My sister rode quadrille. My niece is a Comanche. Connie was a legend. She was a drill sergeant.

I just got confirmation that Jane Ragsdale, the operator/owner of Heart of the Hills drowned.

Are you serious.

Please say this is just speculation and not 100% true.

We’ve migrated back to Kerrville, actually my side of town (south). Birds are doing slow, low level passes. I’m back at my house. But the flight pattern, and the non-urgency of the helicopters, make me sick at what they’re now looking for.

It's still a rescue situation and not yet a recovery op. Known victims would be gotten to first with a quick, deliberate flights. What you described above are active search patterns.

Finding adults (even harder kids) in brush or trees in flood waters takes time and slow, deliberate, repetitive flight paths.

dps official - expecting this to be a mass casualty event

Once I saw that the entire RV camp was swept away, in the middle of the night, I feared as such. On top of the camps.

So sad.

It’s true.
Reports of blackhawks ( and if so, no doubt the TXTF1 birds out of Austin and SA) along with Travis County STARFlight and TX DPS.
Pretty sure this is one of the DPS birds hoisting below...(lower left corner video)

Lower left vid is a DPS bird.

23 unaccounted for from Camp Mystic, per Dan Patrick

that's just one of the camps. stuff of absolute nightmares.  i'm deeply afraid this will go down as one of the most horrific events in Texas history.

TxDot finished redoing the Hwy 281 bridge over the Guadalupe within the last year. Tonight the water and debris are supposed to peak 10 feet over the road. I don't see how it survives.

Small problem compared to those missing.

I feel like I'm going to puke.  When some crusty old ass like me dies in one of these events, that's sad.  Little kids at summer camp?  That's just totally heart-breaking.

No words. I’m sure the remainder of the terms this summer will be cancelled but how long does it take to recover?

Three generations of the same Texas family are also missing in the floodwaters. Deeann and Gary Knetch, their daughter Megan Moeller, her husband Jake Moeller and the couple's young daughter Harley were all staying in an RV at HTR Tx Hill Country Campground in Kerville.  News of their disappearance comes after it was reported that an entire RV park whose vehicles were filled with young families was swept away.

Was driving home from Austin Oak Hill HEB (confirmed open), about 15 minutes ago, and saw two Texas A &M search and rescue vehicles, one with a trailer stacked with two Zodiacs, hanging out at intersection of Circle Dr. and 290 West.  Hope they don’t run out of time.

fair point.  my summer camp experience was getting to work for the local farmers so I got to deal with aggies which may or may not be worse

there is no "may" about it.

I do hope they continue to develop warnings for flooding. Sirens 🚨 and all the bells and whistles. I just don’t know how you combat this below shared graphic  but I guess you have to think of it like a tornado warning. So to speak, you have minutes to move.

Wimberley wall of water was 42 feet. It's unfathomable.

I helped with cleanup along with some other posters here. Giant cypress trees just leveled and you could see the flood line 42 ft up. Seemed like 100 ft from the river bed.

That is the best word for it. unfathomable. Can’t have said it better, 😢 I need a cry emoji reaction.

This is where I wish I had the smarts to come up with something that would give people at least a few minutes. I’d take 5 mins over nothing. But i doubt anything could give you the requisite amount of time to get clear a coming a wall of water like that.

Nothing. I feel so defeated. 😞
