It;s hilarious to me that those pea-brains on the Brazos think the only reason one would choose Texas over them is NIL $.

No reference to overall success, recent success, culture, coaching staff, draft success, trajectory of program, national pull/significance, returning players, national brand etc. not even leaning into the "playing school" aspects.

Money=only way

Yeah, but they've got a dead dog cemetery, dorky milk men, toy soldiers, Soviet-style architecture, and a variety of pitiful sadomasochistic rituals to go with the bestest fans ever.

It takes a lot of money to pull 18-year-old kids away from that.

The two things I find most amusing about these comments from the boards:

1) The ministry's full-throated defense of the Elk's regime and recruiting prowess.

2) The (apparently) growing view that Jimbo was fired too early, that he could have been made CEO and all would be well.

Both are hilarious.

Since they are paying him all of his contract, could they force him to come back and work for it?  I’d very much like to see that play out.

I’m guessing got his undergrad at aggy and a graduate degree at Texas.

It strikes me that there is at least an outside chance that he's actually an Aggie,  and he's contributing in someway back to the University.  I think those that financially support the program might be more critical and likely to call bullshit.  Texags might be better served by claiming they are under-gunned and need the red asses to get their checkbooks out.   Course it's Aggie,  so that would make too much sense,  and while it might help the program,  it might cause less support for TA,   so it's more likely that Margot Robbie tracks me down cause she's lonely than the TA's calls out the fanbase or admin.

“Leading the list of 13 independent contractors paid six figures or more was Maroon & White LPthe parent company of the online fan forum TexAgs.comwhich received $1.1 million for "external marketing services.”

After reading this last week, I’m not sure why TexAgs subscribers expect any objectivity from the copy writers.  TexAgs is a marketing branch of the athletic dept, not an objective news outlet or discussion forum.  There isn’t another light to look at it in.

We all know Texags is a paid mouth piece for the aggy Athletic Department, to the tune of $1+ million.

Nothing shows the contrast between the culture of Texas and A&M like the hit pieces we get from FCB & K-Bowels v. the endless sunshine pumping from Texags, the open Freedom of the Press v. the Ministry of Mis-information that would make Russia and Iraq blush.

So the A&M Athletic Department pays $$$ to Texags, which then solicits $$$ on "behalf" of NIL, so Texags can skim their % of the  NIL $$$ contributions, and return it back to the Athletic Department?

That last clown, like so many of them, is just flat out lying. "Barr fights" for wearing aggie shit. Right. Hell, I have been in multiple bar fights and never once was it because of a team shirt or hat. Now, guys talking shit when they should have known better? Sure. I can see that rube getting his ass beat a few times for not shutting up and whining out loud with all of his aggie tropes about tu and such.

Watching these guys try to grasp where things sit is very gratifying. Some of them get it to some degree, and they have to think they're taking crazy pills due to other responses.

Much like the talking heads in the media, many of their fans really believe that Texas and ATM are *this* close in football. It almost takes effort to possess that point of view right now. Texas has the best roster in CFB and ATM has a bunch of guys named Bob. There are maybe 15 guys on their entire roster that could make the Texas 85, and that might be stretching it. And, beautifully, the talent in this rivalry matters. It's not like OU historically, at all. Texas will be ready for ATM this fall, whether ATM is 9-2 or 2-9 heading into that game.

My favorite encapsulation of their mental and nonsensical gymnastics is "our continued underperformance indicates we are capable of being as good as them any year."

Yep, any century now ags. Any century now it'll happen.

I'm not crazy. Really. I'm not.

who would have guessed the aggie fans would be part of the "do your own research" crowd.

If they were underperforming, he'd have a point. They're losing. Don't get me wrong, nobody has better losses than A&M, but they are still losses.

So, continual losing indicates they are capable of being as good as Texas any year.

They use underperforming instead of losing so much that it's like the mandatory t.u..

I’ve said this before but our 12 yrs of sucking would be the best 12 yrs for probably 85 percent of college football teams including theirs. They can’t see it because they’re idiots. It was a bad 12 yrs compared to our history not theirs.

Love when they go on about how they fit in better in the SEC than sippy as if that’s a badge of honor. The A&M fanbase and athletic department are full of stupid, servile people with simultaneous superiority/victim complexes. So, yes, they are a better fit in the SEC.

Only bar fight I’ve been involved in - my band played at Emo’s and I scuffled with the bouncer when we were getting our equipment out. Guy was a prick.

It’s one of the very few stories I can tell that makes it sound like I was once kinda cool.
