I feel like the people that checked out post tech are really missing out on something special this season. 49-0 will likely never happen again. It was one of the greatest college football experiences of my lifetime. It was surreal. I'll never forget it.21 points

It's been mentioned many times around here, but one of their biggest problems, is their cultural insistence on hero worship, which is a manifestation of their cultural insistence on institutional worship. They cant help but build up every new QB, or every new coach, or their school's overall program, as being the very best. So when reality disproves them, the resulting cognitive dissonance forces them to make ever-wilder rationalizations and increasingly stupid assertions. They're culturally incapable of making rational observations that would result in realistic conclusions. In many ways they are the complete opposite of Texas fans. On our message boards, the "Fire Coach ______" threads begin even before we hire the guy. Which is perhaps not the healthiest approach either, but I'd rather be free-thinking and pessimistic, than a blind moron like the ags.20 points

I want to see an aggy 6-6 finish and not be bowl eligible because of two games against lower division teams. I’m petty like that.18 points

Billy Liucci is all of the following things and we know this: blowhard, room temperature IQ, self-important, a liar, a schemer, a jocksniffing dickrider, a 40 something acting like he's still in college, and a shill. All of those things make him entertaining to mock, so I appreciate the posts with images of his dipshitted takes. That said, I think the one feature that fascinates me about him is actually this one - humorless. This goober takes himself so seriously that everything is a big deal to him. He cannot laugh at himself or little things associated to the program or poster dipshittery. It's tedious and it wouldn't be tolerated by even the dumbest of UT boards without significant exits ruining said board. But it's actually just par for the course with aggies when I think about it. They're all like that if they're redasses. Not a funny bone in their body. Even when they make fun of others together, like UT when the program has issues, for instance, it's tinged very clearly with an undercurrent of raw, insecure anger.14 points

I love "They're both elite." Getting VY and Reggie McNeal vibes, which most aggies will still insist they were similar level talents.14 points

Elon is not an engineer. He's just an asshole. His undergrad degrees are in Physics and Economics. His "big ideas" are someone else's ideas he bought, because he was rich from South African apartheid fueled emerald mines.13 points

If you give a man a fish, and then gut funding for all of the “teach a man to fish” services and then work as a group to ensure that all the fish containing bodies of water are poisoned and boiled, you haven’t helped with the fish.12 points

This is what Ewers is looking at when he starts his windup on the Sanders TD up the seam. He has already set his feet and the throwing motion has begun. The decision to throw this pass was made a little earlier when he set his feet a fraction of a second before this. Many QB's will wait until Sanders is at least even with the defender before uncorking, but that would allow the safety to help over the top. Sanders appears to be on the 22 yard line at this point in time.12 points

I've told this story somewhere on here before...maybe earlier in this thread. My company launched a streaming analytics platform a couple years ago. One of my customers was a launch partner for our solution, and some of their early solution use cases were predictive maintenance analytics and computer vision analytics. My main contact even filmed a launch video and webinar with our program managers. Anyway, about 4 days after we launched, I get a call from the program manager that "Some Army dude" watched our webinar and is interested in what my partner does, and requested an in-person deep dive. Keep in mind, this is during COVID lockdown in 2020, and there's no travel getting approved. I asked the PM where the guy is located and he tells me Ft Bragg.....Well Shit...So I get our Army team involved, they pull some travel budget out of their ass, and we bring my partner out to Ft Bragg to meet General Christopher Donahue, CG of the 82nd. You might know him as the last guy out of Afghanistan. The very first thing he said was "I need help finding drones". He was talking about this exact thing...relatively unsophisticated attacks with small munitions, or even advanced spotting. He wasn't worried about larger drones, like the TB2s or the Iranian drones, but the DJI stuff kept him up at night.11 points

Weird how someone repeatedly saying that homosexuality is a sinful choice in 2022 because his interpretation of the Bible told him so--knowing full well that spreading this mythos leads directly to suicide and depression...all while professing how generous and charitable Christains are--didn't lead to more civil discussion. Fancy that. Most of us have been mere observers of this thread throughout its history, letting people discuss their faith and theology, whether we agree or not. Everyone is entitled to their own belief system...to a point. "You can't get mad at me for being a bigot; I'm just doing what I think God wants" thankfully no longer flies in our society.10 points

This is why engineers shouldn't be allowed to run companies, or or manage anything, or even speak to the general public. Of course an engineer will end up siding with authoritarians, it's the clean, efficient, and simplistic to the point of stupid way of running things. Democracy is messy and unpredictable, requires imagination, compassion, and compromise.10 points
