population decline

Also the average is 33 because some people can apparently run through 33 in a holiday weekend

Did this include an age group? 33 would mean the average single person is getting laid a couple of times a month. That doesn't sound right unless they are including the 60+ crowd to drag down the average.

Certainly possible but I am more optimistic.  We will mitigate the downside thru technology and by lifting up the youth in the 3rd world.

Well if you would have gotten your dick out of the other fella and plowed her for a moment---you selfish bastard, I think we could count that as one.

sarcasm aside, do those stats/studies include gay/lesbian sex??.  I mean, I'm glad those people are in relationships and getting laid but it obviously won't increase the population.

I do think there's something to the idea of single men becoming radicalized.

In my town, every house (there's 4) that's flying a certain flag (I don't want to go CR here, but I think we all know what flag I'm referring to) is populated by a single man.  One is a guy I'd consider a friend, who got dumped a week before his wedding last November.  Went from being a normal guy to fully in on political rage within 3 months of that event.

To be fair to that guy's stupidity, getting dumped the week before your wedding is a lot worse than just being some perpetual single loser.  I've been dumped, but it was as a kid with no real stakes.  But if I was older, and had put in time and love and then got effectively stranded at the altar, I'd probably go either full on clinical depression or full on political rage.  This chick sounds like the kind of cunt who kept the engagement ring as well because "It's the cost of keeping my hot ass off the market for so long."

Good news is that as a nation, we've had single guys for centuries and made it just fine.  But what this future model bodes is that the women turning them down for their looks/personality will also be turning them down for lack of education/financial opportunities.  That's salt in the wound.  That's not a good mixture.  When all this rage aimed at immigrants and people who look different or people who worship differently, gets turned inward on 'uppity, educated dames'.........might not a good thing for America.  I don't think it's anywhere near as bleak as these articles/studies portend.  But if you're not already seeing little, tiny, one-off signs of it---you're intentionally blind.

I felt (and still feel) awful for him.  He's a genuinely good dude who's gotten mixed up into this dipshittery because of legitimate anger.  She dumped him for her ex.  She had been the ex's babysitter and broke up his first marriage as a 17 year old.  She's now pregnant with ex's kid and engaged to be step mom to the kids she baby sat and then precipitated their parents' divorce.  It's peak small town trashiness.

But less to that case specifically, and more to the greater point:  it's ridiculously easy for guys in this climate to funnel their anger at women into political extremism.  And that is probably only going to get worse.

I mean, that's basically the gist of it.  Oh yeah, they built a house together while engaged and lived in it for maybe 3 months before this all went down.  Amazingly, they were able to sell it in days for more than it cost to build, so that part had a happy ending.

It started as a spite bet, basically.  My buddy was screwing this other chick, but not really dating.  They get in a fight and my buddy told her "I'm going to fuck your best friend".  And he did.  Said best friend is the home-wrecking baby sitter who ditched him (almost) at the altar.

Chick is attractive, but not nearly hot enough for the level of crazy present.  Oddly enough, before I knew her back story and all this shit went down, she seemed like a much better person than his ex (who's a miserable bitch, but an absolute smoke show).  This guy truly has a nose for crazy bitches.  It runs in his family.  His brothers are all currently hooked up with absolutely insane and/or awful women.  One brother's wife doesn't work, grew up rich, and demands an insane lifestyle that he's drowning in debt to maintain and she contributes nothing to.  She was hot when they met (3-4 years ago) and has gained a solid 50lbs since then.  They have a toddler and a baby on the way.  This train derailment is going to be ugly, and seems inevitable unfortunately (this brother has become kind of a miserable bastard too).  Other brother got married last weekend to a chick that's been married before, has at least one kid she's unsure of who the actual dad is, and ended her previous marriage by going to her ex-husband's family's private campground, and trashing several campers that belonged to him and assorted family.

I get your argument but single people don't just have bars as options to pick someone up. They could have someone that is just a phone call away, and I know some guys who can basically order sex off apps like Tinder.

I’d say it’s also a bit skewed when comparing married to unmarried. Every person in a marriage entered the situation due to a mutual attraction and the desire to bone each other. 100% of married people (excluding a small percent that are in unhappy marriages), have someone around willing to have sex with them. That’s not at all true for non-married people. Many of those don’t have anyone remotely attracted to them. Many others aren’t social. All sorts of reasons why the average would be skewed way down for that crowd because a significant portion of them have sex zero times a month, year, whatever timeframe you’re looking at.

Yeah unfortunately there's a fair percentage of dudes who couldn't get laid in the proverbial women's prison with a handful of pardons.

Here is a good, but long, explanation by Jordan Peterson. The list is, that Women want equal or above. They are obviously more invested in sex, as they have the chance to get pregnant, and if they end up single (single mother) they slide down the socioeconomic scale. Men date equal or down, because they can leave. The video mainly chastises men, for not doing things to make them equal or better.

This.

The hot guys are slaying and the others are living in a dessert.  The math is probably something like 20% of the population of single men having over 50% of the sex that averages out to 33 times a year.

Before I married I dated a lawyer the same age as me that made a little more than me but was going to be steady while I had a bigger upside on income (She was maxed on potential growth).  She wanted to marry and came with a lake house and other shit but was really a downer in some areas.  We would have traveled a lot but I broke up and married the next one who was 8 years younger with an art degree and wanted to be a stay at home mom.

Does the "MRS" degree play a bigger role these days as the demographics shift?

One would think that the drive to find a mate would start to increase for women, while in college. Especially with their being more women than men. The statistics bear out that most college educated people find their spouse while in college. I bear that out, I know Brisket did, another mutual friend, several of CHIEF Jr.'s friends all found spouses in college.

Women are going to have to change their concept of "educated" from only a classically college educated individual to also include men that are trained in technologies and highly skilled trades that may not have come from a STEM program at a standard four year college or university. Educated and financially successful are great, but so are other traits sexual attraction, honesty, trustworthiness, empathy, compassion, pride in one's self, etc.

https://fortune.com/2022/10/18/russia-population-historic-decline-emigration-war-plunging-birth-rate-form-perfect-storm/

We're going to see crazy instability post Ukraine war because of the already-existing population collapse in Russia only being accelerated by have a Grade A retard in charge over there.

Quote

President Vladimir Putin spent years racing against Russia’s demographic clock, only to order an invasion of Ukraine that’s consigning his country’s population to a historic decline

Besides casualties in the thousands on the battlefield, the enlistment of 300,000 reservists to join the fight — and an even bigger flight of men abroad — is derailing Putin’s goals of starting to stabilize the population already this year.

Crippling disruptions from the war are converging with a population crisis rooted in the 1990s, a period of economic hardship after the Soviet breakup that sent fertility rates plunging. Independent demographer Alexei Raksha is calling it “a perfect storm.”

Plans by Putin’s government had set the goal of starting to reverse the decline in the population in 2022 before growth should resume in 2030. Yet weeks before the mobilization was announced in September, an internal report drafted for a closed-door meeting showed officials were already concluding those targets were unrealistic.

Citing the consequences of the coronavirus and migration outflows, the report instead proposed a revision that envisaged a decrease of 416,700 people in 2030.

Should military operations continue in the coming months, as expected, Russia may see less than 1.2 million births next year, the lowest in modern history, according to Igor Efremov, a researcher and specialist in demographics at the Gaidar Institute in Moscow. Total deaths in Russia average close to 2 million annually, though the number increased during the pandemic and approached 2.5 million last year.

‘Chief Blow’

“The chief blow to the birth rate will be indirect, because most families will have their planning horizon completely destroyed as a result,” Efremov said. “And the impact will be stronger the longer the mobilization lasts.”

A demographic reckoning has arrived for Russia, its economy starved of young employees and now at risk of stagnation or worse long after the war is over. Bloomberg Economics now estimates Russia’s potential growth rate at 0.5%, down two percentage points from before the war — with demographics accounting for about a quarter of the downgrade.

Unfavorable demographics in the areas of Ukraine that Putin plans to annex is only likely to add to the challenges Russia faces from a growing population burden, Renaissance Capital economists said in a report this month.

While demographic traumas usually play out over decades, the fallout of the invasion is making the worst scenarios more likely — and much sooner than expected.

For Putin, who just turned 70, Russian demography has long been an existential issue, and just last year he declared that “saving the people of Russia is our top national priority.” He’s presided over efforts to buy time with costly policies that contributed to a steep gain in longevity and ranged from lump payments for new mothers to mortgage relief for families.

But as Russia approached the invasion of Ukraine in February, it was coming off its deadliest year since World War II — made worse by the pandemic — with the population in decline since 2018. It reached 145.1 million on Aug. 1, a fall of 475,500 since the start of the year and down from 148.3 million in 1991, when the Soviet Union collapsed.

The continuation of the military campaign and mobilization until the end of next spring would be “catastrophic,” according to Efremov, likely bringing births down to just 1 million in the 12 months to mid-2024. The fertility rate may reach 1.2 children per woman, he said, a level Russia saw only once in 1999-2000.

A fertility rate of 2.1 is needed to keep populations stable without migration.

“It is likely that in conditions of uncertainty, many couples will postpone having children for some time until the situation stabilizes,” said Elena Churilova, research fellow in the Higher School Economics’s International Laboratory for Population and Health. “In 2023, we are likely to see a further decline in the birth rate.”

TLDR; Russia was always heading for a demographic crisis.  Putin's folly has made it much worse.  And on top of that, many of the people Russia lost (mostly via fleeing the country) were among the "best and brightest."  Russia is now less-populated, poorer, and dumber.

China is facing a similar demographic crisis.

Bad demography leads to shitty economies, discord, and instability.  Having those two powers facing those crunches in the next decade or so means we're entering (shit, we're already well into it) a dangerous period of history.

I should have read my emails this morning first before posting:

“Today, the population of Earth will reach the 8 billion milestone, according to UN projections. It’s the result of an epic growth spurt in the last century: There were just 2 billion humans in 1925, and 4 billion as recently as 1974—so we once again doubled our numbers in less than 50 years. Corporate will love to hear that!

What drove the growth? People are living better, for longer. Child and maternal mortality rates are down, scientists have developed cures for deadly diseases, and extreme poverty rates have plunged.

But growth is hitting a wall, and it will reshape society

The world population is expected to peak in the 2080s at 10.4 billion people, hang there for a few decades, then fall at the dawn of the 22nd century. The reason: Fertility rates are declining, and many countries are not producing enough babies to maintain growth. The populations of 61 countries are projected to drop by at least 1% by 2050, with Eastern Europe suffering the biggest losses.

Shrinking populations alarm economists. Fewer kids means fewer workers contributing to the economy, at the same time the growing ranks of older people will require financial support. Everything from our cities to our healthcare systems will need to be reimagined.

Other countries have the opposite issue. While dozens of nations are grappling with population loss, other countries are experiencing population booms. Eight countries, including Nigeria, Tanzania, and Pakistan, will account for more than half of the projected population increase by 2050. Such blistering population growth can strain resources and make it harder to reduce poverty and provide education, the UN says.

Still, with peak human population on the horizon, we should expect demographic decline to become a more prominent policy issue. Per the UN, in 2050 the number of people 65 or over will be more than double the number of kids under five”

Low birth rates are because women party too much.

https://fortune.com/2022/11/06/poland-jaroslaw-kaczynski-young-women-drinking-too-much-behind-low-birth-rate/

A powerful Polish politician sparked fresh controversy by drawing a link between what he said was excessive drinking among young women and the country’s low birth rate.

Jaroslaw Kaczynski, leader of the ruling Law & Justice party, made the comment at a meeting with voters late on Saturday in Elk, northeastern Poland.

It was just the latest in a string of recent broadsides by Kaczynski at targets as varied as Poland’s opposition, its transgender community and Germany. He’s been touring small towns to bolster support for his party ahead of the general elections expected in October 2023.

“We’re not going to see any babies if girls, young women, continue to drink like their equals until they’re 25,” Kaczynski, 73, who has never married and has no children, said to laughter from the audience.

“The fewest children in Poland are in Warsaw, so it’s not only an economic issue, but also a certain attitude of people, especially women,” he added.

I see it working in the opposite direction. If women make up more of the highly educated and high incomes, most of them will not have their choice. Most women do not want a husband that makes less than them. There are exceptions but it's that, an exception.  There's a reason the stereotype exists that women want 6 foot tall, a few years older and earning more. Going for a guy earning half of her income is settling. Really settling.
Colleges are starting to give preferential treatment to young men in an attempt to even out the numbers. The guys still have to qualify but women have to have higher scores for admission.

Whoh. As a female I completely disagree. I’ve made more money than my husband for years and couldn’t be happier with the situation.
