  1. Look, Georgia was supposed to murder us and we beat their ass. LSU was supposed to murder us, and we were in that game until the end. I expect us to show up well-prepared and unafraid. Will that be enough to overcome the roster inequities? Probably not. But some of y'all expecting them to beat us by 35+ need to look around our program for Charlie Strong and Tom Herman, and when you don't find them you can bring your nuts out of cryostasis and let them hang again. We're gonna give them a fight.

  5. 2021 Bama Season: - Won by 2 at Florida, who finished 6-7 and fired their coach - Lost by 3 at aggy, who finished 8-4 - Won at home by 6 vs LSU, who finished 6-7 and fired their coach - Won at home by 7 vs Arky who finished 9-4 - Won by 2 in 4OT at Auburn who finished 6-7, and considered firing their coach That's 5 good to average teams who played Bama close last year. They did so because they probably didnt enter the game certain they were going to get prison raped. While I'm not expecting a win, we sure as fuck better be competitive. Its our coaching staff's job to figure out how to get these guys convinced they can win. Its why we pay Sark $6 million per (not to beat ULM by 40) The horns have a top 10 roster in college football when it comes to talent, and we get Bama at DKR. I keep reading on this board that we're a better team this year than last, and I recall playing OU, Baylor, OSU within 10 pts. Each of those teams finished last year in the top 10. A blow out is unacceptable and would be more proof that Sark is a bum. The Horns need to let their nuts drop and give Bama a game.

  6. Bullshit. The closest game to this one was a 56-7 win over New Mexico State, that Texas trailed up until 1:48 to go in the 2Q. Texas never trailed in this game, and could have wiped Monroe out in the 2H if they had wanted to get Ewers as many reps as possible. Monroe never threatened the Texas RZ when the 1st or 2nd team defense were in the game, and the STs contributed big plays. Monroe had 259 total yards, with 100 coming after Texas was up 52-3. I think the defense had a very productive game with 8 TFL and 3 sacks, and that is with Monroe going Jimbo with the play clock.

  9. What does that game have to do with your laughably stupid takes touting Oregeron and Emsfingersminger while talking shit about Brady and telling all of us that there would be no let-downs in future seasons because your boy Ed O was so smart? You’ve never owned that because you are who you cheer for - a dirty piece of shit with no backbone.

  10. Texas had over 300 yards with 10 mins left in the 3rd quarter. That was the last drive the starters played

  13. 42-38 Texas. This is Quinns coming out party a la Sam against USC. I'm not wasting a first in generation home game groveling because we're supposed to lose. This game is for Colt and the entire 2009 team.

  16. I don't know what game y'all were watching. Casey looked much improved. He especially connected well on the long ball and did quite well with the intermediate and check-downs as welll. It probably helped that he had a long time in the pocket, though. Angilou looked much improved in pass protection as did Karic and Jones. Billingsley provided solid blocking as well and was a great outlet. Blue probabably outperformed Bijan a bit, but maybe Johnson was a little dinged up from his heavy practice load. On defense, it looks like Brockermeyer is finally fully healed and Foster was always there to clean up the misses. Ovie was spectacular and was helped by an ever improving Jett Bush. I counted at least 8 quarterback pressures and 6 tackles for loss by our interior defense led by Collins and Broughton. I really don't think we could have asked for more from an opening game. Bring on Bama.

  17. Holy fuck this site is pussified this morning. Y'all act like the Alabama football team is some conglomeration of mutant cyborg football robot assassins. Guess what, their players put on their pants one leg at a time. What's more, Nick Saban is an old, senile fuck and his OC is fully regarded. This is gonna be a game - mark my words. Take the Horns and the points! Also, all you gaping vaginas do the rest of us favor and stay home next Saturday. I don't give a shit if it's an 11 am game - get up early, get the bloodies rolling, and be ready to bring the noise. Hallelujah...holy shit!

  18. Man lotta surprising bitching in here but it’s Surly so I’m probably the idoit for being surprised. I have a fairly simple litmus test for you to consider when thinking about the direction of a team. I watch the WRs and TEs when they are in a position to block downfield. Both in form and ferocity. Our guys were doing fucking work last night, Sanders nuked a few guys and Whittington, oh Whittington. For a guy with his injury history to absolutely beast out in that facet of the game was a sight to behold. Does any of that mean we beat Bama? Of course not. We are inexperienced in key spots but the talent and mentality looks to be there. It was a very good opening game. Lots of good things, things there to work on. We aight.

  19. Bama has the advantage in : 1) Roster talent (accounting for depth as well) 2) Experience 3) Coaching/Discipline 4) Scheme/assignment/playbook understanding and comprehension Obviously the odds are against Texas being able to come out of week 2 without a “1” being added to the loss column. That being said….. an L is an L. Whether Bama wins by 50pts or 3pts, it impacts your record equally. In order for this program to ever be on the trajectory to re-establishing itself as a force to be reckoned with in CFB world, any adversity that’s encountered cannot result in a derailment from the main objective. All we can ask of our players/coaches is to execute as efficiently as possible in areas in which they have the control over (preparation, focus, effort, discipline, etc..). If our “best” results in a 30pt ass raping, then it is what it is. Treat any fuck ups/adversity/mistakes as isolated events, and learn from it/correct it. They do that, and they will remain on the correct path. If they allow mistakes in one area or game to spread into other non-related areas/future games then we are proper fucked. We are currently a 5’7 320lb fat piece of shit. We want to be 160lb, and fuckin ripped. Our path to get there includes Exercise/diet/proper rest. A cheat meal (Bama loss) is fine as an isolated event, and doesn’t nullify your ability to achieve your end goal. Having a cheat meal turn into a cheat week…… decreasing your motivation to go work out……..etc…. And you always remain Fat Ketch.

  20. These stats are taken so out of context it's hilarious. 1) A good chunk of ULM's yards occurred at the end of the game when Texas was playing 4th stringers/walk ons. 2) The Texas offense didn't gain 400 yards because the starters played 2.5 quarters.

  25. This game felt similar to a late era Mack Brown game against a shitty team. In the end, the score looked pretty good, the stats seemed OK, but watching the game, there were things that just made you feel really uneasy about the upcoming season.

  27. don't get too bogged down with the minutiae. nobody on the right cares about what hillary did or did not do or what the national security implications were. they found something, they latched onto it, and they used it to tip the scales just enough to win an election. and through ukraine/burisma/laptops, they've been (unsuccessfully) chasing that high ever since. that's why they don't care about (or even notice) the hypocrisy with what trump did. they don't care about what hillary did. at all.

  28. Yeah on the LHN postgame show Lowell Galindo and Michael Griffin were getting into it a little about the approach to Bijan vs. Bama. Griffin (correctly, because he knows football) believed we need to use Bijan as a decoy some because Alabama is going to sell out to stop him. That could open things up in the passing game. Only once you have Alabama's defenders second guessing themselves will the run game open up. Lowell Galindo's dumb opinion is that we just need to feed Bijan 29 times per game and live with the results. Griffin was like "He'll end up with 60 yards on the day and we'll lose but okay."
