Georgia has how many sacks this year from their DL?

Georgia had 37 sacks last year. 13 of them came against us. Their pass rush obliterated us while looking average in other games, and there's no reason to believe it will be different this year.

Given their body of work, LSU is just not a good offense. Nuss should not have returned. That said, Kiffin has his best team in his Ole Miss tenure.

Bama is going to be a problem. DeBoer is a fantastic coach. I was hoping the Finebaum army of rednecks would run him out of town before he got it going.

Biggest shock in that game was Bobo not using the QB run game much. Bama has really struggled with that. Georgia still ran the ball well. Might have led to a little more scoring had he paid attention to the scouting report early in the game. He wore that front down, but a too little too late

We don't need much from this offense to be a playoff caliber team. Just basic competency. With an actual semi-productive offense, somewhere around last year, we can win the national championship.

I am on the other side of this. I think we are in the trough of the offensive cycle. Overall defenses are doing a much better job on things like RPOs that led to offenses having the upper hand. Feels to me like the team that can consistently put up 24-28 pts in the playoffs will win the NC.

I wouldn’t read much into Ark. They are basically the Taylen Green show. When he is playing well they are dangerous. They are not good when he is off his game. He is also been inconsistent, but his highs are some of the best in the country. Ark showed some quit yesterday. They know their coach is a dead man walking. Ark is going to be a front runner team. Give them early confidence and you will probably have a 4Q game on your hands. Get them down early and your 2nd string will be playing in the 4Q. Hoping to see this play out with Florida on Saturday. They are on the brink

I don't think we're saying anything too different.

No one looks great, but so far it looks like the national championship is Ohio State's to lose.

If Texas plays OSU in the playoffs I think Texas beats them by 17.

I think you're probably right - but we still outplayed and significantly out gained them, including those two horrific stops inside their 5 and another 4th down stop on the edge of FG range. With just basic competence on offense, that game very well could have ended 28-14 Texas, and that's not even considering the possibility of the version of Arch that hit those throws to Endries and Livingstone playing the whole game. If the offense really clicks and does so consistently, I wouldn't bet against us.

IF.

I think all the teams on the back half of the schedule will be wishing they played Texas week 1.

Correct. Stockton could have run for 75ish yards and that probably flips the game.

The 2025 Texas team?   Little early to be drunk

Oregon looked the most dangerous this weekend but Penn state is dog water. Lanning is a good coach

None of the opponents Texas has beaten this season have a win over an FBS team. If Texas beats Florida on Saturday, that stat still holds true.

I feel like you haven’t watched much CFB this year. Or last year. This Bama team had their pants pulled down and were buttfucked in public against FSU. They were fucking bullied all game in the trenches.

Now Bama is elite? Georgia has how many sacks this year from their DL?

You’re looking at helmets and reacting. Georgia does not have a great defense this year and they’re struggling getting pressure.  Bama always looks like this against Georgia. They looked like this against Georgia last year and jumped to #1 in the rankings. They also lost 4 games, badly. That’s on par for that team and that personnel this season.

All of this.

basically there isn’t some elite unbeatable team.  If Oregon had run away last night or Even won 17-10 I’d feel a bit different about them.  But Allar is not good.

Most of the hang wringing comes from the fact that we haven’t seen this team play a complete game yet or know what we are capable of.  Yeah we had some cupcakes but it wasn’t with our roster healthy.

This is the simple truth. Show us another SH state outing…or hell even a San Jose state outing 2 weeks in a row and we’ll feel better

That wasn’t even the point of his post.

Like why even bring that up?

Miami has been the most impressive team in the country. They have NFL bodies on both lines. Ohio State next and then everyone else looks about the same. We have as good an upside as anyone with the most impressive bodies on defense that I’ve seen, but we don’t look any better than the rest of the pack so far.

Why, exactly, is Penn St ranked two spots above us?

It doesn't really matter what they are ranked. They are losing 11-1 and 11-8

Well, Pittman has been fired and one of their best WR's, Jalen Brown broke his tibia and fibula yesterday. I'd say even if Arch isn't even mediocre we beat their asses. They're fucking God awful. If you switched Florida and Arkansas jerseys, you wouldn't even see a difference. Both are chimpanzee diarrhea.

Correct, and Georgia wasn’t elite last year either. Which is what was being discussed.

Florida will be our first real test after tOSU, but I don't expect much from their offense with or without Lagway.

Miami and LSU didn’t exactly mudhole Florida.  If Florida even has a basic functioning offense, where their QB doesn’t throw 5 interceptions in a game, the outcomes of those games could be very different.

What is going to be frustrating is that Miami and LSU got a lot of good will in the media for what now look looks like a very unimpressive win against UF.  Let’s say we win by 10-14 on the road with a team that has its back against the wall, the media talking points will be that we barely got by a bad Florida team.   But whatever, let’s go fuck them up.

I've been saying since last year we need to do a tush push with a TE or whomever has the strongest lower body strength.

Yeah Hurts works so well because he’s a strong tough mother fucker with great lower body strength.

Just like wild horns was a thing for a while this push style short yardage thing could become a specialty for a guy like Gibson.

The Bama coaching staff gets their pants pulled down by running QBs. I absolutely expect Vanderbilt to put up more points on them than Georgia did.

Saturday will be a great atmosphere in T-town.  The Bammers have had this one circled for a year and now with a W in hand after Athens, watch out.

I wish Sark would get Townsend more involved in the offense, even if it's some gadget play. That kid is a weapon. For all I care, line him up in the back field and I bet he scores. He's a freak, and a tough mf'er.

said this a week ago or something like that. This kid is physical. He gets after it, which is shocking based on his HS film. He still has work to do on blocking, but it is not for a lack of effort. Always thought of him as an athletic pass catching TE. Just like to see him get rewarded for the dirty work, especially since he is the most athletic TE.

Give him all of Shannon's snaps. We don't need an extra blocking surface who isn't a plus blocker and isn't a threat to catch the ball.

He said at the dinner he goes easy blocking in practice because they are his "teammates" and "he doesn't wanna hurt his teammates" lol

I cannot imagine how much money I would have lost to you, if you bet me he would be the designated blocker this year.

Georgia vs Alabama was the most physical game I have watched all year.  Simpson looks like he has improved dramatically over the first game.

Texas definitely can out physical both those teams on the defensive side of the ball but will need improvement in the run game and from Arch to separate on the offensive side.

I agree with whoever posted about there being about eight teams with legit shots to make a run.

Next part of the season should be fun.

Where does Ryan Wingo rank in the WR room? To me Moore is far and away the best receiver on the team. Is Wingo a more complete receiver than Jagg & Mosley?

From Bobby's post today Cole Hutson is back at center starting so we didn't use this time to make any interior changes and running with Stroh at LG.

I think we have 15 scholarship OL. It’s really hard for me to believe that Stroh is better than 10 of them.
