So the EU is going to pay for the wall? More FEMA Camps? What are they going to invest in?

Trump coins.  Or infrastructure development adjacent to Trump-owned properties.  Dude.  It's not hard.  Look at what any of a number of kleptocracies have done over the past 100 years....and we'll do that.

Toyota's FY26 Q1 (Apr-Jun) financial results came out yesterday.  Tariffs cost the company $2.9 billion in the quarter.  They've revised their operating income for the year down %15 ($4 billion). They reported an operating loss for North America in the first quarter, so it's hard to see how they can eat the tariffs for much longer.

The company reported a sharp decline in profit for the April-June quarter, with net income down nearly 40% and operating income falling 11% to $7.9 billion, despite higher sales. It cited a $2.9 billion tariff-related hit in the quarter alone, the largest reported by any automaker so far, and warned the full-year cost could reach $9.5 billion.

A whole lot of people are going to be going hungry soon. ABC News reporting that most house holds will spend an extra $2400 a year on items. For a house that’s already pay check to pay check - an extra $200 a month is going to hurt.

Correct.  The ability of Americans to connect actual policies to their actual effects.....versus attributing vague "gubmint did something" as the cause of everything bad in their lives, is astounding to me still.

They at once blame the government for shit it didn't do and doesn't control, while looking right past the actual real-world effects that government action has on their lives.  We deserve all the stupid shit we are getting, because we the people are mind-bendingly stupid.

Doesn't Hawley want to offset that with a whopping $600 check?

Like no worries, now it's just $1800/year
