would like to donate, Liquid IV would be great. It is hot asf and humid with all of the water in the atmosphere and just being out in the heat for a few minutes whips your ass. I helped unload 500 cases of water and Gatorade Saturday and was pretty much done for the day.

Hold on, I had your CERT Manager tell me he did not need any. They had enough.

We came in with 25 boxes. Most are with Connie. We have more coming in tomorrow straight to her.

You shoudl run in. Their shitters are not working. Walked the plant today. Man.......

Nothing sucks like a flooded wastewater plant.  I just had a flashback to the aftermath of Harvey and a couple of other big rain events in my career.  I imagine that there's ruined motors and electrical gear all over the plants that will have to be replaced.

TCEQ has, or had, a list of A licensed operators who volunteer to help out in situations like this.  Unfortunately, due to some family business I cannot do so right now.  But I'm sure that the supervisors or directors of all of the affected plants have been in touch with TCEQ, so they should have some help coming.

I'll take 12 double cheeseburgers - add grilled onions and japs, 12 fries, 16 sides of special sauce and 6 banana breads.

For every dollar you donate, my law firm will donate two.

We’re looking to raise $18,000 by collecting up to $6,000 in donations to the Kerr County Relief Fund operated by the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country. Go to the following link to make your donation and in the section at the end regarding “Tribute Information,” enter “Slingshot Law” and choose to notify angie@slingshotlaw.com.

https://cftexashillcountry.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=4201

Done.  Thank you for the opportunity to give something that will go directly to the community.

Based on a couple posts from yesterday, it sounds like volunteers aren’t needed at the moment? How long is that likely to be the case? I planned to drive up to help clear debris tomorrow and Thursday. Is that not recommended? If not, would it be better after a couple more days once the initial round of volunteers taps out? Any good links around where someone is posting for volunteer signup or something of the sort? I’ve sent money and supplies, but I’ve still got my body and a bunch of gear I can put to use, just don’t wanna get in the way.

Might be some advice on helping out you were looking for in the other thread, Squish:

Don't go in unless you know someone specific.

Hope House is raising funds to recover and rebuild after the storm. Donations can be made at www.hopehousekids.org.

Hope House, a group home that has served profoundly disabled children since 1966, was one of the hardest-hit facilities in the area.

Early Saturday morning, floodwaters began pouring into the building. The 13 medically fragile children living there, along with three staff members, were evacuated by a combination of military helicopters from Fort Hood and local emergency crews.

If you made a contribution, but didn’t complete the “Tribute Information” and enter the info in the notification section, please just email a screenshot or your receipt to angie@slingshotlaw.com.
We didn’t receive email notifications from several of the folks who said they were donating and we want to make sure we make all the 2 to 1 matches we promised. Thanks for your help!

Thanks. I have my receipt and trust I filled things out properly, that being said, that's a janky looking website and I'd love a list we can compare against to make sure nothing was lost in between. Yes, I know you're not Bob Lives, just talking out loud.

Feel kinda dumb. Which volunteer org is this form linked to?

I get emails from the Luck folks, and they sent me this. They're sort of a music & cultural community in Willie Nelson's Luck, Texas, outside of Austin. I'm sure there are posters here who know them personally.

Hi. My employer (80,000 employees worldwide) has set up a giving campaign that will give to Team Rubicon, American Red Cross, WCK, and The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country.  Donations accepted through 7/25.

my question for those in the know, is should I email requesting any other local entities be added to the list of funded organizations?  No clue if they’ll listen, so a pitch might also be good.

eta:  directed donations are also allowed so I can send a teams to my group of any specific orgs.  I’ll read through the thread now looking for some groups.

edit 2:  looks like hope house might be one.

Hi Pato,

Blind Faith Foundation is local in Ingram. Inka met some of our team yesterday at City West. If your company would like to make a donation, we would appreciate that very much. We will be helping folks after everyone else leaves.

Thank you!

Large corporate employer- what do you think?  I’m sure I’ll be pissing in the wind by asking corporate giving for small local inclusion.

@West Kerr Horn does your org have a landing page I can direct to?  Google search returns some social media pages and charity rating pages that don’t have much on you, and a .org page that seems to just be a go daddy unused page.

are you set up to receive money from foundation of the hill country?

In a case like this involving a large employer, I think your best move is to advocate for money to be given to the community foundation who can then distribute the funds to vetted local organizations in the front line. Obviously, I can’t speak for every community foundation, but the ones I’ve had involvement with do really good work and are pretty efficient.

Hi Pato,

Full disclosure. Blind Faith has been a ministry for us for around 2 years. We mainly have been helping Kerr County residents with food/assistance. Then the river tsunami happened.

My friend Tim is an Ingram resident that used to own Nature Blinds, which manufactured hunting blinds. Tim’s wife Sandy passed away 6 years ago and he sold the business. His heart is helping people and he started Blind Faith. Our main funding has been through James Avery Foundation and local churches.

We have some infrastructure-two warehouses for storing food, supplies etc. And we have a pretty rudimentary website. Pretty bare bones. But we have big hearts and desire to assist others in our community. Are we like Red Cross-hell no. Do we have shiny offices and high paid fundraising. Nope.

I still work full time, so this is a ministry for me personally. We are not associated with any church or group and our plan is to stay independent from any church. All of our team attend the same church in Ingram.

We would appreciate any donation that you can give. It will 100 percent go to those who need it.

Thank you.

CityWest Church is legit. @Pato del Muerto  Let him direct you. These groups are real.

Their logistics right now suck.
