Not saying we’re in awesome shape with our roster.

They’re 6-2 (soon to be 6-3) in the year they were supposed to compete… quit being pussies because they got a 5 star player committed.

We will win the SEC before they do.

Lmfao.  No we are aggy now. We will be Vanderbilt on the sec

There’s a few posters here still stuck in the 2000s mind set.  Aggy has the most wins of any Texas school the last decade.  Aggy has had a Heisman winner in the last decade.  Aggy has put multiple 1st rounders in the NFL the last decade.  Aggy has the best DC in college football and has one of the few active coaches that has won a national championship.

We’re the aggy now… we are so far behind them in building the infrastructure to compete in the SEC.  We need to fix our shit and hope they stumble to change the narrative.  Bc they are dropping bags and these recruits were like fucking 4-5 years old the last time we were competitive on the field…

I hate aggy so it really pained me to type this out.

All of this, sadly.

We can't live on the shit that happened with VY and Colt. No one fucking cares about that. A&M is gonna have back to back 10 win seasons and they are dropping bags all over. It seems like we are stuck hoping they fuck it up instead of trying to deliver a blow ourselves.

I’d rather run out to early leads and need to fine tune finishing/conditioning under a first year coach than be facing 6-3 in the 4th year of my 75 million guaranteed head coach lol. Fuck off.

Your informed predictions are definitely worth listening to.

Something worth noting: The A&M defensive two deep is now majority OOS. Not a single LB from Texas in the two deep.

At the elite, can’t miss level there are still Texas defenders out there. But I honestly think you’re getting tougher, more athletic defenders at the three star and low four star level OOS. Sad state of affairs for a state that was once synonymous with hard nosed football.

Yeah the people who want Traylor because he can clean up in state should be careful what they wish for.  If you want him because he’s a damn good coach go ahead - I believe he is.  If you’re all hard over cleaning up with Texas HS recruits…

OU went National and it wasn’t just because so many people fighting for Texas recruits - on the defensive side Texas HS produces soft players.  And trust me I know OU’s results on D are putrid but at least moving to get out of Texas has been smart imo.

Wouldn't suck to get all the "good" Texas players that  go to OSU, ALA, Georgia though

These are the most competitive bidding wars though, so if that's what you want we still need some serious overhauling to do.  OU has made some really good moves nationally, securing takes from the likes of Mater Dei, Bishop Gorman, St. Frances Academy, etc.  Aggy is doing similarly with more SEC stink to it but the point is neither of these rivals are talking up BEASTexas or the pride of the Rio Grande Valley

Throw in the yearly JAGs from LT and Westlake to keep the west Austin suburban mafia placated

I get the point, but walking into OOS and cherry picking their #1 recruit with Brinks truck helps.  That’s where UT is lacking, and I’m not insinuating they are squeaky clean.  But aggy is in the open with this stuff, knowing they’ll never pay for it unless they piss off one of the old guard.  Which they might, if Bama actually starts to feel threatened. Aggy in a great spot. People are tired of Bama winning over and over. Time for some new blood. Why not one of the longest time losers out there ala Cubs.

If they haven't pissed off the old guard by now, I'm not sure what would do it. In the past 6 months, they've leaked the SEC move to try to kill it which has complicated the exit discussions, they've beat Bama, and they're poaching in-state commits from all the old guard by taking bags to another level.

I guess they're still not really a SEC champion threat, but otherwise there's not much more they can do to piss people off.

Aggy is a top 10-15 team this year. They have an excellent defense and a bad offense. They're still no contender. But remember that this was supposed to be their year. Next year they lose 8 starters on that defense, AND their top playmakers on that shitty offense. Plus a tougher schedule.

I'd also be pretty surprised if Elko was still around next year. His stock can't gonna get too much higher and with all those departing starters, that defense is likely to take a step back.

aggy will pay Elmo more to stay as DC than most head coaches make…they want to make it unnecessary for him to even consider leaving…$$$$$$$$.

You want the guys to see a win, but I don't expect it to be a great weekend.

Aggy definitely has a better gameday atmosphere than us, their place gets crazy loud and their fans are very into it as long as it is competitive. Our fans can't even be assed to stand for most of the game. The worst part about aggy is that they're aggy. Turns out that stuff doesn't even matter if you do enough to change public perception. Their administration and alumni are seemingly unified in getting aggy into the top tier of CFB though.

Maybe their success will push our guys to do more.

Even their social media presentation is better than ours. Has UT even released a video of the SEZ facilities yet? It's wild to me how some of you continue to bury your heads in the sand. We are getting left in the dust on multiple fronts. CDC needs to wake the eff up.

He's not going to leave because of money, he's already got that. He leaves because of opportunities that don't come open as much for DCs currently. If good one comes offering, he's gone in a heartbeat.

Our team can’t even be asked to move the ball in four separate quarters? Why would anyone stand up for that?

At some point we have to bring recruits to see a game that isn't a loss. Our only conference wins are against teams that have since fired their head coaches.

We brought in a ton of recruits to watch the Oklahoma and Okie Lite collapses. Those were bigger recruiting weekends than this one is.

Because a good atmosphere and home field advantage needs loud and engaged fans. Loud when the opponent is on O, quieter when we have the ball until a positive play happens.

(Jeremy Crabtree) Week 10 recruiting winners and losers: Texas A&M has weekend to remember

Quote

Recruits normally don’t make decisions based on a one-game performance or solely on one visit. But make no mistake, Saturday’s games will have an impact on the recruiting trail. That’s why Texas A&M, Alabama, Oregon and Purdue are the recruiting winners for Week 10 of the college football season. It’s also why Texas and Minnesota are the biggest losers of the week.

RECRUITING WINNER: TEXAS A&M

We knew coming into Saturday it was going to be a five-star weekend in College Station, with an elite crop of prospects coming to town for the game of the week against Auburn. And nobody could have written a more perfect recruiting script for the Aggies. The Aggies’ defense came to play in a 20-3 victory over Auburn. But the headline of the day was not just one but two massive commitments.

First came the news that five-star defensive lineman Walter Nolen of Powell (Tenn.) High had committed to Texas A&M while in College Station. That was followed up almost simultaneously with the news that Missouri City (Texas) Fort Bend four-star wide receiver Chris Marshall also had committed. The On3 Consensus – a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies – rates Nolen as the No. 2 prospect in the nation. He is also the country’s top overall defensive lineman.

Marshall is the No. 79 overall player in the 2022 class in the On3 Consensus. On3 ranks him even higher as the No. 64 prospect in the 2022 On300 rankings. The commitments of Marshall and Nolen, who is a Five Star Plus+ prospect, marks one of the top single-day recruiting coups this cycle. It is not every day you get one top-100 commitments, let alone two. The commitments jumped Texas A&M from No. 9 in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking to No. 3.

The top three recruiting classes in 2022 are now occupied by SEC schools; Alabama is No. 1 and Georgia is No. 2. The big weekend means the Aggies now have a clear path to their first-ever No. 1 class, said On3 National Analyst Gerry Hamilton.

WINNER: ALABAMA

No. 2 Alabama (8-1, 5-1 in the SEC) struggled offensively but did just enough to beat LSU 20-14, knocking down a Tigers pass in the end zone on the final play. A long list of blue-chip recruits visiting got exactly what they wanted to see – a great atmosphere and a competitive game with plenty of NFL-bound players making big plays all over the place. Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage five-star EDGE Marvin Jones Jr. had high praise for his official visit to the Capstone.

On300 five-star defensive lineman Anthony Lucas of Scottsdale (Ariz.) Chaparral called the visit “amazing.” Lucas raved about the atmosphere and how the fans were into the game the entire time. Greenwood (Ind.) Center Grove four-star defensive lineman Caden Curry and Jones’ teammate, four-star cornerback Earl Little Jr., also gushed about everything Alabama. While the weekend didn’t produce any new commitments – yet – it was a productive 48 hours that could pay dividends down the road and help the Tide cement another No. 1-ranked recruiting class.

WINNER: OREGON

No. 4 Oregon (8-1, 5-1 in the Pac-12) rode a powerful rushing attack to a 26-16 victory at Washington in the rain, the Ducks’ 15th win in their past 17 meetings with the Huskies. While it was the Huskies hosting prospects on campus for the game, there were plenty of recruits both programs are targeting in the stands watching. With the win, the Ducks can use another victory over their rivals to sell recruits in the Pacific Northwest that they are the top program in the region. They can also use it to walk into high schools in Seattle – an underappreciated recruiting territory – and recruit against the Huskies in their own backyard.

WINNER: PURDUE

For the second time this season, the Purdue Boilermakers upset a top three-team. Purdue beat Michigan State 40-29 on Saturday. They previously beat then-No. 2 Iowa 24-7 after the Hawkeyes had beaten previously unbeaten Penn State. The victory sends a resounding message to prospects that you can win big games and do big things at Purdue. The Boilermakers have the No. 46 class in the country and already 18 commitments, so there’s not a lot left on the board for the 2022 class. But this is the type of win that can help coach Jeff Brohm gain momentum with top 2023 and 2024 prospects throughout the Midwest.

RECRUITING LOSER: TEXAS

After falling 30-7 to Iowa State, Texas has lost four in a row. What momentum they had in recruiting seems long gone after this bleak streak. That’s especially true after the Aggies’ turned in a weekend to remember on the trail. A&M has regained control of the narrative of “Who is the best program in the Lone Star State?” and recruits in the 2023 and 2024 classes also are paying attention.

Texas still has a top-10 class, with a lot of quality commitments to get Longhorn fans excited. But before the losing streak started, there were dreams of a potential No. 1 class and multiple five-star prospects coming UT’s way. It could still happen. But Steve Sarkisian is going to have to work some recruiting voodoo to flip the script with less than 40 days left until the start of the early signing period.

LOSER: MINNESOTA

Minnesota had the inside track in the Big Ten West and was sitting in first place after a four-game winning streak. But that all changed with a dismal 14-6 loss to Illinois, who was a 15-point underdog. With tough road games at Iowa and Indiana on the schedule and a streaking Wisconsin coming to town on Nov. 27, a loss to the Illini is a bitter pill to swallow. It’s not completely out of the question that Minnesota will win the West, but there is no margin for error now.

And if the Gophers don’t win the West, it’ll feel like a major missed opportunity. P.J. Fleck’s program sits at No. 53 in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking. The Gophers have added only two commitments (unranked RB Max Grand and Consensus three-star TE Nathan Jones) since the end of summer. Playing on the Big Ten’s biggest stage in the league title game would give the Gophers an opportunity to showcase their program on a national stage and maybe kick-start recruiting down the stretch. Or maybe at least give them a head start with momentum for the 2023 class.

Holy shit this thread is amusing haha. This must have been what it was like in the 90's when ole Slocum was cheating his ass off and had aggy relevant. Melt downs as far as the eye could see. We can't keep our own shit in order so what good does it do melting down over what aggy is doing? If history has a say in any of this they will fail spectacularly.

Took Miss beating bama 2x either consecutively or 2 of 3 to get things stirred. Right now aggy beats them once every 9 years, when Bama doesn’t show up.  LSU going to get tired of getting beat consistently by them pretty quick I bet.

I'm not surprised they're outbagging us, but how the heck are they outbagging schools like UGA and LSU so consistently? Even for out of state kids. I mean, UGA is #1 in the freaking country right now with one of the most dominant defenses in memory. Is A&M just taking bags to a whole new stratosphere?

Or hopefully the NCAA steps in and sanctions them. 🙄

I get what you are saying but they've done this before.

At one point they had three 5* QB's on the roster with a slew of 5* WR's playing behind Sherman's OL that nearly all went pro. They also had NFL caliber players on the DL and were recruiting more 5*s on that side of the ball.

What did they win? The Chic-Fil-A bowl.

You think everyone needs to wake up, but a lot of us think you are either not familiar with their history or are ignoring it. We've read this book before.

The phrase "aggie-ing it up" is not without merit.

They’re deep at every position that matters at championship level. OL, DL, LB. They’re filling in the future holes with 5 star talent. This isn’t a Kevin Sumlin coached team Jimbo is actually a much better coach than most here give credit for.

If they keep up their current pace with the game they will end up accumulating so much talent they will end up fucking around and actually winning.

Those of you who are constantly downplaying the improvement of A&M have your heads up your asses.

The bottom line is that the hiring of Jimbo brought a level of cheating that hasn’t been seen since the Jackie Sherrill days and is in line with what Bama, Georgia and other top cheating programs are doing. This level of cheating produces better on field results than programs not cheating in this way. Period. And the difference is massive. Programs that don’t cheat this way cannot stay competitive.

The power balance is shifting. Either A&M has to get caught, or Texas has to figure out how to compete with the cheaters. If we don’t, we are staring at mediocrity for the long-term.

I suspect it goes beyond recruiting too. I think a lot of the top programs hold off the record practices beyond the ncaa limits. Jimbo got straight up busted for that year 1, then a racist video of the accuser magically popped up and the whole thing went away.

I’m willing to bet quite a bit of money that our guys aren’t practicing extra.

Its clear you dont understand the slack jawed jihad they are on. Its no different than Georgia. Do you think they're destined to trip over themselves forever? Eventually the 5 star players start to stack up. You do remember that Jimbo has already won a championship right? Seems to me that ignoring what is going on with their program just because of their innate aggyness is something a blockheaded aggy would do.

Jimbo doesnt give a fuck about a&m or fsu and neither do their 5 stars. He just wants to use players that are bigger and faster than others to earn more money, and they want to be showcased on the biggest stage to get drafted as high as possible. Thats it. Thats the game.
