I listen to Coast to Coast AM late nights when I can't sleep. The people who call in are the targets of this. John on Long Island? Your time is coming!

Love that show.  I always feel just a little better about my sanity, and IQ after an hour for two of that, and the right amount of alcohol, and weed.

I used to listen to Coast to Coast when I had insomnia during my undergrad in the early 90’s.   Holy crap it was full of weird shit back then.

Today, surly was educated on what naruto’s running style is. I would have guessed that it could have been in reference to a recruit or athlete having a weird running style. But no, it was because of real people wanting to storm the Alamo..I mean Area 51. Hot damn I love this place. Soon surly will be comparing sam’s field vision to the sharingan.

I think what I find most amazing is the depth and breadth of the insanity. UFO nuts, crystal gazing nuts, Uri Geller true believers... the list goes on and on. If they can house them all at Area 51 I say go for it.

It was hard to tell if Art Bell was truly a believer in most or any of that stuff.   But he did a wonderful job of getting the so called believers  on his show and lead them on as if he was a believer .

I have to think he was just a radio guy who found a schtick and stuck with it, like most radio personalities. The new guy, George, has the same gift. Never condescending to his audience no matter the level of insanity. Quite the opposite, he encourages them to explore their thoughts further. I've listened enough times to hear callers who are frequent flyers, it's like they're all old friends. He keeps 'em coming back. Some of his guests are actually pretty interesting and not kooks which is cool but they will entertain and indulge the kooks who call during their segments/interviews.

It gets a bit sad when the truly mentally deranged call in though. Heard one gal calling in from somewhere out in the desert, she was living there with no utilities, just a cell signal and a radio. Coyotes were stealing her car keys at night while the aliens were abducting her for experiments, whatever. Painful to listen to.

Wait a minute, you can't just lump Uri Geller in with all the nuts and fakes.

My sarcasm meter may be off, but you old men on your lawns do realize this is one big troll job , right?

You shut your whore mouth dirt bag !!!!

Seriously, if it were true  the NSA would have probably already black bagged the instigators.

It’s one of those things that when you know it’s a troll job, but you worry that somewhere out there it’s real.  Such as Catwoman and Alf crossover snuff porn.

Yeah, anybody with a modicum of intelligence realizes it’s a joke. The concern is that there are probably a shit ton of people who don’t realize that. What if 10,000 whack-jobs actually showed up and tried to storm the base? Can’t imagine the horrible position those officers and soldiers would be put in.

But from a legal perspective if it continues to gain traction, the organizers could probably be charged with anything from inciting violence to treason. Maybe not the original poster, but definitely the crazies that take the reins.

Art Bell was so fucking great. George Noory pales in comparison.

Haha. I used to listen to that show every night back in high school. the big foot nights always kept me up until 330-4 am on a school night. I can hear the intro song in my head with that steady snare drum

I wonder how much of it is manufactured. It wouldn't be too hard to get some friends to call in regularly and pretend to be crazy just to drive content.

Art Bell was awesome.  Siegel sucked. Noory sucks.
