and here's USDOJ's Table of Authorities to support their pleading. (A table of authorities is a list found in legal briefs that outlines all the legal authorities cited throughout the document, including cases, statutes, and secondary sources. It serves as a roadmap for judges and other readers to quickly identify the sources that support the arguments presented, making it easier to follow the legal reasoning behind the brief.)

“Governmental action” is typically excluded from policies so prolly not.

Federal Tort Claims Act is your path:

Quote

Under the FTCA, 28 U.S.C. §§ 2671-2680, individuals who are injured or whose property is damaged by the wrongful or negligent act of a federal employee acting within his or her official duties may file a claim with the government for reimbursement for that injury or damage. To state a valid claim, the claimant must demonstrate that:

he or she was injured, or his or her property was damaged by a federal government employee;

the employee was acting within the scope of his or her official duties;

the employee was acting negligently or wrongfully; and

the negligent or wrongful act proximately caused the injury or damage of which he or she complains.

I mean, that is, if you believe that laws that apply to and bind the Regime and those it favors still exist.

Spoiler: they do not.  We are the Democratic People's Republic of Laws for Thee not for Me.

Yup. There was a story on the TV news up here in Dallas about a private citizen whose handymen was wanted by the police for some reason. He holed up in her house and there was a police standoff. The standoff ended with the cops taking him alive but causing $60K in property damage to the woman’s home (fence, windows, etc). It took her years to get the damage paid by police. That’s when things were somewhat sane. We’re getting close to THE PURGE being a reality in this grand old US-of-A.

How long until we're seeing DIY justice because it's impossible to find in the courts?

The timeline you are discussing is "damn near any moment now."

A system of "in groups who the law protects, but does not bind, and out groups who the law binds but does not protect," once laid arrogantly bare, is not long for this world.

Which is infuriating and demoralizing to someone who has spent his entire adult life living and working within a system that - while flawed, sometimes deeply - more or less functioned.

e: And make no mistake about it, it will get worse. Juneteenth in 2025 may go down as a truly infamous day in history if things go sideways. Pay attention.

It may get worse but what is the correlation between ICE protests and the celebration of Juneteenth?

Follow-up:

A little friction and squabbling isn't a bad thing, imo, but of course:

Depends what color you are. White = justice. Black = crime

Not that this is what you meant, but we are already seeing the impacts of ICE's tactics on the local court level in LA. Cases having to be dismissed because victims and witnesses are too scared to show up to court.

Don’t leave out Arizona, half this state bitches about California non-stop during the week then loads up their jacked up truck (that’s never been off road) and heads to SD, OC and LA for the weekend.

Rich out-of-state doctors from Austin who buy little glass chalets in Montana on the side of a mountain overlooking a lake shouldn’t cast the first stone.

You should hear how New Mexicans and Coloradans bitch about Texans "driving up prices and changing local dynamics."

I read this post 20 minutes ago and I'm still chuckling about it.

From the screenshotting a post of mine instead of just replying to it, to the awful formatting, to the incomprehensibly dumb post that followed. Bravo, sir.

Strange artifact history that most of them aren’t  Texans anyways.

I don't know why I was surprised to look up the group named on the bottom of the printed posters and find the protests in all these cities are organized by the Party for Socialism and Liberation whose goal is to completely topple capitalism.

Are you retarded?

I always laugh at all the people from flyover states that talk about what a crime ridden wasteland NYC is, but they come here at Christmas, spend thousands, and then go home, knowing that things are not as bad as Fox News or dear Orange Leader tells them, but still go back to repeating the lies that they hear.

Sips of truth are quickly drowned out when they drink from a firehose of lies.

This was inspirational. I will only pack one bullet proof vest for my trip to SF
