Game was great

Victory Crazy Mouse was great

The City Of Dallas wasted a shit load of money on their Cotton Bowl renovations. What a shitshow of a fail that was.

OU Sucks

Were you in the lower deck or upper deck?  I was impressed with what they did for the upper level.  Took the new escalator straight up there, so never even had to deal with that crazy concourse behind the lower level.  Plenty of beer and water vendors upstairs for once and I think they were selling chick fil a as I saw lots of people eating them.  Seemed like there were several new bathrooms up there, but heard they were small and never went.  The extra concourse space was nice up there for hanging around before going to seats.  Given the age of that place and space limitations, I thought the upper level renovations were decent compared to what used to be up there - i.e., nothing.

I just love OU spending a year searching for a QB that could beat us and that QB that they brought in was the instrument of their downfall today. 3 FGs in 2 years. And they have @ South Carolina, Ole Miss, @ Tennessee, @ Alabama, Mizzou, and LSU. Inject this shit in my veins if they go 0-6 the rest of the way.

Yeah the new (“improved”?) bathrooms were small and all had crazy lines pregame, both upper and lower level.

the west side upper deck is great. The open terrace area where you get off the escalators was nice. the walk through market/concession stand on the 50 yard line is great. Large with plenty of self checkout stations. They need 1 of those on each level on all 4 sides of the stadium.  (The one on the lower level is poorly placed and just caused more bottlenecks.)

Other than looking more modern, the lower level was meh/worthless.

nothing was done to ease the congestion in the north end zone. The only place to get water on the north end lower level was the same single set of concessions stands with a 15-20 minute line before kickoff.  Tons of vendors carrying tubs of beer but none had water. (Haven’t been to the east side in years, so no comment)

the money was clearly spent to add the club /suites in the southwest corner which only benefits the ~200 BMDs and their family/guests for each school (water is wet).

After getting ejected from my daughter's, who is a Senior, water polo area regionals game yesterday (was her last high school game) and the first two quarters of today's game, my wife has officially taken me off suicide watch.
Holy shit, what a game. I don't know what adjustments they did during halftime, but I'm down like Charlie Brown on whatever it was.
Next 3 games should be some momentum makers for Arch and the offense now.

OU hasn’t scored a touchdown on us in 3 years

Some smart kids are going to graduate from Texas with OU never having scored a TD during their tenure.

Woof. Need them to finish strong but don’t see that happening with that schedule. Need Florida to get their shit together and get to/above .500 but don’t see that happening with Georgia, @ Ole Miss, Tennessee and Florida St still on the schedule

that rotten egg in the swamp is going to stink the rest of the year and probably keep us out of the playoff if we split Georgia and A&M.

If that happens, hard to imagine winning a 2 loss SEC tiebreaker to get to the CCG thanks to Florida. Florida will be to us what 2024 Vandy was to Alabama all over again.

Should be apparent to everyone how much pressure affects quarterback play. Mateer was a heisman candidate before today.

Eh, it's life in the SEC with a young team. We were due for a stinker but this win sets the table for a great 2nd half. That's what Mack never got about this game but Sark gets it. This is what propels you and saves your season.

I put it more as they got a young Michigan team at home, a completely shit ass Auburn team that has zero ability to win games, and a bunch of cupcakes to make Mateer look good. We're not going to be the last team he struggles against and now they go on the road. And they can't run the ball for shit which is going to kill them in SEC play. Switzer was on the Ticket in Dallas and he said OU's inability to run the ball was going to cost them and he wasn't optimistic of their chances. And sure enough, the team that ran the ball better won yet again.

It was glorious watching venables and staff begging for fucking flags at the end, getting called for holding while the game was still in doubt, illegal man downfield even got called.  hopefully this SEC thing at least ends the bullshit that was going on for 20 years in the rig 12 in this game specifically and in general.

Yeah 38 passes for a guy that had hand surgery 17 days ago is not how they drew it up.
great job executing a gameplan to make mateer beat us.

What a weird and glorious Texas-OU game. Usually this game involves tons of big plays, where one side of the stadium is going apeshit and the other is dead silent. It goes back and forth over the course of the game.

But not today. We had our moments for sure. But I can’t recall even a single time the north side of the Cotton Bowl erupted into anything more than a mild celebration. OU had no big, momentum-swinging plays. They forced no turnovers. They scored no touchdowns. They blocked no kicks.

For a game that was competitive until late, the Sooners did absolutely nothing remarkable.  Just a really uninspired performance by the bad guys today. I fucking loved every minute of it.

The loudest they cheered the whole game was when Mateer trotted out for the first offensive play after the kickoff. Everything after that was subdued.

Also, the OU side is the southside of the Cotton Bowl. Just saying.

Anyone could be forgiven for missing it. I certainly did. Doesn't seem very memorable unless one of our defenders made a nice play

Respect for Mateer for taking the no excuses high road in the L.  Manned up and said he wasn't mentally prepared and learned a lot.

Honestly he doesn’t fit at ou

he’s not a showboating front running bitch pussy like most of their other QBs and players.

that was a tough performance even in a loss

got his screw hand hit by a facemask while running looked to be pretty fucked

props to him

still fuck ou

I thought he was done once his hand got mangled on the facemask, but he stayed in and kept trying.  He mentioned making poor reads, which is eye opening.  OU qbs in the past said things like they were the better team after they lost.  No, Mateer really doesn't fit and unfortunately, he's a big bodied qb that will get better.  But he needs a better offensive coordinator than what he has, because that guy should've benched him to protect him from himself and further injury.  Fuck OU.

Not gonna bet on that considering ou and their seemingly perpetual Heisman deal with the devil, but yeah good to see us do our part to squash the 2025 possibility (and if we didn’t finish it, certainly the rest of their SEC schedule will)

I hope OU holds up well enough to save Venables for one more year.  Their schedule should be a little easier next season so maybe he could end up holding on for multiple years if he survives this season.
