Things seem to be going quite well for Joe Biden

Will Predictit have a line on whose pants fall down first when Trump and Biden get into an old man fight during the first debate? Seriously, I can see Joe just getting all amped up backstage watching John Wayne clips, come charging out on the debate stage like it's the national championship game with his Biden 1000 yard stare and just instantly going Situation-In-The-Rec-Room with Trump.

Trump has been preparing for this day with the fake spray tan. He's the proverbial greased pig. Joe will never get him down.

Biden better start fundraising for his defense team. Trump / Barr / Rudy / DoJ are about to come after him like this country has never seen before. Is it legal, probably not but the Trump Supreme Court isn't going to go against their dear leader.

I don't think anything substantial will come from it but it can sure as hell drain his bank account

You mean like a two year long, $30 million investigation, initiated by a political rival and lacking in probable cause from the very beginning? Yeah, we're never seen anything like that before.

You mean the probable cause of believing our lying eyes?  And an investigation that not only paid for itself, but profited?

He just said Obama won against an incumbent.  What did I miss?

Maybe he meant Obama’s win in his Senate race?

This whole situation is just sad.

I don’t think Joe really even wanted to run but he got pressured by the old stale Democrat back room dudes and their old stale beliefs about electability. He felt a duty to his country and party and threw his hat in the ring but his heart wasn’t in it.

And in doing so, he was kind of doomed from the jump. To be the kind of person to run for President, you have to have an almost unnatural belief in yourself and you have to want it with every cell in your body. And that’s just not who Joe is in 2020.

He’s also tarnished his legacy. After being VP, he was lovable kooky Ole Uncle Joe. Most Democrats - even far left ones - had warm feelings about him.

Now he’s had all kinds of garbage thrown on his reputation, his surviving son has been dragged into the gutter, everyone thinks he’s a dottering old fool, and he finishes his long run of serving his country by losing what was supposed to be an easy victory.

I didn’t and don’t want him to be the nominee. I would have voted for him if was but I wouldn’t have been excited about it. But I never hated the guy and I cannot help but feel pity for him and a little pissed off at the establishment of the old guard of the party and the media pundits who were so adamant about the conventional wisdom that he was the only one who could defeat Trump.

It was ultimately his decision to run but I think he made the decision based on good faith, duty, loyalty to his party, and love of his country. Not a decision made on ego or naked ambition or a lust for power.

So, yeah, I’m glad he looks like he won’t be the nominee but I’m sad for him on a personal level.

So, anyone questioning all the polls from the past year with him leading?

Not that I put much faith in polling, but I think it's pretty clear that those who are not extremely online/politically tapped in were just going off name recognition and "electability". Those that saw Biden in person (especially vis-a-vis the other candidates) were not inspired and voted that way. Now the wheels are falling off the wagon.

We cannot return to the past ?  So he puts his support behind a guy whose run for president 3x now, and hasn't had a new idea in his noggin since forever.

Maybe "Bidenmentum Not Going Away"?

The neoliberal economic policy in action - cut out the social welfare system (SS and Medicare), while turning on the money spigot for the top .01%. Then they have the audacity to back the made up "debt clock" - which is complete and utter BS - worse than trickle down (which was also a neoliberal policy).

As an added bonus, the neoliberals shut down manufacturing when even the non-union states didn't bend the knee low enough - the neoliberals created environmental and employment hellscapes in countries without regulations (to make the .01% more riches).  Ironic - they call an FDR Democrat a socialist while the ship jobs and money to actual communists.

What a world we live in. These establishment neoliberals gutted this nation by taking over both parties. They ended FDR prosperity for billionaires to have more.

I guess they didn't hear that neoliberal economic policy is dead or dying all over the world. The Chicago boyz didn't design any guardrails or exit ramps. oopsie.
