a) the salsa at Chili’s is ass. wouldn’t make a top 500 salsa list for me.

b) the trope that Chili’s makes good queso needs to go straight to hell. circumstances beyond my control had me at a Chili’s recently (select ball in the burbs) and we tried it again and it still sucks. my 11YO liked it though.

c) i, along with @SydneyCartonand @RGBIII, have seen you defile both a queso and a salsa, sir. you cannot speak on this subject matter with authority.

a. I fucking love chilis...I know, its a major shocker that a suburban fat Dad loves a triple dipper. Sue me. Chilis does offer free chips and salsa if you are a member btw, just need to sign in with a phone number

b. I love skillet queso but I really don't think it belongs in the queso category. Its closer to a chili than a real queso. Still delicious

c. how dare you remind me of this

Still one of the most horrifying things I've witnessed in my life. Just casually grabbing the table's bowl of queso, calmly pouring into a table's bowl of salsa, slowly and methodically like pouring cream into a coffee, without even pausing his conversation, and then using his finger to slowly stir it together. His finger. On a table littered with silverware. While he mocked the notion that Texas would need more than 20k in NIL funds. It was like watching Brando do a Col. Kurtz monologue.

I just can't.

I can 100% confirm this is what happened. Only differences was I believed he used a chip instead of a finger. Also I remember the 20k but I mainly remember trying to get the walk ons 1k each or something of the sort

18 hours ago, Wulaw Horn said:

Only 80% of that is true.  Maybe 75%

I certainly didn't mock the idea that we needed more than 20k in NIL funds, since the entire idea we had was to immediately raise 50k in NIL funds to buy an OU wide receiver away from them.  I just said I was out if it was more than 20k b/c I had 3 little kids and a business and an RV to drive.
Also- I put the queso up and asked if anyone minded.  When I heard nobody respond I assumed everyone thought "this is a good idea and needs to happen" I had no idea that yall had never done that awesomeness before.

Lesson learned.

I don't remember the exact conversation that led to the pouring of the queso but in my PTSD nightmares you are staring me in the eyes while you do it...

There is a sociological phenomena known as the Bystander Effect. It’s where people witnessing horrific things are en masse powerless to break the spell and do something. So they sit and watch. It was taught to me at school with the case of a man beating a woman to death on a bridge while something like 70 people looked on and did nothing.

This was like that.

There is a direct link between what happened to Kitty Genovese and what happened at that Mexican restaurant that day

When we went to fayettnam in the RV with Wulaw we went and had a dinner at a fine restaurant, spent about 125-150 a head in fayettnam which is some really high end shit. We walked outside and wulaw was looking not great, I was liquored up and ready to go try to convince a young coed to come back to the RV. We are walking down the street and wulaw proceeds to projectile vomit all over the street. We promptly ordered an uber and gave him water and threw him in the uber and went out without him. lol

@RGBIII can fill in the missing details.

We took bone marrow jameson shots, then Wulaw puked out black bile like he was expelling a demonic entity

Or not. Not might be good.

Nothing about that trip was good. I said that game was the second worst thing to ever happen on 9/11

As I said- 100% accurate.
it bothers me somewhat that people can exaggerate some of my behavior. I live as a cautionary tale projectile vomiting in opposing locales and driving RV’s into overpasses and taking pictures of sex tents. If there was truth to any of that nonsense I’d admit to something involving queso at a table. I mean, what, that’s going to be the thing I lie about?

You and @SydneyCarton are both clownish with the bystander effect shit. Genovese was murdered in a laundromat surrounded by apartments in NYC at like 2am. Some witnesses, none visual, heard her off and on screams for over an hour as the knife-wielding murderous rapist kept leaving and coming back once no one showed up.

Witnesses later confessed that they either thought it was a couple doing consensual stuff or they thought police had already rendered aid. It didn't help that things were dimly lit and no one could see anything. The original story grossly exaggerated the behavior and count of witnesses.

It's more of a canard to actually call that out as an example of bystander effect than anything. Cialdini's "Influence" goes into great detail about that murder and many other psychological/social phenomena and stories associated to them. Great read for anyone. Also, the "bridge" reference by SC is likely overlaying memories about bystander effect stories with public suicides off of bridges in front of onlookers who just watch it happen. That's actually a real example.

Well, I can tell you that there was nothing consensual at that Mexican restaurant. A laundromat murder sounds more visually appealing

And here I was hoping Mississippi State would end A&M's season.

Mississippi has failed me and my disappointment is immeasurable. Which I guess gives me a taste of what it must feel like to live in Mississippi.

Since they are still around, too, Bennigan's has the best Monte Cristo sandwich I've ever tried.

Oh well. MSU will still make the ncaa tournament which is an achievement after how the season started.

Only thing that matters is what Head coach we pull in the next couple of weeks.

Im not listing off the names until i actually see it happen but feel we are in a good position to get a p4 head coach.

Is there a Bennigan's still in existence? I don't remember their honey mustard, but I remember their Monte Cristo being awesome. The great thing about that place was that they were open until 2am. We'd finish a shift across I-35 and then they were just a u-turn underneath the freeway away.

I ordered a lunch special at the Houston Bennigan's near the west loop 35 years ago.  They put a shit ton of black olives on top of their chicken enchiladas but under the sour cream sauce.  I almost threw up at the table.  Last Bennigan's I ever stepped foot into.  I hope they are bankrupt and fucked.

I have not been able to find one in forever. The last known location I could find open was in Plano around 2009 when I was working for the Frisco RoughRiders. Happy hour until 11PM every day. Legends never die.

Why do white midwesterners think black olives are a staple ingredient of tex mex?
