They are bluffing. Probably trying to walk back promises they made to him related to NIL when they were undefeated.

Not strictly transfer related, but significant roster news

  • This kind of shit from our fanbase wears me out. Sark took over a lost program and since we've been to 2 semis and should have been in the playoffs this year but for a committee that doesn't understan

They were coveting Lagway hard last year. I don't know if this season soured them on him, but he was their dream QB last year.

I can't see Aggie dropping Reed even if he is holding them financially hostage. They just came off their greatest season ever. Dumping Reed for Lagway or any other QB just seems insane. No chance that this could just be Aggie signing a back-up QB type behind Reed?

They pretty much always oust their starter before graduation. They’re always going to be better next year.

I never said I assumed shit. You and I have no idea what the numbers are like. All I'm saying is that unless you're willing to pay for Coleman yourself, the analysis is a lot more nuanced than "go get him at all costs"

I’m not saying go get him at all costs. That’s the narrative from Bobby and the other media outlets and it makes sense. Why is the analysis a lot more nuanced? Looks like they have cut a lot of bad money off the roster, are graduating key pieces that tied up big dollars and probably will have large corporate NIL backing for next season. And I don’t have to pay for Coleman. Lucky for us we have the biggest college football brand and I’m sure there a few corporate companies that will shell out money for the #1 portal prospect to be in burnt orange. We may not get him, but it won’t be because he had to choose between him or another guy. From the sounds of it, Sark is about to spend some money. Enjoy it…

I'll still be surprised if Reed leaves but crazier things have happened. I'm sure he has a high ask given he was a Heisman contender through 11 games, but Elko might also realize he sorta sucks. Tough to bridge that gap and there are a lot of solid QBs in the portal.

From what Bobby is saying, I don’t think you should just pencil in Mosley at WR3. They are talking as if we are going for 2 WRs in the portal to start to pair with Wingo.

That would be typical of Sark to blow his wad on WR, RB, and QB and do jack shit on the OL. And yes, I place a lot of the OL line issues on Sark. However, Flood should have realized that his LG, center combo sucked balls. waiting patiently.

We're trying to win the Daytona 500

huh? Looks like they are planning on revamping the OL. They are saying that they are looking for a stud RT and will move Baker inside. That doesn’t sound like a coach that is doing jack shit on OL. Same coach that has had every tackle he has coached drafted and will have another top 15 draft pick on Goosby. This year sucked to start but it’s looking like they are going to load up on OL.

Bobby keeps repeating himself that Texas is going to spend a lot of money and they are not being “penny wise”. I’ve never seen Bobby talk like this. He either knows which players are coming or has been told how much they are going to spend and is giddy about it.

The lesson here is Texas should continue to target insanely talented high school QBs who come from wealthy families and are already famous enough to sign actual NIL marketing deals with real companies worth millions of dollars. It really simplifies the post-season renegotiation process.

Got news for you about our QB coming in

Bobby ended the live stream saying he was hearing info that was contradictory to some reporting and needed to end it. Wonder what that means?

I think that was the point of his comment as Bell is the son of an athlete with plenty of money. Saying it is a good strategy and we need to stick to it

Well, he certainly qualifies as talented and from a wealthy family. Arch may be 1 of 1 as far as being paid for national advertising campaigns before he takes a college snap.

yeah, he left us on a cliff hanger there…

People are actually throwing around $5m or so for Soresby?

the QB options must be ass.

Aggies are the least self aware people on the planet. "Why would Coleman rather play for Arch than Reed? Just because Arch is the face of college football and his last name is Manning and he's going to be the preseason Heisman favorite and then probably the first pick in the draft... I just don't get it."

Never mind we have 2 portal WRs playing in the NFL that were drafted in the first two rounds. Concepcion will go in the 2nd round, and he's going to have to test off the charts to make it there because of his size.

Yes, if "Texas media" want to sabotage aggy in the portal, suggesting Reed is locked in for 2026 should do it.

Lol. Lasted about 30 seconds on Texas.

Long thread about how Tech is fraudulent for making the playoffs and some thread about how they should play "Texassss" in Sept and leave the entertaining games for November.

Choads.

Ah yes, we’ve reached the “make up insane preemptive reasoning for why Texas is about to beat us for the star player that we actually don’t really even want” part of the offseason.

Mosely isn’t staying because he thinks he’s going to be rotational. Dude has been pretty great when healthy

Jesus, that was quick. So much for showing his white board skills to Babers on OTF as a HS senior.

Honest question, those of you who still follow HS recruiting... why?

If you feel this way, why the fuck are you here posting on the recruiting forum? Could it be because players like Arch Manning, Anthony Hill, Colin Simmons, Jelani McDonald, Manny Muhammed, Trey Wingo and Trevor Goosby didnt portal onto our roster?

stupid fucking post.

The most aggy trajectory possible would be for them to tell Reed to piss off, he goes elsewhere and gets good coaching and has a great year while they overpay for a name in the portal and still go 7-5 with next year's schedule.

Exactly what wad do you think Texas is blowing on the QB position?

I feel sorry for aggy having to deal with people starting rumors about their QB transferring. We sips have never known such struggles up here on our ivory tower.

let's position wingo as #4 and find WR #1 and #2 to go with Mosley at #3.

"Marcel and Arch had pretty even stats"

Player A: 234/377 for 3,169 yards, 25 TDs, 12 INTs & 104 car, 493 yards, 6 TDs

Player B: 248/404 for 3,163 yards, 26 TDs, 7 INTs & 92 car, 400 yards, 10 TDs

Doesn't take a genius to figure out who was the better quarterback this year.

Now do stats against top 25 teams for both of those guys..

this is so easy with them it almost makes me wish I was an aggy because making cash off them would be like taking candy from a baby. they are so fucking gullible.

I think our QB money has been well spent. My point was that it feels like Sark neglects the OL position and focuses almost entirely on the skill positions - Kind of a 7v7 type of attitude.

Why would we do that?

Everyone understood the point you were trying to make, but we haven’t spent all that much money on QB in the portal. And we’re not ignoring the OL this time.

Of course, I want Reed to stay, he sucks, but him going to the portal after this update from Looch would be icing on the cake.

I think Wingo is upgradable but I was replying to the comment to effectively move mosley to #4 which I think is a mistake.

While NIL is relatively young, I have now seen enough of the "actuals vs what is tweeted about" to say that number and every other number you hear is usually way off.

You're best off dividing the number by 10.

John Midteer is a pretty great nickname for the OU QB. I hadn't heard that one before.

When it comes to Cody Campbell’s desire to win, I wouldn’t be surprised

If Coleman doesn’t make all his visits I’d be fucking shocked. He’s asking top dollar, and I’m pretty sure his agent knows how to work the market.
