Pretty surreal reading about the one subject about Sark that we hoped never came up in thread discussions at any point at his time at Texas. If that really became an issue again, it will absolutely come out at some point. Knowing from my own personal experiences, going back down that path leads to other destructive behavior that is impossible to keep quiet. I hope that is not what is going on here.

Why is everyone avoiding the idea that the time out could have been for rehab and the family, employer and friends knew as much? Everyone drawing the conclusion that one of the possibilities was a bender but not examining a rehab notion is odd. I've always assumed the break was due to some bad old habits resurfacing and the guy needing a restart.

Honestly I thought Casey played ok

You don't have to post every thought that springs to mind on this site for you. Holding back even a little would you avoid embarrassing posts like this. Broken hand or not, Thompson mostly played mediocre to poor. There's a reason he continued to fail downward with every new stop. He just wasn't very good.

Probably because there's no evidence for any of it.

Certainly makes me question im_smarter’s sobriety and whether or not his employer knows where he is.

Hey man, if he was 8-0 with an explosive offense, I could tell you for a FACT that his absence was due to a much needed rehab and that he came out steonger than ever.

This. Disappointed people look for scapegoats and rumors get out of hand. He did himself no favors by missing meetings, etc. but it could have been him handling shit instead of spinning out, who knows. Let our rivals speculate on the twisted depths of his depravity until we have real intel.

You dropped this hint days and pages ago. I immediately understood. I'm amazed how stupid this board is. But then I see the Ewers thread and now this thread as daily reminders.

This thread is just fucking outright embarrassing.

Makes one wonder if some of those spreading/rehashing the prurient cuck and baby-daddy rumors are fifth-columnist fans of other programs posting here seditiously. Wait--does that sound like something you'd find on texags?

No, many posters (BO&W being the worst) on here insist upon themselves and will keep this thread open for years. Ewers thread shows the absolute worst of what this board is. This thread will take it's place.

I, for one, mentioned rehab stint for 30 days first. You’re welcome Mrs Jumping.

Thanks for updating us on you've been up to lately, and congratulations. What does this post have to do with anything? Who was talking about "first" regarding this discussion? That's more incel "look at me" bandwidth drain from you. No one pays attention to your constant spewing of banal thoughts and your overall disdain for logic.

I have a boyfriend. Bless his heart. ❤️ he listens to me. Which must absolutely strain every brain cell he has. He might be a saint. Also @scramblynsaid he’s happily married. I ain’t some shameless hoe that chases married men. Thanks for the defense though. Much appreciated @scramblyn

Second point and this is a HYPOTHETICAL : IF sark’s mysterious 30 day absence was unscheduled and if during said unscheduled absence he did go on a bender and said alleged bender caused Sark to miss four weeks of winter practice and everything connected to Junior day in which recruits notated his absence it does fucking matter. Further IF he did go on such a bender and said alleged bender also impacted spring practice and his failure to fix the o-line in the offseason  it does fucking matter.

Most normal people could reasonably and logically comprehend that IF he went on  said bender  IT absolutely had a direct correlation to 6-2 and getting beat by Florida in the swamp.

Some of you would ignore all common sense  and swim past the sandbar on a vacation to the beach, get your leg bitten off by a shark only to blame your travel agent cuz she’s a chick. Logic. How does it work?

This isn’t “let’s pile on Sark because we are 6-2.”

And spare me the violins for criticizing a heavily paid man who has been gifted with every resource at his fingertips to have made this team a feared monster this year and so far we have lost in the shoe and the swamp and gone to two OTs with the bottom 1/3 of the conference. This isn’t Sark’s first rodeo. If he wants to disappear like a magician for 30 days and allegedly bender up he can fucking do it after the spring game.

Legit question:  how much of Herman's firing do y'all think was related to performance and how much was related to behavior?

He ended up being despised by everyone. The players, the administration, almost every booster he met, the media, the $9.95ers who held recruiting influence, the trainers/street agents, high school coaches, you name it. I think it just became a thing where no one wanted to deal with his shit anymore.

That kind of gets at what I was thinking.  Regardless of winning records and a 4-0 bowl game tally, if you're an asshole your margins are thinner than if you are a decent person.  And let's be honest, the bar for "decent person" among head coaches isn't all that high.

His wife was how many months pregnant?

My third is due before the end of the year. I’ve bailed out of work to do stuff for her or bring her somewhere or take her something tons of times.

It could have been complications during pregnancy where he legitimately had to be there for his family.

People are dumb to assume he is drinking himself to death in the offseason.

I know a couple who were having a baby around the same time and they saw Sark at the hospital/doctor a few times. I don't remember specifics but I want to say Sark's baby may have indeed had some complications (possibly premature?). My memory is fuzzy and I never got a lot of details so please don't take that as fact, anyone. But point being, yeah he had a lot going on.

Did the baby appear to be surprisingly fast?

Did the baby have exemplary Palmar Grasp Reflex?

I guess I'm the absolute only one who doesn't know, but what's the Michelle airplane story?

If I remember correctly, her and Tom were on a boosters plane and she almost opened one of the hatches

Either we are the only institution that has a “wives problem” or other schools keep that shit in-house pretty well (or they don’t have them).

- Herman’s wife

- Beard’s whatever the fuck she is and her antics

- Loreal

50/50.  Everyone hated him and he had mediocre performance.  If he was beloved with the same record, me might have stayed on another year or two.  OTOH, if he were 12-0 with a natty, he would still be here.  He would just be our asshole.

I've looked at their schedule.  They ain't losing two before the playoffs.  I would love to be wrong, but I won't be.

It's not like the plane story was ever public. We gossipped about it on the recruiting board, if memory serves. The biggest thing regarding Herman's wife that was ever a public story was her alignment with Zach Smith's battered wife and her aiding the woman during times of need. Also, she was smoking hot.

I think these things happen everywhere. Cleat chasers and coat chasers often become girlfriends, wives, mistresses, you name it. Hell, the shit that was out there about Barnes was as scandalous as any of this two decades ago. I assume if we were all USC or Georgia fans, we'd have stories like this about coaches and players there as well.

I can tell you that the shit coming out of Bama for 18+ years behind the scenes absolutely holds a candle to anything we can throw out there right now. Kiffin was banging cocktail waitresses two at a time! Players couldn't get a drink at the table.

I'm taking the SEC championship in to account in that assumption. Scar will beat somebody this year (ala Texas/Florida) and Texas/Mizzou are good enough to capitalize on mistakes.

One does not go from normal to rehab without a few steps in between. I hope the time away was at rehab and he is ok but if he was at rehab you can bet there was visibly destructive shit going on.

Sark doesn’t have some buddy relationship with Saban. He calls him the old man and he laughs about how fast Saban wanted out once NIL was firmly in place. I don’t think they like each other that much.

Saban and Freshwater are actual friends. I was listening to Theo Vonn and Freshwater and he Joey said Saban is a hard ass, but after the season he invited he and his (now ex-wife) and kids over for the holidays, and how he as a person is the kindest man, and the love he has for his grandchildren was something special. He said watching him play with them, building Legos, coloring, playing cars, etc was a side people would never believe until they saw it. He says he's a hard ass because he's a perfectionist, but after he's done chewing your ass on the field after tree game, he'll tell you why. He won't apologize, but he will you why he didn't like this or that play call, etc. He said he never throws any of the coaches under the bus and always accepts responsibility. He said he loves him and his kids see him as a grandfather. They still keep in touch.
