A couple Myslinski CBs to Texas (7 confidence)

I'm so shocked that the Iowa and Maryland guys put theirs in before Roach.

Also that Iowa analyst is 100% on the year.

Oh, and obligatory:

Spoiler

In Myslinski's junior hudl he sure plays fast, low and when he locks on a defender he stays on.    James Brock tends to get stood up a lot and he does not move like Myslinski.    Maybe we get a better version of Russell Gaskamp instead of a maxed out Terell Cuney.

Not that James Brock is a particularly difficult guy to replace, but yeah he's the center take.

Dad is the Jaguars' strength coach and apparently family friends with Hand.

I found his junior HUDL to be jarringly reminiscent of Jake Raulerson's OL film.

Thanks that helps - I guess my initial reaction was height related..

Center's funny this year.

JBrock is a private school kid who got a colossal "my brother is fucking awesome so every school offered me" ratings bump.

Myslinski has some interesting offers, but his competition is so bad it's hard to judge him. And his dad is an NFL strength coach, how close to maxed out is he?

Ezra Oyetade-Dotson has every 9.95er drooling over his film, but he doesn't have a single Big XII offer.

RE: Ezra Oyetade-Dotson.. I looked up the 247 by Position for OC, it is odd he has no real offers in Big XII or SEC, except Vandy.

All I see is a kid who brings his hard hat and lunch pail to the field with him every day.  Just goes out there and works hard.  Knows every position on the line and can make all of the calls - he like an OL coach out on the field.  Really looking forward to him being a part of this team and community.  Should really help our team GPA.

I think Myslinski is a good take. Sometimes you just have to recruit a deep snapper. It's not the best use of a scholarship or logical by any means, but maybe he could double as a designated driver for someone?

Going to be funny when Myslinski is a multi-year starter and Day 2 draft pick while James Brock gets processed by Saban ūüėÉūü§ę

The OL haul really needs to finish with Byrd and/or Foster.  No faith in Brock's flipping.

Byrd doesn't like us at all at this point, and Foster is a pipe dream. Stahp.

Yep, setting expectations with those two is satya’ish.

I'm just going to focus on the fact that our most recent TE and OL take for this class were offered and heavily recruited by Iowa, who is probably the best school in the country at identifying and developing TEs and OL.*

*While ignoring the underwhelming ratings, film, and offer list for both.

I get the impression that no coaching staff really loves Byrd at this point either. I think everyone is pretty much waiting to see if he can beat out Early and then be as dominant as Early has been because it's entirely possible that Savion Byrd despite his camp showings and Soph highlights -- he may not be the best LT on his own high school team, and further he may only be the 3rd best OT on his high school team.

There's probably a few different reasons that you see not one, but four or five schools all go hot/cold/hot/cold on an OL recruit. It could be the culture fit, it could be a myriad of possibilities but Occam's Razor tells me that coaches really want to see what he puts on the field his SR year.

Also of lesser note - his trainer/mentor is the same cat that trained Courtland Ford and that recruitment was also all over the place, went hot/cold and featured very few Texas teams prominently and a lot of OOS schools. Also parallel Ford was highly ranked early, reached as high as .96 composite and finished as a composite .86.

If Myslinski is making his choice based on Texas 995ers crying about Ezra, that would be very weird

I’d honestly love to know why you keep repeating this.

If we are already down to taking Myslinski, I assure you we are not being picky about Byrd, we do not have that luxury. If he wanted in, he’d be in, he just doesn’t want in.

This.

Piggybacking on this - still no tackle contingency offers out. Hand is supposed to be really obsessive about seeing kids play in person, but man, you'd think we'd have SOME backup plan offers out the door. He's following a lot of of the guys Wickline's been looking at at Baylor, but no offers.

You think Texas wants to see senior film on Cade, Lott, and Leyrer before offering?

I think Tom Herman probably thinks he’s flipping the Brockermeyers, because that’s how his dumb ass rolls.
