Someone posted the Warnock tweet earlier but its so outrageously low effort to post that as a Senator. "Someone sent this to me." Spoken truly like someone who relies on the flock to give him his lifestyle.

He did no homework to see if its the same plan as one states HSA and another doesn't, and he has zero details about what the person entered as their life situation. 2025 could be single no smoking and no dependents and 80 years old with no income, and 2026 is the HSA version where they could have selected smoking and any number of dependents, 32 and making 65,000.

I have noticed a theme the last few years. Maga IRL doesn't say much more than the talking points of the day. When asked the solution, they cannot and will not put themselves out there. If it is breaking news, they have nothing. I ask why? Am I misreading the situation? Is it salient thought they are gathering? Is it something else. I honestly ask this because I wonder if they realize it. Are they so much smarter than everyone or are they waiting to hear the response they need to parrot? If they are serious folk, they should be able to reflect and react with a coherent core standing belief about a situation.

What I have seen it is grievance based but nothing that helps them or furthers anything but pain for whatever enemy of the day. Illegals or mythical radical left.

Well its probably because your previous posts seemed to imply you didn’t  understand Senate rules as well as a 3 toed Neaderthal.  I am glad that you are now in agreement that the shutdown is 100% in GOP control!

P.S.  Nothing in this post is a threat in any way!!

You know, the MGT thing is interesting to me. People come to Washington and get cynical, or corrupted, or jaded, but nobody serves in congress and stays uninformed.
So what happens when a profoundly ignorant, high energy, low impulse control person gets elected and the veil is slowly pulled from their eyes?

They start spouting talking points that align with a substantial portion of the CR “liberals”?

Only a catastrophically naive leftist dildo could find the simple jack q&a technique a “understanding” of Senate rules.

My narrow, personal concern is whether I should try to get a hiking permit for an area that’s permitted even for day use through October 15. A friend from Austin arrives tonight and I’d like to take him. Will anyone answer phones? Who’s mind minding the store? I hate dissing the docents. Should we just show up? Does permitting continue during anarchy?

Well yea.  He was directly asked why the GOP can’t pass the budget and his response as “well you see there is this thing called the senate…” which indicates he believes the senate is the obstacle.  With 53 GOP votes and the ability to modify/override/eliminate the filibuster at anytime with 51 votes, this is just inarguably wrong. I know we all agreed no math but even in the age of Trump 51<53.

An analogy is the purchase of the house I am sitting in right now.  My wife and I set a arbitrary budget for a house.   We saw this house and it was a bit more than that number.  We both really wanted it, so as the majority in our relationship, we voted to alter the number, and wallah.. here I am scratching my balls!

MTG, a steroid using Neadrathal understands this to be a fact but he either doesn’t … or is to invested to admit a simple inconvenient fact.

I’d stay after it.  “The Republicans can modify Senate rules” is a real winner of an argument.  No wonder yall keep getting fucking steam rolled.

Exactly.  They are in complete control.  Nuke it, negotiate it, whatever.  Bottomline, they own it and no amount of “well there is the Senate….” changes fact so simple, even a caveman gets it.

You have the majority.

You can pass legislation without Democrats.

This is on you and the public agrees.

Not those precious Senate rules!!  Here is a list of the recent times the GOP has modified those sacred precious senate rules to get what they want.  I will venmo you $100 for each one you can demonstrate your documented expressed shock at this travesty of tradition!

*Offering you money is in no way to be construed as a physical threat.

  • 2017: Supreme Court nominations. In April 2017, Republicans used the nuclear option to eliminate the 60-vote threshold for Supreme Court nominations. This occurred during the confirmation of Neil Gorsuch, after Democrats filibustered the nomination. The move extended a 2013 decision by Democrats that had eliminated the 60-vote requirement for lower-level nominations.
  • 2019: Post-cloture debate time. In April 2019, Republicans used the maneuver to reduce the debate time for some presidential nominees from 30 hours to two. The change affected nominations to district courts and sub-Cabinet executive branch positions, but not Cabinet-level or appeals court judges.
  • September 2025: En bloc nominations. In September 2025, during the second Trump administration, Republicans again used the nuclear option to expedite the confirmation process for numerous presidential nominees. This change allowed the Senate to confirm multiple nominees for sub-Cabinet and ambassador positions in a single vote, bypassing individual votes and the 60-vote threshold that had previously applied to bloc nominations.

Why do people keep saying this?

Majority can only be used for Budget Resolution once a year... And that was done for the Big Beautiful Bihh.

60 votes are now required to pass a new bill or CR.

If the Republicans that weren't going to support the BBB would have held ground, they could have packed a bill now with all kinds of shit and run it through.

They shot their wad early (no judgements, it happens) and now the government is in the refractory period that the vast majority seemingly voted for. We like destroying nice things instead of sharing them.

Republicans can change that any time they want.

Unless, of course, they don't have the votes.

DM each other. Go fuck in a Hampton Inn. I don't care. But stop.

“Loneliness is listening to other people fuck at a Hampton Inn.”

An all-time great turn of phrase.

I’ve had several recent conversations with friends who are falling into the same trap as Bozo. “My rational, educated buddies want to support Democrats, but can’t bring themselves to do it because of [insert anti-woke propagandist canard of the week].”

The problem isn’t Democrats. The problem is your friends are fucking stupid. Stop indulging them. Stop being polite. Lead. Help them understand that what they’re hearing and seeing is bullshit propaganda designed to have them doing exactly what they’re doing: staying on the sidelines while fascists take control.

Well, I don't think it's bozo's friends we're talking about.  It's the electorate.  Over which bozo, you, and I have no influence.

Dems have the smart people captured already, even if a bunch of us don't really like them.

And the MAGA base is irretrievable until Trump dies.

There is some "persuadable middle" that made the difference in the last election.  They're dumb as fuck, but not as hateful as MAGA, mostly.  And while I love Warren, myself, I recognize that I'm a geek and wonk and that she just didn't have the "rizz" or whatever during her campaign to reach that persuadable middle.
