God, could you imagine how boring like, Wyoming history would be?

from 1826 to 1869 the land that would become the territory of wyoming was center-stage in the non-coastal history of the trans-mississippi

9 of the 15 mountain man rendezvous were held in what would become wyoming

south pass on the continental divide was the common point for 90% of the land traffic heading west before the golden spike

fort bridger during the utah war was the largest us army encampment between 1815 and 1861

A few team notes from IT

Star is a point of contention among fans and one notable analyst

So far, it’s essentially been a mix of Jelani McDonald and Graceson Littleton, depending on the offensive personnel on the field.

One source noted, “I’ll just say the coaches trust Littleton a lot.”

Curious that IT doesn't mention Taaffe at nickel whereas OTF emphasizes him getting reps at the position. Since all the above have gotten reps there, perhaps this means McDonald and Littleton are more likely for Ohio State? Assuming these notes are from this week prepping for game 1. If Littleton can hold down the position, it will be huge for flexibility over use of McDonald and Taaffe.

Will be interesting to see how they're situationally allocated. Can't wait.

When Young spoke candidly, everyone listened and responded. The season before, in 2004, the Longhorns trailed Oklahoma State 35-14. Brown opened the locker room doors and was about to give a halftime speech.

"'You ain't got to say s---, we know what the f--- we got to do," Griffin remembered Young saying as he cut off Brown. "It's hilarious now, but in the moment, you're like, 'Did he really just say that?'"

In the second half, Texas outscored the Cowboys 42-0.

I had my bachelor party in Austin that weekend... I fucked up and took my a&m tix instead of OSU tix... FML

Watched 1H at BW3 with a bunch of OSU fans... Shitty way to start a bachelor party weekend.

We made a halftime adjustment and went to Yellow Rose... We were the only dudes in the place for what turned into the greatest game watch and after party I've ever been to.

I love Vince Young.

Conoco and Phillips are Oklahoma home grown oil companies started in the late 1800's. Jed Clampett sold his fortune to Mr. Brewster in Tulsa, the 'Oil Capital of the World." Oklahoma is similar to Texas in that there are multiple producing formations, stacked like pancakes. There are no dry holes in Oklahoma; the only question is how much produced water you have to get rid of. West Texas Intermediate looks like the oil after a 2 year oil change. The Oklahoma Sweet oil produced around Ponca City, Conoco's home, is a golden-greenish-yellow color, and looks Quaker State 10W-40 that comes out of a can. It's the second most popular thing to come out of Ponca City, Oklahoma; Candy Loving being the first.

The smaller independent oil companies are the meat in potatoes in Oklahoma oil & gas production, many of which have had their fortunes since well before I moved there in the late 70's. Yes, there are plenty of trailer parks, just like any other place. But there is also an underlying wealth that is for them to know, and for you to find out about.

Harold Hamm was the youngest of 13 kids born to a share cropper, didn't go to college, and started his own company at 21. He is worth ~ $18.5 Billion.

Yeah, Harold didn't go to college, but I bet his kids did.

Make no mistake, there is a lot of money up there.

It’s Klubnick and the schedule. They are the most likely team to make the playoffs. Clemson will run over the ACC. I am not convinced they can win a NC, but they are my favorite to be the #1 seed in the playoffs. I’d be shocked if they lost 2 regular season games

I wouldn't be. Their schedule isn't a joke and they went 9-3 last season and escaped by the skin of their teeth in the ACC title game. Klubnik is great but he was already great or close to it last year. How much better really are they going to get around him? Granted Klubnik could have some absurd season and patch over a ton of stuff.

They have 5 legit tests:

LSU at home

@GaTech

SMU at home

@Louisville

@SCAR

And a couple wildcard games in @UNC and FSU.

Their schedule does shake out well in that most of those games are spaced out so I think like them to get to Charlotte and win the ACC again but frankly I'd be shocked if they ran the table and I think 10-2 is much more likely than 12-0.

Was Jim Bridger the mountain man who was mauled by a grizzly?

But they have Jesus on their side

How will that help them against vaguely religious schools such as SMU, Duke and Furman? What is Jesus supposed to do - root for BOTH teams?

What if they play Notre Dame in the playoffs? WHAT THEN?

I don't disagree with any of your post.

I only included aggy as 1 of the 4 that left the B12, blaming Texas for everything as they slithered out the door.

I lived in Colorado for 3 years, when they were good. Too bad Rick Neuheisel fucked that up. He had a monster going.

I bought some new Python Boots before I moved up there in the 90's. I knew what they thought about Texan's, and I didn't want to disappoint them.

I was talking to a colleague one day, and he said something like, "You damn Texan's are all alike! Texas this, and Texas that! Why are you guys like that? Do they teach you that shit?"

"As a matter of fact, they do. Texas History in 7th Grade.

"Oh..." he replied, somewhat. surprised. "I have to be honest ... I'm jealous. Every person I've ever met from Texas is like that. I just wish I was from a place like that, where everybody had that much pride.

The Film Guy channel seems like it's really gaining momentum. Dude's probably going to go from 50 to 100k followers this college football season.

The Bobby boys at OTF just hit 100k
