True. That's no different than speculating the ups and downs depending on what's happening in the world. Someone on the inside actually sending tweets to affect the market is a different thing.

Why would he do this?  This is his base!  I think he's taking himself out.  They are gonna find him Warden Norton'd over the weekend.  And we'll all be better off.

While I certainly don't think he's above stock manipulation, I don't think he's smart enough to pull it off.  I think he's really just sitting in front of a TV with his phone, totally unhinged, reacting without forethought.  Maybe he coordinates some of his tweets for personal stock gain, but I don't think this is that.  He really is severely mentally ill.

If you are asking this question, you aren't paying attention. If he wins in 2020, there isn't going to be another election, at least not one any of us would recognize. Thg GOP would lose in 2024, strictly due to demographic changes anyway. This is their last gasp and they are going all in.

Outside of his supporters, he is the most easily manipulated motherfucker on the planet. It’s naive to think someone isn’t pulling the strings.

Right, but if I'm trying to win in 2020, I don't tell my rubes BEFORE they vote that I'm going to kill them.

But you see, since no one has any accounting of his income taxes, we have no idea if he's personally benefiting from the market or not.

3D Spock Chess going on here.

It's not really that complicated.

1) Short stock

2) Say crazy shit to tank markey

3) Cash in

4) Repeat steps 1-3

Even if it was, people need to stop underestimating him. He was smart enough to pull off first becoming the GOP nominee and then winning the Presidency. He was smart enough to turn the GOP base against the FBI, the CIA and Robert Mueller, who was faultless in the eyes of the bulk of the GOP until that time. He was smart enough to turn the GOP from generations of Russia hate into a bunch of Russian cock suckers.

He's plenty smart enough to run a pump and dump scheme, while using and manipulating gullible people. He's been doing it his entire life.

True.  It's definitely possible that an advisor is shorting stocks and telling him, "you aren't gonna let Xi and Powell get away with that, are you, sir?  I still think Trump's too stupid to plan it out, though.

The President of the United States is having a very public manic episode that is tanking the economy and the only thing we can do is stare in disbelief.

Ever been in a store or restaurant and some kid is running around unsupervised throwing a tantrum and tearing shit up while the parent ignores the situation? The Republican Party is that parent.

The GOP has the ability to put this shit to a stop yet they pretend nothing is happening while the orange toddler is taking a piss in the corner.

He didn't. He told GOP Congressmen. Barrasso from Wyoming, Thune from South Dakota and Purdue from Georgia. They are the stupid ones telling others, but in those states it is THEIR base demanding they cut those things from all the socialists and welfare queens abusing it. Surely they don't mean they would cut it for their own hard working constituents. The leopards eating faces party would never eat THEIR faces.

It's like the GOP knows the Dems can be really incompetent, so they are trying to give them a boost next year.

As a former Republican, I don't know what's worse, the corruption or the incompetence.

Yeah, maybe.   I still think he never intended on winning and that his repugnant personality is just, by a quirk of fate, perfect for the deplorable people that comprised the GOP by the time he came along.   I think his whole presidency is a real life The Producers, only his audience doesn't think the Hitler thing is a satire, they actually love it for real.

It’s most likely friends of Putin who are pulling all the strings and making fat bank off this scheme.

I don't think he intended to win either. He wanted to lose and parlay that into a massive grifter scheme with a Trump TV network that would outflank Fox to the right. That's what makes it especially stupid that Fox gave him such a huge platform. In fact, the only thing that really makes sense there is that it was Roger Ailes' idea. Ailes feared he was losing control of the network to Lachlan and James Murdoch, so he likely decided to fuck them by outflanking Fox with even more bombastic personalities, just like he did to NBC when he was fired for sexual harassment.

I've never understood why anyone would think his income tax returns would represent the truth in any way, shape or form.

And if it were conclusively proven that Trump was manipulating the stock market for his own personal gain, 100% of Republicans would continue to support him. They would crow about how it “shows how smart he is” and “Democrats do it anyway.”  There can be no debate that all Republicans are perfectly fine with treason, unprecedented incompetence and corruption, and the incitement of race- based violence by their leader, - so why would this be any different?  As long as they perceive that liberals are upset, then that’s a win for them.  If they have to completely destroy the country in order to teach the Democrats and liberals a lesson for electing a black person as President, then that’s a great trade off for Republicans, and a complete win in their eyes. That’s the depth of their analysis.

It's quite clear at this point that if you vote for a Republican, any Republican, in 2020, you're an idiot.

Pretty much.  I'm still in the camp he wouldn't want them out because they are going to show he's not nearly as wealthy as he says he is.

I'm pretty certain his lifestyle is bankrolled by the Trump Organization, and he's received zero compensation for his "duties" over the years.

Is he taking his bimbette daughter along to fill in for him during some meetings with other world leaders?

Dude.

He would pimp her out in exchange for some kind of political win.  Because he sure as hell isn't getting any wins the past few weeks, and odds are extremely high he's gonna leave this meeting without any wins in his pocket.

I'm just wondering because of the embarrassment she caused the last time he took her on the road to play government.
