Usually if in the Caribbean to the Dominican Republic or Haiti. Then they re transport.

Pacific into Mexico.

Some do make it to the US, which amazes me with the Maritime patrolling (air and sea) we do.

Most drugs come in via ports on container ships or overland.

Just take one look at a container freighter or the line of freight trucks waiting to come across the border.

There is no stopping it without completely closing the borders,  and even then they'll just find another way.

U.S. military officials required to sign NDAs tied to Latin America mission: Reuters

U.S. military officials involved with President Donald Trump’s expanding operations in Latin America have been asked to sign non-disclosure agreements, three U.S. officials say, a development that raises new questions about a military buildup that Venezuela fears may lead to an invasion.

The step is highly unusual, given that U.S. military officials are already required to shield national security secrets from public view, and comes as lawmakers in Congress say they are being kept in the dark about key aspects of the mission.

Soooo when do we just start indiscriminately murdering drug dealers here instead of giving them due process?

It's coming, man.  But they won't be mere drug dealers.  They'll be "terrorists."  And quickly under that umbrella will be "people who publicly disagree with the regime."  The playbook has been written and followed countless times before, and we're following it to the letter.

Any time the word/abbreviation NDA comes up in connection with Donald J. Trump, you can rest assured that crimes are being committed.

Why does he need one when operating as POTUS, when the Supremes gave him cart blanche?

That might mean trouble for Whiskey Pete down the road if they were actually killing drug runners.

Blinding glimpse of the obvious, but for Trump's stated objective of waging war on cartels (and allegedly cartel-friendly governments), this is extraordinarily cowardly and ineffectual.

Only the fact that this occurs in international waters prevents these strikes from being major diplomatic incidents and obvious international crimes.  I mean, they're already crimes, but striking sovereign territory would a) put Trump's money where his mouth is and also b) secure an international arrest warrant.

AP journalists have revealed the US once tried to turn Nicolás Maduro’s personal pilot against him, in hopes he’d divert a flight and deliver the despot into US custody. (AP)

The plot (initiated under Biden) mirrors last year’s capture of Sinaloa Cartel boss ‘El Mayo’. The decision to leak the details now likely stems from the fact the pilot ultimately refused, and publicising the plot would still fuel Maduro’s paranoia.

Gov of Rio and a lot of the Brazilian right recently also started using the term narcoterrorism to describe gangs not doing terrorism. Curious!

Worst kept secret in the world.  I'm sure all the drugs and cartels are in the same spots they were in two weeks ago when POTUS started bragging about how he was gonna swing his big military dick around soon.  Just like those Iranian nukes were.

It actually says "military installations."

But that's fine, because he'll make up more bullshit that the Venezuelan military is in cahoots with TdA or some other narco-terrorist organization.

And now that he is going to commit undeniable acts of war, what's his plan for the humanitarian problem this is going to cause?

Ain't no desperate/starving civilians if you just kill them too.  Which is fine, because they're also terrorists.  QED.  Problem solved.  And....scene.

1. Trump doesn't give a shit about drugs

2. Drugs make money

3. Trump cares deeply about money

4. Follow the money of who benefits from us shutting down this supply

I know the kids are into the retro shit these day but bringing back the war on drugs and South American military adventurism seems a little over the top imo.

Hey, come on now, that's only Count 2 of the indictments at the first Nuremberg trial of major war criminals. Probably Count 1 as well, but certainly not Counts 3 and 4!

Yet.

Dems should start talking about how Trump has partnered up with the Sinaloa cartel and is now eliminating their competition.

Because that is the new argument that will suddenly swing them the day?
