What a petty small dicked man we have in the Oval Office

https://www.cnn.com/2025/03/21/politics/security-clearances-trump-harris-clinton/index.html

Trump rescinds security clearances of political rivals Harris, Clinton and others

Spoiler

President Donald Trump, in a late-night Friday memo, directed federal agencies to revoke security clearances for more than a dozen of his perceived political enemies, including former Vice President Kamala Harris and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“I have determined that it is no longer in the national interest for the following individuals to access classified information” Trump said in the memo. “I hereby direct every executive department and agency head to take all additional action as necessary and consistent with existing law to revoke any active security clearances held by the aforementioned individuals and to immediately rescind their access to classified information.”

The memo applies to classified briefings and any access the individuals might have had to classified information based on previous tenure in Congress.

The move marks the latest instance of Trump pulling security clearances from political rivals, after the president in February said he was “immediately” revoking former President Joe Biden’s security clearance and stopping his daily intelligence briefing. He has also used similar rescissions to crackdown on top law firms.

Friday’s memo formalized the revocation of Biden’s security clearance, along with several others who the Trump administration has previously said it removed clearances from, and went on to block the former president’s family’s access to classified information – assuming they had any.

In addition to his Democratic rivals in the 2016 and 2024 election, Trump also revoked clearances from the two Republicans on the House committee that investigated his role in the January 6, 2021, insurrection, former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney and former Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger.

Earlier this month Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said that in accordance with a directive from Trump, she had revoked the security clearances of a number of the people named in Friday’s memo, including top Biden officials, former Secretary of State Antony Blinken and former National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, as well as two of the attorneys who brought legal cases against Trump: New York Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

In another late-night memo on Friday, Trump revisited past grudges against lawyers who have opposed him and vowed to punish lawyers and law firms by rescinding security clearances and canceling federal contracts they hold.

He directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to review the conduct of lawyers and law firms the administration considers to have filed frivolous lawsuits against the Trump administration or attempted to block immigration initiatives, broadening the president’s crackdown on the US legal community in the United States.

DoD:  The NYT story about sharing China war plans with Elon was made up fake news.  We are also going to poly everyone to find out who leaked this real and sensitive information.

It's like we're cosplaying these positions in our government. It would be an interesting experiment to see how long a country could last like that, if, you know, our lives didn't depend on it.

I'm just glad the children are gone, though.

Cosplay is exactly right, and Hegseth, Noem, Gabbard, Kash are the starkest examples.  They were a test to the GOP senate that failed.

Trump instinctively understands that American voters consume “government and politics” like reality TV. Trump’s circle of advisors that launched him are full of showbiz, wrestling, entertainment people. Before anything else, it helps to view this admin’s actions through the eyes of a show runner or promoter— establishing characters, storylines, cliffhangers.

Except that’s also where it stops.  There’s no back room where they break kayfabe and do any real work except foe grift and punishing enemies.

Also, while there is probably fraud, meaning fake, trumped-up disabilities (bone spurs) in the Social Security Disability system, I think there is very, very little fraud in the "old age" benefits.

And the fraud in disability is not payment fraud, it's fraud in the procurement, which stopping payment does nothing to discover or prevent, except in the most ham-handed way possible.

Call his bluff. Shouldn’t be that hard. And if he follows through, it’s just another example to people of what a small person he is that he should be removed.

This is what is going to happen.  They will randomly cut off letters of the alphabet (this month, last names beginning with M, next month, S) to see what happens. Trump will go along with this, because he's been told this is how to get rid of fraud.   The GOP will applaud.

This ship sailed a loooooong time ago. They wouldn't remove him when he tried to install himself as an un-elected dictator.

Honestly, whatever he could do that would actually make them impeach and remove him is too terrible to even imagine.

You can explain Doge with just two numbers ...

#1 - $8 million a day. That’s how much Elon Musk collects in federal government contracts.

#2 - $65 a day. That’s how much the average senior gets from Social Security.

Elon Musk isn’t looking to cut actual waste, fraud, and abuse from Big Pharma, Big Tech, or his own $8 million a day. He’s looking to cut the $65 a day people receive from Social Security.

Joke’s on you. Imagine the most terrible thing possible…it still wouldn’t be enough.
He could use nuclear weapons against American cities that defy his orders (and thus he deems them to be “in rebellion”)…and his sycophants would just say “it was maybe heavy handed, but you have to follow the president’s orders or face consequences.”
You know I’m right. The GQP is a terrorist movement with nuclear weapons. In other words…Russia II.

The math:

$8 million to Musk each day ÷ $65 per day to the average senior = 123,077 Social Security recipients

If you asked me to describe Trump and Musk in three words, waste, fraud, and abuse would do it.

And that dude is 100% right.

Donald Trump just single-handedly destroyed the American defense industry, and he did it in 60 days. An all-hands-on-desk frontal attack by Russia couldn’t have done any better.

Guess I should polish up my resume.....

I think he's looking to privatize the administration of Social Security and any other federal bureaucracy whose administration hasn't been privatized already.

I see about 50 people with suspicious VACP deposits for every 1 with SSI.  I'm sure some of those VA ones are legit ones that aren't physically viewable, but there are plenty Trump lovers like my uncle that has been on 100% for years for "bad knees" that he somehow got in Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War. He spends his time now golfing, fishing, and driving around complaining to local businesses about how their flags aren't being flown properly.

They were going to get to make a bunch of shit to replace what we were going to give to the Ukrainians too, but now not so much. So domestic orders-down. Foreign orders- gonezo.

bail them out too, like the farmers?

companies can’t lose money because that’s wrong, but people can lose money.  Well, certain people. Not the ones that can afford to lose some money.
