Since we are on a bye this week i am in search of a historic Texas game to watch. Recently I watched the documentaries on the 1960s teams and I have watched just about every game since 2005 so anything from 1970-2005 that was memorable/historic would be greatly appreciated.

"Memorable"? Well, there's the 1991 Cotton Bowl Classic

1995 Texas Virginia had some moments.

Freshman Ricky Williams (139 yds on 14 carries)

700th overall UT victory

First time a winning play decided the game at home.

And the McKelvey / Weaver season.

Everybody remembers Dawson's kick but watch the last drive. Two 4th down conversions (Wane McGarity and Brown to Adams) to just get there.

1990 Cougar High @ Texas

My favorite game while a student on The 40.

It was the only game in history where UT fans stormed the field and tore down the goalposts, right?

All on the list! With how the cowboys are trending this year I will probably start these at halftime tonight.

"Derrick Lewis in a footrace."

The back to back '89 and '90 OU games were pretty good.  1996 aigy game with Westbrooks laying people out was a great game.

Westbrook almost beheaded a ND back that year too (kinder?).

Texas Mizzou 1996 had Ricky running wild and carrying at least one guy into the end zone. But it's the insane hurricane like storm that hits at about 1:38:00 that made it epic. That poor bastard punting for Mizzou hit about a 15-yarder straight into the teeth of the wind and rain before the refs decided to call time for a while.

Domers in Austin September 1996. Was a loss but this hit is legendary...Westbrook on Kinder. All 83,000 in attendance felt and heard the impact, Kinder was never the same the remainder of the game.Enjoy!! Beat the hell out ofGeorgia!!

1999 Cotton Bowl vs Miss St is also a fun watch if you never got to watch Ricky run. He was a runaway freight train in that game. This still from the game is an example, but the three consecutive runs tagged to the video show why the guy was so unstoppable. Injures one guy trying to tackle him, busts several tackles for a 23 yard gain, and then absolutely obliterates a defensive player trying to stop him at the goal line.

Man, you gotta love Westbrook.  He was pretty skinny... not a ton of muscle on his arms and legs.  I bet he was less than 180.  And he would PUNISH guys 30-40 pounds heavier than him... like Kinder and Greg McElroy.

Fantastic cover corner too.

You just never see that combo.   You have cover corners and then you have 200+ pound safeties who can hit.  Not both.
