Took these a few years ago but was going through some old photos the other day. Bought a fixer-upper near Mt Bonnell with an overgrown landscape. I had the tree service take out a huge magnolia tree and a significant trimming for the Live Oaks. I had no idea what the result would be until we neared the end. Results of the final two cuts:

Go cut down a few of your neighbor’s trees in the middle of the night and add a mil and a half to your asking price!

East Avenue stretched from about 5th Street up to 19th (MLK). 
I-35 was completed through that section in the early 1960s, IIRC.
