What's funny is how wrong you are on so many levels. Beck is a shitty play caller. Herman is a great play caller (although I still say his dedication to 11 personnel may be trouble.) Hand, while being a great addition for many reasons, is not a play caller.

Also, year 1 was mostly Beck, a freshman Sam, a lol worthy oline and a stubbornness to stick to scheme employing Garrett as the starting tight end until we geniusly put in an undersized freshman in his place.

You can now consider yourself educated on this matter.

Let me try to use smaller words.  When our OL improved, our play calling improved.

Watson was just a generally terrible OC. Beck is pretty good at other aspects of being an OC, but he's a god awful playcaller.

Watson would put together a BEAUTIFUL opening script of plays to begin games, however after that script was done, it was a shit show.

Herman/Beck did that in 2017, too.  I have specific recollection of the first drive or two scripted against TTU.  Felt like we were going to score 60 points that game.

Any news on how Wilson liked his visit?

Liked it. Has an OV scheduled. It's between us and Oregon.

Honestly it feels like we're getting Trey Sanders-ed again (not in the "this has been stitched up since day one" way, but in that we're the token "good guy" in the mix before they take the money and run).

It wasn't the size of the words you initially used, but how you awkwardly assembled those regular-size words, and didn't clearly articulate the point you tried, but failed, to make.

Marginally. Beck called plays the first couple games and it was still bad. Around the time it was reported that Herman was calling plays, there was a notable increase in the coherency of our offense. Obviously better OL play makes play calls look better, but there's a noticeable gap between the quality of play calls by Beck compared to Herman.

For those who don’t know any better, VaHorn is a long time price of shit poster with behaviors that surpass any of the biggest coaching apologists that any of you can recall. He was a staunch defender of Greg Davis and Mack Brown, well into their decline. He loved Charlie Strong and Shawn Watson. He mocked posters on 247 for not liking the Watson hire and then did his little downvoting game on anyone who ever uttered a negative word about the guy during his time at Texas. He’s been a Tim Beck OC defender from day one. He’s a LotusHorn, EJ Holland and Chip Brown sycophant. He brings nothing to the table but snark and downvotes and should be put on ignore and negvoted into banishment. Interacting with this goober is an exercise in futility. He has nothing to bring to the table beyond “but your not a corchez!!” rhetoric.

Fuck that noise. It gave us a chance to talk about the Oxford Comma.

So if Texas can close on Broughton, Collins, Robinson, Ransom, Thompson, Lindberg, Crawford, Rogers, and Washington. That would put them at 264.75 with only 15 commits, good for 2nd right now.

And leaves room for 2-3 WRs, 2-3 LBs, maybe another RB, Karic, Ringo, and another DL.

Too many 50-50 or 60-40 calls in your group to count on but it's possible. It'll be interesting to see who the staff prioritizes coming out of camps the next few weeks.

Help your uncle Jack off the horse

Help your uncle jack-off the horse.

Should jack off have a hyphen?

It should not.

Capital letters, like commas, are important.

Help your Uncle Jack off the horse.

Help your uncle jack off the horse.

Edited to add: proper grammatical construction of the first sentence would be: Help off the horse your Uncle Jack.

I don’t think we’ll get to 25, but I guess you did leave some wiggle room to stop at 22.

I also don’t think I want a Greg Davis avatar for a year, so that opinion is for entertainment purposes only.  no wagering, please.

Big move up by Broughton as well. Is it just the 100 they updated, or their whole database?   No sign of Jackson in the top 100.

Just the top 100

Updated Rivals rankings look interesting: https://n.rivals.com/prospect_rankings/rivals100/

Bijan jumped several spots. So did Broughton + Ringo. Wilson, Evans, and McClellan fell.

I figured Bijan would get a big bump after he beat Milton out for MVP at that Rivals LA camp.

Just 100 for now, but they'll update the Rivals 300 in the next couple weeks, I think.

I actually view it as a good thing. Beck sucking so bad at play calling forced Herman to take over that responsibility and there aren’t many people out there who are better than Herman at calling a game.

That plus it limits his value in the open market. He could be the next Greg Davis style lifetime coordinator if they stay with this setup, which isn't a bad thing.

Johnston is probably about to be top 10 composite in-state.
