I will continue to call it the hike and bike trail.

I will continue to call it Drownie McDrownie Murder Trail....for my own personal reasons which I don't want to discuss.

So stop asking!

Preach Amy Poehler GIF by Sisters

And there's parts of Travis that are deep enough, that it's beyond the reach of some casual scuba diving accidentally discovering them.

For fuck's sake...the first rule of dumping bodies in Lake Travis is don't talk about dumping bodies in Lake Travis.

I should not go to Rainy tonight?

Just make sure you use a drink condom when you go….  Ending up in the lake after leaving Rainey is definitely odd because I would think most people leaving the bars don’t head towards the lake as there’s no access to 35 or a way to get out of the area down by the lake.

Holy fucking shit. Also, I don’t rule out a potential serial killer being female. Could be homeless person… I think about these last few guys and they were out with friends and celebrating and there are only a few things that would make you separate from your group of friends. Sex, drugs, where you parked (you are leaving but why would you stroll by the lake)…

I guess “the authorities will look into this” some more? Wtf?

I don’t care how drunk I am, I’m not wondering off to the lake with a homeless lady….  And unless the lady is like Chyna, they aren’t beating me and dumping me in the lake.

She’s dead. And you’re now suspect number one.

Just last month, the Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) installed four sets of solar-power lights and a fence on the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail near Rainey Street.

———————

Clearly these are super effective? Right? Take that Rainey Street/Town Lake Serial Killer! Signs!

What are light going to do at 2:30 am or later on the lake over there?  Are other people still down there at that hour?  Maybe lights and cameras.

‘Lake Beyond this Point’

That doesn’t even make sense sober; let alone shitfaced at 2am.

It’s literally impossible all the condo cams down there haven’t picked something up.  takes ten minutes for the cops to ask residents to pull footage from the dates in question.  Why is this not happened yet?  And yes, it is criminally under lit; but ample bike lanes!

Man we have people posting here that the cops aren’t responding to aggravated home break ins with an actual visit.  You think they are on top of solving any crimes?   They cut 1/3-1/4 the force, cancelled cadet classes and can’t refill the staff now for various issues.  It’s not hard to figure out that it’s a shit show right now.  Definitely need new people in charge because what’s going on now isn’t working.

I share the frustration but you’d think there’d be one homicide detective who gives fuck one and would get off his ass and go pull footage from the nights in question from residents/business down there to make a name for himself as solving a serial killer mystery.

According to this below missing person flier that was put up around town yesterday by the Jon’s family (and reading some of tweets surrounding the flier) he told his friends he was hungry. He was last seen at a taco truck on Rainey Street. Also, ever since this topic came up here on surly been checking all the local news sites to see if there have been any bodies or anyone reported missing (check all 4 major tv networks/sites) and unless I missed it I didn’t see any stories yesterday about a missing man. Unbelievable. I hope the family members of the last few drowning victims start raising some hell and putting some pressure on the city somehow. They deserve some answers and not just: “hey these people were just black out drunk and accidents happen.” Because clearly many of the family members of the victims do not believe that is the case.

One of the only things I did learn when my sorority sister was murdered by a serial killer back in 2002 in Baton Rouge was (a) you can have more than one SK operating at one time (Baton Rouge had three male serial killers (two black males and one white male) killing women at the same time over a 20 year period) and if the victims are of a different race police have a tougher time putting it all together. Like whites only hunt whites and so on. Totally debunked by what happened in Baton Rouge.

I've always assumed there are at least three serial killers posting on Surly at any given time.

Maybe the could start ticketing drowning victims since it’s illegal to swim in the lake. Which is what they will probably do rather than you know, figure out what the hell is going on down there.

I called the area rep or whatever the policeman in charge of a particular part of the city is called a few weeks ago and the call pissed me off more than the trouble that they needed to investigate. There is a gaming establishment where prostitution and drug sales take place. All the area businesses are pissed because graffiti, rocks through windows, damage to cars, etc. have increased due to the business. In the evening customers need to be escorted to their cars especially when customers are having problems getting into or starting their car because of a gaming device that screws up FOB signals. Homes in the area are also having problems and they are circulating a petition. One business in particular told me that they tried to get police out but they couldn't.

So, the area rep asks me a detail or two and then asks me if my wife had called. I said no. She then asked, "Are you sure she didn't call?" I said I didn't think so. She then said, "Yes, she did call". I so wanted to tell her - No she didn't call, bitch. And it wouldn't fucking matter if she did. Did you check out the area? Did you do a single fucking thing? It sounds like you are accusing the victims instead of addressing the issue. Is this your intention?

Instead of going off on her, I said again "No she didn't call but I know that my nextdoor business neighbor called". She said, "I haven't had any other calls on the subject". I said, "Well maybe they didn't speak with you". She then said, "All that I know is that you and your wife were the only one's to call".

Fuck the area rep in her goat ass. If that area rep for Rainey is anything like my area rep, they aren't going to do shit except as you stated, maybe ticket the drowning victims for swimming in the lake.
