I’ve said it before in this thread.  It’s going to be fascinating to see how far she can make it, “spitting that hot fire”.  I don’t agree with a lot of her agenda but I respect the effort.

She is merely a puppet for the Democratic socialist taking control of the Democratic Party. Her brother answered an open audition for casting candidates to primary established candidates without her knowledge.  He campaign manger and his team “are” AOC. It’s incredibly easy to see anytime she goes off script.

The leaders of the group who found her to be their mouth piece did the same and have an established goal of taking over the Democratic Party to advance their extreme ideologies.

Before she won the audition, had she ever stated one political though publicly anywhere?

The group needed a celebrity with star power who can simply parrot their policy ideas.

"Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women; what then do You say?" They were saying this, testing Him, so that they might have grounds for accusing Him. But Jesus stooped down and with His finger wrote on the ground. But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."

Cool. What’s really cool is people who use that parable as an excuse to keep stoning people and demanding that nobody else can interfere, lest they be “fake virtue signalers.” That’s super cool.

I think it’s super awesome how modern conservachristians love using scripture as a shield for all of the vile shit they do. It’s my favorite part of today’s America.

It’s been lost in this thread, but I’m still curious why mr “I’m totally not a racist how dare you call me a racist?!?!!!!!!” onboard parroted the stupid racist far-right theory that Omar married her brother to get him citizenship. You know, since he’s definitely not racist.

I'm not a road warrior, and I don't wrangle airline points like Spanky, but I've flown plenty, and I'm pretty sure I'd remember if some filthy "Asian" crawled over me.

I say she's a bit of a bonehead, and if it's true she married her brother to gain entry to the US, then she shouldn't be here, and illustrates the kinds of things wrong with our immigration system.

If it's also true she refuses to assimilate (as has been reported, and I don't now to what extent of assimilation she was refusing) then why is she here or an elected gov't official for that matter?

ISIS is an enemy of the US, and they don't deserve any more compassion than a dry cell, 3 meals a day, and humane treatment typical of any other prisoner incarcerated in the federal prison system.

@Onboard 2.0

If it's TRUE #1. From what I can tell, she moved here at the age of 14 after having spent 4 years with her family in a refugee camp in Kenya. Her family was resettled to the US as refugees.

If its TRUE #2. You claim she refuses to assimilate? She learned the language, she earned a college degree AND she is the first Somali American elected to legislative office in the US. What the fuck more do you want? If you dont like her religion, or the fact that she wears a hijab, just admit it. I assume you also recoil in horror when you see a Jewish man wear a yarmulke.

That entire post was nothing more than right wing fear mongering bullshit. It obviously works as your third paragraph was a disjointed attack on ISIS, so  I can only assume you are attempting to associate Omar with that ideology.

In short, fuck off.

The first few minutes of this are hard to watch.  Dude needs to get to the point quicker.  The last 5 to ten minutes have some interesting information.  Had no idea about the violent dude counterpart to Ghandi.(had never even thought to research India politics back during his time though)

It is good to get information on this type of campaign but it is perfectly legal.

The part about making less than X means you don't have to report who you get donations from is interesting.(point made in the last few minutes)

The young turks connection is hilarious.  Only thing I had heard of them was when they were crying on election night 2016.

So wait, did that Rep really marry her brother?

at 3:49  of the video AOC says "200 million Americans make less than $20,000 a year".  That isn't a correct stat. So the critique is correct, in fact the 'handlers' said 60 million, not 200 million, so she flubbed the number.

If you count Americans individually the 200 million number is low. Out of 325 million Americans a little over 125 million have full-time jobs. I have no idea if that is what she meant.

counting kids under 18, blind, severely disabled, mentally handicapped,  and retirees over 70 isn't a good way to figure 200 million jobless. But I understand the mathematical point of your statement.

Bullshit. 100% bullshit. See the post below.

Shit, what’s “pure American” varies by region WITHIN THE COUNTRY. In Texas, hanging around the smoker, football tailgates, dove hunts on opening day, etc, are pure America. In Vermont...it’s quite different, but also 100% American. That’s not even accounting for what different ethnicities bring to the table - dozens of cities have a “Chinatown,” or “little Italy,” or any of another 100 nationality-based communities. And that’s cool, and utterly American.

Shit, one of my daughter’s life dreams is to move to Berlin and open a Texas taco joint. Breakfast tacos, fajitas, chips and queso. And shit, make a big deal out of Texas Independence Day, and the Fourth of July. She loves Germany, she loves speaking German...but she’ll always be an American and Texan by birth wherever she lives, and that’s okay. Germany would be richer for it (because tacos). And we’re richer for the waves of Italians, and Irish, and Chinese, and Bangladeshis, and Mexicans, etc etc.

Oh, and as for rude behavior, trust me, regular ‘murican white folks regularly compete in that shit at an Olympic level. Just because their assholery is more familiar to you doesn’t mean that it ain’t assholery.

The only people who don’t appreciate the net benefit that immigrants have brought us and continue to bring us are insecure losers. And as we have a shitload of those, friction ensues.

Travel to any foreign country, and the biggest assholes are the American tourists (although Germans get honorable mention).

Or should I stop looking at the actual proposed cuts by GOP? Let's see just for last year proposed cuts of 2.1 trillion to health care programs, 923 billion in cuts to income security programs, and $231  billion in cuts to education and social service programs. All proposed by the House GOP. Oh, and maintaining massive tax cuts for the rich.

Maybe you should start paying attention to things other than right wing propaganda.
