I’ve seen one in someone’s office displayed on a shelf but never just out and about.

Was that because they are a Trump supporter or some kind of ironic gag?

I forgot to add that Asians seem to adopt for sale whatever is branded and trendy (leading to a lot of trademark and copyright infringement), without really understanding in many cases the significance of what they are selling.  They just know they can buy low and sell high.

I must make two honest confessions to you, my Christian and Jewish brothers. First, I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season." Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.

I had hoped that the white moderate would understand that law and order exist for the purpose of establishing justice and that when they fail in this purpose they become the dangerously structured dams that block the flow of social progress. I had hoped that the white moderate would understand that the present tension in the South is a necessary phase of the transition from an obnoxious negative peace, in which the Negro passively accepted his unjust plight, to a substantive and positive peace, in which all men will respect the dignity and worth of human personality. Actually, we who engage in nonviolent direct action are not the creators of tension. We merely bring to the surface the hidden tension that is already alive. We bring it out in the open, where it can be seen and dealt with. Like a boil that can never be cured so long as it is covered up but must be opened with all its ugliness to the natural medicines of air and light, injustice must be exposed, with all the tension its exposure creates, to the light of human conscience and the air of national opinion before it can be cured.

It is a KINDNESS that minorities in this country do not beat MAGA hatters physically. It is a symbol of their unwavering patience and their strength in their ability to be endlessly demeaned from the highest levels of American power that MAGA hats are not automatic "beat me into unconsciousness" symbols.

So handing this piece of shit his hat back politely is not only fine, it's more than he deserves. When you advertise your desire for genocide you sacrifice whatever humanity your birth bestowed on you.

If you think that hat is like the hat of a rival football team you don't like, you're part of the problem and you're on the side of fascist terror.

Nothing will ever wake you up. Not mass murder, nothing. Fuck off.

Lmao

Not that this makes a difference but are you seeing them on mostly tourists?

I've seen them on parents of kids at some of the local colleges or on older people on occasion on the metro. There's not a flood of them or anything but they are in every souvenir shop because of the current president and because they sell. Dc is low to middle 90 percentile Democrat which is why it's not getting voting rights. So everybody who wears them is a visitor.

Oh...you think that the GOP Senate won’t act like domestic terrorists under the next president. You’re cute. They will abuse the legislative process like you e never imagined. They will refuse to pass any bill that funds the SDNY, for example. There are lots of ways that they can protect Trump and destroy the county in the process. Count on them to do that.

I'm sorry, but exactly how big a pussy are you?  Are you unwilling to actually fight for what you know is right?  If you are, do you think the rest of us will cower in fear like you will?

Fuck that.  If it comes to a fight, I'm fighting.  You can snivel in fear in the corner all you want.  You've already folded.  I'm serious -- you talk a big game yet you acquiesce at the slightest hint of a battle.  Well, we don't need you.  Let the men take over.

Did I say I wouldn’t fight? I must have missed where I said that.

But understand that if it comes down to “will you fight?”, then shit’s already lost. That’s my fucking point. If people have to take up arms to fix shit...come on.

LOL.  You fold daily.  You just did.  If you see the battle as "lost" before it starts, then you quit.  We'll take it from here.

I think it’s wrong to prejudge a person by the MAGA hat.  He’s just as likely to be mentally handicapped as he is to be a racist.

Sorry if I’m not going to play the crips and bloods bullshit.

A person will always have to earn my disrespect by their words and the way they treat others.

Well, you make the perfect Democrat.

???

I see that the GOP will shamelessly destroy the country within the process, and they can’t be stopped with legal means...and that means I’ve quit? I’m looking at the chessboard. It is what it is, I didn’t make it that way.

They. Control. The country. And they aren’t going to give that up.

Ended up in a pretty heated argument the other night with a Trump-supporting friend. Drinks were involved which didn't help the situation. She loves that Trump is "shaking things up," and thinks the end result will be lower taxes (for her industry--real estate--if not her personally). She openly admitted she cares not one bit about any of his actions-no matter how reprehensible or even treasonous-as long as her taxes go down & his presidency results in the emergence of a viable 3rd party (which she thinks will happen due to splintering of the DNC).

I have to respect her honesty. She'd be a great baby boomer (although a 40-something Gen Xer) with her attitude of "fuck you, I'm getting mine."

This will only occur when one party is weak enough to allow a third party to overtake one of the two parties.  The way our system is set up really doesn’t allow for three parties to survive over any length of time.

IMO the Tea Party movement was a third party that overtook the GOP with the election of Donald Trump.  The neocon Republican Party pre Obama now looks likes a fringe/dead movement.

The democrats have some stuff going on with the progressive movement but it’s a bit more diverse ideologically as far as differences in economic policy.

Come on, man
No pics. And by respecting her honesty at least she owned her selfishness. I disagreed with her (to the point she was getting teary eyed & insisted we stop the discussion) & think less of her in general, but at least she didn't blame her support for him on the typical BS.

If I see a person with a MAGA hat, I’m more likely to engage and find out why they’re wearing it.  I’m not going to silently hate someone because of their fucking hat.
You guys think everyone wearing a MAGA hat is well informed enough to know they’re wearing a symbol of hate?  These are probably the least informed people in the world.  They’re also Americans.

Agreed. My brother owns one. Doesn’t wear it often. Tried to sell me on Trump and even sent me a highlighted copy of Art of the Deal.
He’s a woefully uniformed bastard. His policy positions are based on limited personal experience (his health insurance went up so Obama bad and your typical GOP bogeymen( waste his taxes on entitlements for lazy)

He is successful and a nice guy generally. He lives in a bubble.

I don’t wish ill upon him, I just wish he wouldn’t vote.
And I’ll sadly experience schadenfreude when his FIL gets SS and Medicare cuts while voting for Trump again.

Yeah there is a lot Trump supporters that fit this mold. Both sides are corrupt equally. Clinton sex scandal = trump scandal. Trump has a long term plan for prosperity because he’s a business man. The squeeze will be worth the juice. Uniformed morons

Amidst his traitorous blizzard of lies, the deceit in this one is particularly substantive.  fuck that guy.

Serious question. When that fat fuck finally keels over with a McDonald’s double cheeseburger in his mouth, how are they gonna prevent all the pissing on his grave site that is frankly inevitable?
