The Cowboys are worth $6.5 billion and you think Walt Disney World maxes out at $9.999 billion?

I was joking before about fighting about this. I have no idea and don't really care.

But comparing the Cowboys as a franchise and the infrastructure and land of Disney World doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Of course you couldn't buy the entity and rights of DisneyWorld for less than 12 figures.

Texas is redder than Florida.  And Austin can’t build roads.

And that land is privately owned in smallish tracts. Can you imagine what it would cost to buy when you know Disney is the buyer?  They had to hide shit 55 years ago when land was cheap and it was a Florida swamp.

Yeah. The post wasn’t made in earnest.

Wasn’t there some shit a couple decades ago that people were claiming Disney was buying up parcels somewhere in dfw to make a park in the middle of the country?

texas does love big business though. It would bend over and spread’em up to and including an eminent domain fight if Disney showed interest.

Yes. Victoria is exactly where I’d like to blow 10k on princess costumes and rides.   Were  the cotton fields of Tivoli too pricy for them?

Probably funny to only one other person but here goes

Calculus: We stand firmly against any field of mathematics that requires integration.

Prime Numbers: The only prime number the State of Florida recognizes is 17—the age at which a woman is in her prime.

Do you think it should be legal for teachers to do what the teachers in these videos do?

Thomas W. Lucas Jr., 35, was convicted by a jury in February of seven federal counts of wire fraud and one count of lying to the FBI.

So 90s social conservatism is officially back baby. Must be a cakewalk for Republicans; you don't actually have to do anything, allocate resources, or solve problems, just condemn CRT & create these ridiculous bills & your base is fully satiated.

These are obviously videos staged by right wing agitators and no amount of evidence to the contrary can change my mind, as those would just be wrong opinions and fake news.

What laws ares created to stop something everyone is doing?  I think he answered your question from yesterday with multiple examples:

Was this even a thing that was actually happening? Was this a real problem that deserved the legislative attention and cost?

I haven't seen anything to support this narrative aside from the narrative.

1) the examples that sack posted were of teachers stating their opinion and of pretty typical kids books.

2) if it's your position that a fucking kids book is going to ruin your poor helpless crotch goblin, maybe you're a shitty parent and shouldn't rely on your kids school to raise your kid.

3) do you agree with sack that gay/trans people are "sick freaks" that should be kept away from children?

4) if you care about protecting children from abuse, and not just feeding them to youth ministers for actual grooming, you'd want them to understand and have words for what they may have to face when an adult says something is OK when it isn't.

1) Their opinion on what they should teach children in the classroom.

2) More than a book, clearly in those videos.  And I agree that I should not - and do not - rely on my kids school to raise my kid.  I recently had the gender conversation with my 11 year old.  He was much more prepared to have it at 11 than he would have been at 6.

3) LGBTQ+?  Absolutely not.  People who are eager to talk about my K-3rd grader about these subjects?  Yeah, I think that's weird.  Some of those people above seemed excited about the prospects of discussing this with kids.

4)  Absolutely, and unfortunately we have taught our kids what is not OK to for an adult to do around them.  But sure as fuck not the job of my kids kindergarten teacher.  That would be weird.

Shooting up a school is illegal and should be.  You’re almost there.   Put it together.

Aren’t you the one that says that schools are safer than they’ve been in 40 years in terms of shootings? DeSantis is only doing this to rile up the rubes and get out their votes. You think he’s the greatest governor ever because of bullshit like this that puts already at risk youth at further risk of violence and suicide. You also think he is great because he is willing to draw districts that give Republicans a 20 to 8 House seat advantage in a state that is 51% Republican. You don’t care about any of this because it keeps Republicans in power which will keep your taxes low

I think he's done a fantastic job as governor of Florida and so do his constituents.

I mean can you imagine the consequences if that guy had won? Florida locking down more for Covid. Probably other states open less. Less resulting migration across the country because the policies would be more homogenous.

Under her first handle @shaya69830552, she minimized covid, cast doubt on the election results and promoted a dubious story about a child sex trafficking ring. On Nov. 23, 2020, Raichik changed handles, this time going by @shaya_ray and identifying herself publicly as a real estate investor in Brooklyn. She began doubling down on election fraud conspiracies using QAnon-related language. Early that December, she joked about launching a clothing line titled “voter fraud is real.”

Quote

In January 2021, Raichik started talking about traveling to D.C. to support Trump on Jan. 6 at the Stop the Steal rally. When violence broke out at the Capitol that day, she tweeted a play-by-play account claiming to be on the ground. “They were rubber bullets from law enforcement. 1 hit right next to me,” she said. She posted videos from the crowd and spoke of tear gas being deployed nearby. After saying she left the riot, she used Twitter to downplay the event, claiming that it was peaceful compared to a “BLM protest.”

Frankly the "Lib" in "LIb Tik Tok" should have clued you in. Soon you will quote from the website of somebody calling themselves The Democrat Party and saying it's straight from the Democrats.

As for who is being protected from who:

Quote

“Libs of TikTok is basically acting as a wire service for the broader right-wing media ecosystem,” said Ari Drennen, LGBTQ program director for Media Matters, the progressive media watchdog group. “It’s been shaping public policy in a real way, and affecting teachers’ ability to feel safe in their classrooms.”

As I wrote in another thread, your "political party" is a lynch mob. Kyle out there killing pieces of shit, harmless LGBTQs being portrayed as predators, and Dems as pedophiles. Can't wait until Kyle goes into an elementary school seeking to help the young as he opens up on an effeminate instructor beloved by their students.

I realize that for persons of your ilk, the question is as sadly rhetorical now as it was then.

And yet @immamac and @hayden_horn (and definitely not black lab lol) won't action the posting and repetition of disinformation sources like the one that sack is using as an authoritative source to derail threads and grievance-jerk. As long as there's enough layers of plausible deniability, any fucking grifter can be authoritative - but don't forget, any competent professional or expert is just a deeply biased and unreliable source!

How is Libs of TiKTok disinformation?

Posted up thread, journalism by WaPo on the account owner

https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2022/04/19/libs-of-tiktok-right-wing-media/

Quote

On March 8, a Twitter account called Libs of TikTok posted a video of a woman teaching sex education to children in Kentucky, calling the woman in the video a “predator.” The next evening, the same clip was featured on Laura Ingraham’s Fox News program, prompting the host to ask, “When did our public schools, any schools, become what are essentially grooming centers for gender identity radicals?”

Libs of TikTok reposts a steady stream of TikTok videos and social media posts, primarily from LGBTQ+ people, often including incendiary framing designed to generate outrage. Videos shared from the account quickly find their way to the most influential names in right-wing media. The account has emerged as a powerful force on the Internet, shaping right-wing media, impacting anti-LGBTQ+ legislation and influencing millions by posting viral videos aimed at inciting outrage among the right.

The anonymous account’s impact is deep and far-reaching. Its content is amplified by high-profile media figures, politicians and right-wing influencers. Its tweets reach millions, with influence spreading far beyond its more than 648,000 Twitter followers. Libs of TikTok has become an agenda-setter in right-wing online discourse, and the content it surfaces shows a direct correlation with the recent push in legislation and rhetoric directly targeting the LGBTQ+ community.

Specific excerpt as to why I would argue the account is disinformation, based on the past behavior and information presented as fact by the account:

Chaya Raichik had been working as a real estate salesperson in Brooklyn when, in early November 2020, she created the account that would eventually become Libs of TikTok.

How happy for you to have a new anecdote to apply universally to a group you like to persecute. (Oh no, only the bad ones! Not like Tonto who was a good Indian!)

I will now specuate without the backing of tik tok curated to suit my constant state of outrage; I bet the most common instructions for young children about the variety of sexual orientations has to do with tolerance.

So, let's see, which side of this battle would I choose to be on, virulent intolerance or tolerance? My choice is as easy as Sack's and Immaculate Vibes of Rush's/Trump's right always is. Tolerance is the least we should expect and give as fellow citizens. It keeps demagogues and would-be tyrants from dividing us.

You irony-deaf fuckwads thinking you're actually saving the republic.

Just as a cancer liberates the soul of a body.

So the right wing thinks that K-3 is just too young to be indoctrinated into the idea that gay people exist and being exposed to those ideas "grooms" kids to be gay. Why no focus on indoctrination into something that is actually, ya know, a fucking decision instead of the way you were born?  Shouldn't there be a "don't say God" bill?  After all, why should kids moldable minds be exposed to these concepts?  No more Christmas parties or Easter events, no books allowed that say God or Jesus or feature pastors or priests (speaking of grooming). Why is it OK to plant seeds in a kindergartener's head about religion, which is a choice, and not sexuality, which is not?

Currently in Florida, a kindergarten teacher can legally describe explicitly the murders of the Holocaust and state that the actions were justified because Jews are less than human, but not "Sally has two moms because sometimes girls like other girls." Why exactly are there all these bills to stop discussion of CRT and gender, but none aimed at stopping endorsements of white supremacy, Nazism, or advocacy of the Big Lie that the election was stolen?
