I finally got a response from my friend who ghosted me during the last 10 plus days. He said to look at the staff hires as a sign for the portal-apocalypse coming.  He fully expects Sark to target a bunch of players in free agency.

Well duh

And hire some fucking bagmen. Fuck this shit. If the NCAA isn't going to do anything, then let's fucking drop our balls on the table and play the fucking game. Fuck the SEC.

You don't hire Steve Sarkisian to have a smiley happy squeaky-clean 8 wins.

For the love of god hire Coach Boom. It has to happen. Straight up, ovaries on the table. Texas wins the Big 12 next year and Bijan goes to New York for the Heisman ceremony plus a top 5 recruiting class in 2022 if Boom is hired and Sark calls plays

Especially for the names being mentioned. He’s likely bringing 2-3 Alabama coaches and at least one other coach fully engaged in the game. This is a clear sign the fucking gloves are off. We just hired a former alcoholic and his bagmen to Texas. It’s a new day.

The BMDs are finally fucking tired of losing and irrelevance.

Wouldn't let me rep multiple times, here's your written rep.

I like this article.

The success of this Sark hire comes down to his D coordinator above all else.

Make Muschamp the highest paid assistant coach again.  Even if he's just a rental for a couple years.

Don't think muschcamp will be a rental.  Already had 2 HC jobs.  Has millions.  Might be happy to do what he does best and let someone else have all the worries.  Just a thought.

Think the best comp we have for this Sark hire is Cristobal. Failed for different reasons but both saw first hand how the game was played under Saban and know how to get away with it. Sark has the added benefit of having top level QBs at his disposal year after year in recruiting.

The fact that Saban is letting Sark stay on through the NC game gives me hope. Fan fiction has me thinking Saban is retiring in a few years and DGAF so is learning Sark real gud on how to build a dynasty, including how to fucking cheat.

Assuming Gerry is right... why would Sark force Stoops on Ash but not on Muschamp.  There's a disconnect somewhere.

I think what Gerry was saying is Stoops would get a Co-DC title but be LBs coach. Meaning Hutzler is gone. Muschamp however would likely keep Hutzler meaning no need for a LB coach.

To add to the transfer portal talk. Someone on IT mentioned that Bryce Young would likely follow Sark. Not buying it but would be interesting to watch.

Why would Bryce Young leave Alabama, where they play for titles every other year to come to Texas, especially when he is 1 week away from being their starter.

Just don't hire your best friends like the last two idiots, Sark...

Usually that's 100%.  Although, the expression "Birds of a feather flock together" comes to mind.  If his best friends are Alabama coaches we could do worse.

If it isn’t WM there are very few upgrades over Ash (you could argue WM isn’t but he seems to be the target). At that point you’d think Ash gets an offer to stay.

Yeah, Urban has kept existing DC's when taking over a new Head Coaching job...

Seems like a pretty strong indicator that Bama players believe in Sark's ability as a playcaller and QB coach

It’s a fair point. Upgrade if you can but is a guy like Bo Davis better?

He knows how to keep his mouth shut and take one for the team.

He's probably going somewhere, so why not follow Sarkisian? QBs these days don't like to sit and there's no way even Saban benches Jones after this season.

Look man, no one would bring it up if his head coaching career was stellar. It was somewhere between mediocre and average. And if we're bringing it up, do you think opposing recruiters might?

Dude has 2 of the 4 Heisman finalists *this year*.  He is known for coaching up QBs (one of which is a finalist).  He has NFL experience, experience at a couple of major schools, SEC and west coast ties, and a possibility of a natty this year.  If he has a good answer for beating addiction, he should be a huge upgrade on recruiting.

Will knows not of what he speaks. Get Giles the fuck off the 40

Yeah because it's so fufking hard to put together an all-conference, borderline all-american DL together at Texas. Even when we're shitty we have a good DL more years than not.

After watching Notre Dame look like a peewee team against Bama, I'm fully convince the schools who don't cheat are never going to win again. Notre Dame, even Texas, is not going to be able to regularly compete against $EC schools who perfected cheating from paying players, to pretend school, to steroids galore. If Texas is serious about competing it's going to have to play the game. Here's to hoping that the Sark hire and the assist coaches names are an indication that Texas is finally serious about playing the game on equal footing.
