I don't see Mike Judge going the woke route. He'd definitely be giving the woke crowd shit.

Oh yeah. Bobby would be a woke late-20s adult and Hank would be absolute annoyed by it and constantly saying something about it.

Peggy would try to be woke and constantly get it wrong and be like “I have an Asian friend” (Minh) or “I have an Asian daughter in law” if Bobby and Connie got married.

One of the all time best ... but I don't see how it gets made in 2021 without being woked into boredom.

MJ can run circles around the woke mob, but they might come after him for lack of targets.  KOTH was the only show of its era that portrayed how blue staters appear to reds.

Holy shit the idea of Bobby being a dad strikes me as really hilarious for some reason.

Especially if Bobby's kid looks like John Redcorn.

Bobby and Connie's "kid" is going to be a little yappy dog Bobby carries around in a Baby Bjorn, much to Hank's consternation.

Connie and Joseph will have been a couple, and after their breakup, she comes to Bobby for comfort, and he is squarely in the friend zone, which is probably ok with him, because you know that little fucker is still a virgin.

Or...maybe he's gay.  Now that would be something that Hank would struggle with, but ultimately be accepting of.

I definitely want this, but I hope Greg Daniels is involved as well.

Mike Judge on his own is capable of Season 1 of Silicon Valley. He’s also capable of Season 6 of Silicon Valley.

Was season 6 bad? I just realized we thought 5 was the final season.

When did Silicon Valley get bad? Definitely after Erlich left at the end of season 4. I remember not loving that season either. I’d say it was a strong show for the first 3 seasons.

SV would have struggled simply because the guys had become successful, and you can only ping-pong between succeeding, fucking up, changing your app, succeeding again, etc. so many times before it gets old.

I also felt like they were struggling with the Gavin Belson subplots (and I loved the actor/character).  Can only have him fuck around and find out so many times.

I feel like Bill has to be excessively attached to Facebook, sharing inspirational memes and quotes, oversharing about his personal struggles, and updating everyone on their old classmates.  He also gets unusually caught up in politics as a result.  He thinks Trump's a bully, but he's also terrified about thousands of refugees from Honduras storming the border.

We had Gilfoyle v Dinesh with Russ Hanneman to fill in the gaps.

Bobby will be a ventriloquist playing the Oklahoma Indian Casino circuit. Bill will have aged 15 years and look exactly the same. They'll continue to paint the small town conservativism without being very blunt about it politically. They were always pretty good about balancing that line. I think they had some gay characters and other political issues where Hank's discomfort is hilarious. He doesn't want to talk about it and doesn't talk politically about it, but just his awkwardness at stuff like that was funny.

Buck Strickland would have to be dead 15 years later. How many heart attacks can one man have?

Hank still isn't #1 at Strickland, as Buck left it to someone incompetent and Hank is still carrying the load while not being properly compensated.

So how many kids does Joseph have?

Buck sold out to Texgas, Inc and made a killing off the stock before dying from his 33rd heart attack.

Hank still works at Strickland under Buck's son Jody "Rayroy" Strickland, who we learn also has a Strickland Propane in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

We saw him once in "What Happens at the National Propane Gas Convention in Memphis Stays at the National Propane Gas Convention in Memphis."

'King of the Hill' to Return in Series From Original Creators' New Animation Company

'King of the Hill' to Return in Series From Original Creators' New Animation Company

It looks like fans of the long-running animated series King of the Hill have reason to celebrate, as it has just been announced that the series will be revived twelve years after its final episode aired, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Original series creators Greg Daniels and Mike Judge will return to oversee the series through their new animation company, Bandera Entertainment.

There are more than a dozen projects in the works under the newly formed animation company, but perhaps the most notable is the King of the Hill revival. The series originally aired from 1997 until 2010 and followed the banal yet entertaining exploits of the humble citizens of Arlen, Texas. Upon its premiere in 1997, the show was an almost immediate success, and offered a unique insight into the middle-America mindse, led by the moral compass of propane and propane accessory salesman Hank Hill.

No details were given about plot or production details for the revival. The news comes along with news of several other projects from the new animation company, including the upcoming Netflix series Bad Crimes. This also follows news of the revival of Judge's series, Beavis and Butt-Head, which was announced before the formation of Bandera. Beavis and Butt-Head was the MTV series which launched Judge into the mainstream, and much of its original content was used for inspiration for King of the Hill.

After both Beavis and Butt-Head and King of the Hill, Judge went on to create Silicon Valley for HBO, a series which plays with Judge's own experience working in Silicon Valley. Daniels has had extensive experience within animation aside from King of the Hill. Prior to joining the FOX show, Daniels worked on The Simpsons for several years, and currently, he works on the Netflix series Space Force starring Steve Carell.

No details regarding the plot for the King of the Hill revival have been released, but as Daniels said of his work for Bandera Entertainment, “[w]e were very excited to go into different tones and different styles and try to expand the animation art form." Maybe, then, there are some exciting changes in store for our favorite Arlenites. (Or are they Arlenians? The world may never know).

All seasons of King of the Hill are now available to stream on Hulu.

Cracked had an article outlining some of my endless frustrations in trying to nail down the location of Arlen.  However, they left out what in my mind is one of the biggest clues:

1. Arlen is a single high school town.  This rules out, even in the 1990s, many of the DFW suburbs (Garland, Arlington, Richardson, etc.) that are usually thrown out by fans theorizing.

2. Tom Landry Middle School plays Belton in football.  Anyone who played junior high football knows that the schedule is almost always within the high school district or a subdivision of the high school district .  At most, you might play a middle school from the next district over if the districts are geographically compact.  It's a safe bet that Arlen is a district rival of Belton at the high school level.

I contend that Arlen is almost certainly located within a rough triangle formed by connecting Llano, Bryan-College Station, and Waco.

In for the Dale QAnon storylines and Peggy being terrible at Spanish.

Peggy’s Spanish is such a uniquely Texan thing. Bad accent, improper use of words. My roommate in college was constantly messing up with native Spanish speakers while insisting he was fluent. It was hilarious to watch.

I feel like Dale won't be so obvious as to go with QAnon.  Dale's defining feature is paranoia and being "smarter" than everyone else-- so he'll be convinced something so widespread as QAnon is some kind of government conspiracy itself.  I could see Bill being into QAnon, because he is a sad-sack that looks for inclusion and falls for dumb stuff-- if they touch QAnon.

I also think we can get a romance storyline with Bill. Some young thing targeting his military pension, which he should be close to getting if he decided to keep cutting hair on base.

Gatesville.  One school town next to Fort Hood.

Yeah I’ll be interested how they tow that line these days. It’s a much nastier place now with politics and in Texas especially. I bet Dale goes all in on the Bill Gates chips in the covid vaccines in a way that is hilarious and not too serious.

I always pictured Arlen as Sealy.

In the show, Arlen is portrayed as being in Central Texas.  A few maps that showed up in different episodes and dialogue state that Arlen borders or is near towns like Belton, Killeen, and Temple. As well as being along the Brazos River.  This would seem to imply Arlen's location to be within the Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood Metropolitan area.

Are they going to age them? So like 60 years old Hank and 36 years old Bobby?

I'll give it a try but just won't be the same without Luanne and Cotton. Cotton Hill top 5 TV character of the last 30 years.

Well, Cotton was dead before the show went off the air.
