Yeah, giving Trump a lifetime appointment probably was a mistake.

Counterpoint: if he chokes on a Big Mac this week, that appointment ends this week.  So....there's that.

My wife works in a construction related field. She's told me that, while they currently haven't lost work, they're having to work much harder to secure jobs. Her company is also looking to cut costs everywhere, notably cutting the company contribution to health care.

A friend of her's that also works in a construction related field said she's seen a big slow down in work for her company.

Another friend works in steel purchasing. She's seen a big slowdown there, especially compared to the past few years.

Health care costs to employers are skyrocketing this year.  You can thank the "Big Beautiful Bill."  It issued a SMOOOOOOTH buttfucking to healthcare insurance premiums across the board.  Every employer I know is 1) going to take a beating and absorb some of those costs, and 2) pass some of those costs on to their employees, because they're just to high to eat all of em.

It is common knowledge among mildly educated folks that business prefers stability and predictability.

That applies to all aspects of the law.  Which is why lawyers have been tearing their hair out for a while.  Nothing but "crazy Ivans" from the POTUS kills predictability.  Calvinball from the courts kills predictability.  Can't tell you how many lawyers I know who are so frustrated by our inability to advise our clients on what the law is/how a case should go.  When you have to tell them "well, the case law says it should turn out like X, but if Fox News gets hold of it, the Fifth Circuit is going to do somethin utterly wacky," that sucks.

There's really nothing good about this timeline.

Unless, of course, the Big Mac thing happens.  That would be nice.

@Brisketexan

I agree with you on damn near everything but I’m call bullshit on lawyers want consistency.
Hell, your clients don’t listen to you anyway and are going to do what they want to.

Your clients are likely MAGA as well.

Why not just, advise on case law, lose, appeal, and rake in the hrs?

Although the Supreme Court is kind of raining on your parade by allowing all this shit to go into effect and ruling on all these cases on the shadow docket. I can see where that sucks the big one. That’s like completely negating the district court, multiple appellate courts, and all those billable hrs never realized.

The Robert Court taking some serious bread from y’all.

Is no one thinking of the lawyers?!
