which is exactly what people used to skewer Ewers about...

Yep. We were shitty in pass pro too. Ewers just got the ball out so it didnt seem bad. Yesterday Arch tried to take one deep shot and coincidentally was sacked.

Talk to me after Georgia or Vanderbilt even if you don’t think your QB with a shitty oline with one of the worst releases times in college football isn’t a problem..

enough already. He was looking deep and sark was wanting him to look deep, that changed yesterday. The situation is evolving rapidly. Jesus Christ man.

Thanks for sharing.

The very clear decision for Arch not to run or take hits was an interesting development. Some wide open spaces but chose to throw the ball and trusted himself and the receivers. And sliding on his runs. The anti-hero ball game plan.

The two QBs had the inverse of problems imo. Quinn couldn’t hit deep because he as bad at it, Arch wasn’t hitting check downs and underneath because he was trying to go deep too much

I suppose but maybe also the Sark offense moves better hitting checkdowns and underneath, especially when you have trouble running the ball against solid fronts.  I'm just commenting that no one is calling Manning "Checkdown Charlie".

the thing I see from Manning that is completely different from Quinn is that he can move and hit receivers on the run.  he had a couple of throws rolling left, which is much harder, that were pretty damn good.

Were you there yesterday, too? You weren't the one to call Mateer a fsggot behind us, were you? It had to be a Surly

I screamed it at the TV and said I could smell his mother's vagina over the airwaves. Had to keep a can of Glade at hand as well as fly spray.

Loved seeing him convert plays escaping the pocket. The game in the 2nd half seemed to slow down for him. At one point the offense converted 7 straight 3rd downs. The rpo where he kept the ball and ran down the sideline for 30 yards was the only running he had to do and it was at the exact perfect time. God bless this kid.

What on earth were you doing in Oklahoma, and the bigger question is how do they have TVs?

Yeah, stayed in bounds, didn’t take a hit, slid down before they could try to punch it out, waved bye bye to the Sooners. It was excellent.

I saw it. It actually made the Florida game worse for me bc I said arch was fine/good given the context unlike OSU where it felt like he was point shaving. Fixing 1 guy is easier/better than fixing the entire team which was the difference between OSU game and Florida.

Yep. I seent it too, and said as much, but some people ain't got time for that, and apparently would rather just be miserable.

This really needs more attention. It seems that Sark learned from the Florida disaster. He gave Arch quick, easy throws. Offense moves the ball. Arch gets more confident. Makes better throws later in the game.

Agreed. Which begs the question, why did it take Sark that long to learn and craft a game plan like the one we saw Saturday? A lot of this board has been begging for that for weeks now. (Or, in Surl-speak: "Come on, dude, we're pretty fuckin' dumb and we saw it.")

I think Sark heard all the bitching about Ewers inability to throw the deep ball with any accuracy. He then ignored that the OL cannot pass protect long enough for deep pass plays to materialize and while Arch has a great arm he couldn’t make the passes under duress.

Losing to Florida I hope crystallized for Sark that Arch needs to get rid of ball faster, move pocket and sitting Stroh’s leprous ass work to allow the offense to sustain drives and to let D rest.

There were many grande plays in this game. One of the biggest was when Arch rolled right and delivered that perfect strike to Alan Jackson inches from the sideline. First and ten, do it again.

Deep balls work a lot better when the safetys have to worry about the run a little

It's been a running criticism that Sark stubbornly refuses to take green grass. Seems he finally made some much needed adjustments after almost getting  Arch killed last week.

I think our little Archie might be growing into his big boy pants. We shall see. Nobody left on our schedule is some Juggernaut, but they need to just cover the games that aren't immediately the next one up. And yes, we are beating aggy. They're a paper tiger. Actually, even on paper they're not very good. But they are a top-5 team while roller-coaster season is approaching, but I want them healthy and with no injuries, because I want zero excuses for when we absolutely go gonzo rape their faces.

We are trending up, and they are about to get humbled very, very soon. This has nothing to do with the ou game, this is just an objective fact. We own them, just like we own ou.

I hope that explains why Arch was late delivering the ball. Moore was so open that Arch made a sandwich and attached it to the football before throwing it to Moore.

The second half was the best called game this year. The 3rd qtr was the best sark 3rd qtr.

question. In the second half we started running the ball with arch under center almost like a stretch zone looking play that actually was successful and started to churn up yards  I don’t recall us trying to run that previously.

OK, yeah, we’ll talk after those games.

So, just to be sure, you are not happy with a 23-6 win over #6 Oklahoma because of your theory that QB release times determine outcomes?

okay

LOL. Yep. This 'release time' shit reminds me of the dumbasses crying about VY sidearming passes. Move him to TE!!

Yep. The number of 15-25 yard throws vs Florida was just stupid, esp on like 2nd & 5, etc. Some of us have been wondering all season where the short passing was, and saying it should have been used from the get-go to get Arch some confidence and rhythm. Yesterday was the most relaxed and confident we've seen Arch this year. Hard to believe it took 6 games ...

Arch has been coming along for awhile.  The oline and running game made big strides yesterday, hopefully a sign of things to come.
