+1 rep for using the adverb.

It is so refreshing to see. 🙏

1) I had never heard of RJ Young.

2) As soon as the video started with fake laughter for more than 1/2 of a second, I moved forward 4 to 5 minutes.

3) After 2 seconds, I hit stop and clicked to see how many views his site has received. Surprisingly he has accumulated nearly 50 million views.

I don’t know how these people are so bad at what they do and yet can make a living from producing scripted & poorly acted crap, but it beats working.

I don’t like to stereotype, but I’m really fucking good at it.

From the first time I saw a still image of Conner Stroh, I felt that he was being recruited because we couldn’t get tackling dummies that big from the walk-on market, but that he would never be able to move quickly enough and with enough balance to be anything other than a practice player

Unfortunately #1: I was 100% correct.

Unfortunately #2: The coaches aren’t as good at stereotyping as I am.

As I always say, I’m sure that Conner is giving it his best effort and is a wonderful guy, but he is just not now, nor do so believe will ever be, good enough to play at this level.

Yeah, I could have sworn he went to ou, but apparently he played at Tulsa. He's actually not a bad watch, if I'm being fair. He's much better than Pate, which admittedly is a low bar, but still.

Not that he needs it or cares, but give @closetojumping major props for calling the OU offense perfectly.

To wit:

Mateer is turnover machine when pressured, the run game is terrible and the offense line is pretty poor.

Your point #3 is interesting and it is hard to understand how someone putting out this kind of content can get so many clicks, at least until you remember that overall, people are idiots.

The examples are too numerous to list even in a partial list here, but people are morons.

The amazing part is that he puts out videos that are longer than 17 seconds and the mouth breathers that watch his stuff stick around a few minutes.

Thanos could have eliminated half of all idiots but nooooo, the stupid Avengers had to ruin it.

Less reads, less slower developing down field targets.   Herbie mentioned it later in game.  This looks more like colts offense.   We took points inside the 5 should tell us all we need to know.  Sark knows we are limited offensively, the fg take was telling.   He just needed to shit the bed in Gainesville to understand it.

we will be more ball control, outside zone, we used the hell out of TE yesterday.  We’ll take  shot down field situationally vs dictating terms.

How we should have played since game 1. When Arch can finally find, call. and hit the hot read he will be bombing the outside routes with impunity. Until then,  he should RPO and run play action to the Tight-ends and the wrs on dig routes.  Could be we were lacking the run game. Hoping that Wisner gets stronger as the year progresses. That aTm game shaping up to be a great one.

Yeah I usually hate the OU QB, but Mateer is hard to hate. Zeus you're right; he's not a showboat or obnoxious af like Baker or Kyler. It's hard to hate him. He seems like a nice kid and I like that he's humble and doesn't make excuses. Kinda reminds me of when they had Trevor Knight. He was always respectful and humble and it was hard to hate him as well. And I agree with tbone that at this point the only thing to hate about John Mateer is that he plays for the gooners.

One thing I respect about him is when he threw shade at Manziel by saying the difference between them is that he goes to church and Johnny doesn't.

Also it helps he threw three picks then took sacks instead of throwing more. I think no matter the personality I hate an ou qb that beats us and I’m not always fully hating an ou qb that we beat lol

Sunday - The Afterglow: Bobby

Spoiler

Sunday - The Afterglow

By Bobby Burton

We witnessed something yesterday that I’m not sure everyone will fully appreciate until maybe later this year, or even into the off-season and beyond.

We saw Arch Manning grow up.

In a game against a quality opponent and rival, he got rid of the ball instead of taking sacks. He took what the defense gave him. He moved in the pocket. He ran effectively. He wasn’t lured into taking multiple deep shots.

Instead, he calmly engineered three straight 10-plus play drives against the nation’s top-ranked defense, converting both the easy plays and the difficult ones, all while never putting the ball in harm’s way.

In the fourth quarter, with the game on the line, he did not falter. Instead, he remained steady and thereby rose to the occasion.

Most importantly, from the first quarter to the last, he commanded the Texas offense… exactly like a Manning.

You can’t ask for more.

**

While much was made about the return of John Mateer for the Sooners, we probably should have given more attention to the return of Manny Muhammad who missed the Florida game for Texas.

Muhammad’s two picks, especially the one to close the half, were critical in creating momentum going into the second half.

**

The offense was picked up by multiple players, none more so than Tre Wisner.

He’s a bona fide Sooner slayer.

For the second consecutive year, the outside zone play - and Wisner’s quick cuts off of them - gave the OU defense absolute fits.

He also was an absolute key to the passing game. His third-down reception in the third quarter when he left an OU safety grasping air in the open field was the type of play Texas has been sorely lacking in his absence.

Sark’s offense relies on players making plays in the open field. Before that move by Wisner, when was the last time you recall a Texas running back doing anything like that this season?

It hasn’t happened much, if at all.

Texas needs more of that if they’re going to make any noise in SEC play.

**

The offensive line was also a pleasant surprise, even if it didn’t start out that way.

Marred by holding calls and a procedure penalty early in the contest, the Texas OL got on track in the second quarter and was able to get a push against the Sooners, a defensive line that many felt was the best in the conference.

While many will rightly mention the insertion of Nick Brooks into the starting lineup, I would also be quick to add that it very well could have been the best games in the careers of seniors Cole Hutson and DJ Campbell and the young sophomore Brandon Baker.

The usually disruptive Sooner defense just wasn’t so disruptive after the Texas OL unit adjusted into the game.

**

The Texas WRs also came up with a strong game overall. No dropped passes. They worked well in the zones on scramble drills.

The liberal use of two TE sets also gave OU more eye candy to contend with, as well as longer paths to the QB in pass rush situations.

**

I don’t want to put too much value into this game. There’s a risk of that given the magnitude of the rivalry and the afterglow of it.

But, make no mistake, Texas - finally - appears on the right track this season.

They played with physicality and a high level of precision and discipline. Add that to the talent level we were already aware of, and we could come out with a team that just keeps getting better every week.

Let’s hope this kind of effort rolls into Lexington next week.

I hate to be "that guy", but just to make it worse for ou, I'm going to spot them that as the redzone and say we took it from them. Because fuck them.

I didn't think anyone "hates" Wisner, per se... What I think is that they view him as small and not a three down back, which is lazy. Dude is a gamer, regardless of size. Just ask Darren Spromes and (I hate this man with all of my black heart) Quentin Griffin.

What I think people want (myself included) is a Justice Haynes, or Baxter with his #1 RB rank to come together and see what he can really do with his potential.

Wisner isn't the most electric back in our history but anybody fronting on him must have forgotten what a dog he was just last November in College Station

I think we generally use him pretty poorly. He’s much better at stretch or outside zone and we seem to not utilize him nearly enough catching passes. Yesterday was the way we should utilize him most of the time, although I’d like more designed receptions rather than just check down options.

Nah one of the ones I quoted was responding to someone who said “Wisner is so so bad”.

there were several comments in the first half about “why don’t we run other guys instead of Wisner, he’s not good enough”.

So yes. Some hate him. Or think he sucks or isn’t good enough to be our main back.

Gotcha. I missed those I guess by skimming through, being at the game, and self-loathing.

The hate is unwarranted. It's like they think he calls his own plays or some shit. He's a hoss when given proper blocking or tossed outside
